From what i remember in other videos of this game the comment section is almost filled with people complaining about how bad the pc speaker music of this game. They just don't appreciate the effort and trickery that mindscape used into creating the 1-Bit PC Speaker music. And also this game has one of the best pc speaker music of 1989. And thankfully the waveforms look interesting as well both (Intel PIT) Square Wave Mode & (CPU-Driven) PCM Mode
@@DonkOfKong The IBM PC Speaker is not inherently bad (In fact its the best 1-Bit sound chip out of all the 1-Bit sound chips). Because i know that there are at least decent tunes being made for it. Maybe this game is just not the pc speaker's strong suit because the timing does feel a bit wobbly. But other games did implement fake polyphony much better such as Vixen, Micro Machines, The First Samurai, Super Space Invaders, Thunder Blade, 4D Boxing (1991 v1.0 Mindscape version not the 1992 v2.0 EASN version), Bumpy's Arcade Fantasy, The Lord Of The Rings Vol.1, Golden Axe. And there are also single channel music that sounds decent on pc speaker Such as: Laser Light, Sango Fighter 2, Home Alone 1 & 2, Spot (7up licensed game), Bar Games, Altered Destiny, Double Dribble, Bob Morane: Science Fiction 1, Tetris Classic, Mutan Zone, Kentris, Oil's Well, Jimmy White's 'Whirlwind' Snooker.
I guess PC speaker music might not be enjoyable for everyone. However, at that time, there were many cases where there was no sound at all. Especially because IBM PCs didn't have proper sound devices. Games that had even a bit of music and sound effects were really fun in those days. When I was young, I envied game consoles and sound cards with cool sounds, but as time passed, I somehow developed a fondness for the simple PC speaker music. Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment^^

i agree. as you told, the efforts and tricks are great.
i believe if people know that truth, they would appreciate too😆👍
Just because they had to try harder to make something that sounds terrible work, doesnt make it not sound terrible.
