You are so great at filling in those awkwardly shaped parts of a city. And while everything looks so great, you do it in a simple way too. I’ve Been following you since Palaven but this might be my favorite build of yours so far. Well done man. I think the big subscriber growth in your channel recently is a reflection of your efforts here.
Hey Egg, i think it would really suit the mountain if you place trees at the bottom of it and progressivly smaller vegetatation as you go up. It helps to get a better feeling of the height of the Mountain.
Orchid Bay videos are my favourite thing about my week lately. While I do miss how perfect you can get things to sit with all the mods in Illos, the ways you manipulate roads and buildings are so simple but so satisfying. You sir are a legend! Keep up the amazing work and looking forward to the first Orchid Bay stream ❤️😆
Ahh thank you for shouting out Auridon's festival area! ♥Absolutely love what you did with this waterfront, Build Guide is freaking awesome!! Thanks for all the content Egg!
I love your style. Each addition feels smooth and fits in easy. You clearly know what you're doing and not only is great to follow this series, there's a ton of inspiration for my build. So thank you as always OE.
Stunning! I just started a new city and I am using your technique of a slower build and more detailing, and I must say, I am enjoying playing Cities so much more. I keep looking at my city from different angles as you suggest and it's amazing!
I absolutely love this Egg. Not finished yet, but you might wanna check that underground metro station. It going under the river might be an issue, it might not have enough clearance to slope far enough down to get under the water. I can already see where the downtown is gonna set, and I'm so excited for what you do next!
As usual. You amaze me with this city. It's an amazing city to behold with the sites, and flow. Not all one place looks alike. You can see the different areas, yet they blend together almost perfectly. I'll be eagerly waiting for the next video. Yet please take all the time you need. It will always be worth the wait!
You should put separate bike paths between the tram and roads leading to the toll booths. It’s such an under utilized space and would fit perfectly! Love your videos!
Fewcandy's festival area was one of the first of her vids I watched, and it blew my mind! Now you put a public stage in the middle of a this plaza space--perfect! And I love that the cougar is there waiting for you to put in the wine bar. ;) And the transition is rather magnificent, in a practical way.
What a tune for the detailing! I'd love to see an aerial shot of the city at the end of the episodes to show the before and after as it grows. Super satisfying 😌
Ah, what a gorgeous build Egg. I’m loving this city so much and I def need to update my console so I can continue building alongside you beyond the 9 vanilla tiles ❤
Whenever I watch this series I realise how unrealistic my cities have been. Thanks for bringing realism in skylines to my attention. Keep up the great work!
Another excellent build! Really like how you fill out each space and treat it as it's own separate build but also link it so well with the rest of the city. Looking forward to the downtown build which probably won't be for a while! Wondering if you'll have a 'ring road' around the island to map out the downtown :)
Thanks bro! I've been playing with a kind of bus ring using the new highspeed roads, but I think certainly some kind of circular traffic relief will happen somewhere :)
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG sounds like a great idea! I really enjoyed the overground metro loop you made in Palaven so a high speed bus loop would be pretty cool. I'm sure we can expect something new and exciting!
this was great!!!! been waiting all week, could sit down and watch this for hours. it's lovely how much you care and how excited you are about things in the game, it makes it sooo much more enjoyable as a viewer. thank you for the video egg!!!
Every time I think to myself: no, that's not going to work, dude. But then I always see a smile on my face and think: wow! It's so much fun to watch you and follow your thoughts, which "always" work out :)
I might be a little late but the new pedestrian area next to the bridges are giving me major new jersey into nyc vibes thru the George Washington Bridge. The tall buildings that stick out among the rest of the landscape being visible right next to the bridge is amazing
Very cute build. I think the winding road down to the area should be a pedestrian path too. People walking down to see that statue walking in the middle would be a great view
Hmmm...strange that the game labelled it the Statue of Wealth. It's actually a memorial to Bunny La Roux, the late husband and long-time bandmate of Lily La Roux, the multi-platinum international pop music phenomenon who returns regularly to perform at the Festival Area in her hometown of Orchid Bay. Bunny La Roux passed away unexpectedly in a bizarre detailing accident when a prop line of small rocks buried him alive as he was penning lyrics to a new song in a local meadow.
Great build & great inspiration as always. 😊I'm so stoked that as a console player, I'll finally have 25 tiles to do the vision for my own cities justice!
Looks great. I generally transition my low residential to mid rise with a large park. If it's a very large park drawn in and I'm feeling particularly brutalist, I'll smash a flyover right through the middle of it so traffic doesn't go on a major detour. I'll also put small industrial and office parks in the midrise skirt and quite a lot of proms and paths etc
frankly you are the best joke apart from I have been following you for a short time, you are building your city with professionalism, love, congratulations
I have been so excited to see this transition to high density! Wonderful video as always, Eggy! The riverfront reminds me so much of downtown Jacksonville ❤ Also, I believe the deer ate the cougar and then the wolf ate the deer. The cirrrrrcle of liiiiife.
I must admit I made an audible gasp when you placed the concert stage but it does actually work really nicely and has the added bonus of drawing a lot of cims in. Can’t wait to see how busy the plaza gets once the metro is hooked in
almost instantaneous pedestrian traffic into the riverwalk. looks good with the live venue, right on the water. cannae wait to see all of these networks roll into the hi-rise downtown!!
Finally a new video!I've been waiting every day for this. I hope you had more time to make them more frequent!! We can't get enough Egg city building😀😀😀 Have a nice week mate!
I AM LOVING IT!!! Awesome build man! Mix some bushes with those stone wall or breakwater so that they look more organic. Also don't forget to upgrade that concert area to 4 star ! Higher capacity will create generate more densely walking sims. I integrated your tram design in my city. Can't wait to integrate overground and underground mono-metro and train! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
I noticed a change in the style of your builds, from Palaven. There is so much more planning in terms of skyline and infrastucutre, but builds feel less modular. Or at least, there's a lot of transitional space to make the city feel alive and well used. It's also more daring... putting that Torre Condo tower outside the downtown and into midrise feel... braver than before. It might not have fitted into the early skyline, but it certainly does. Love it! 🗼🏢🌄
Gorgeous build. Loved it. Always appreciate the ways you use the park assets. That and your use of metro. I always afterthought plop down the little metro station. Need to work on being more thoughtful.
Egg, I like how you sorted out the farm district! I'd love to see a district near the shore that attracts tourists with cinemas or fishing piers. Enjoying your videos man, keep up the good work! You inspire me everyday regarding my cities!
Fabulous epiosde! One of the coolest things I've ever seen you do was the very simple act of removing that piece of road and dropping in the info booth at the metro station. Honestly! SOOO cool! Little things like that really bring vanilla assets to life and make the areas come alive with bustling cims raging about having to pay a congestion fee. Maybe some healthcare in that area so they can seek therapy to get that rage under control? 😝 As always, loved it all, love seeing the city take shape, and looking forward to where the city is going. Maybe a baseball stadium across the river there? Just an idea 😉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
When the Brooklyn and Queens DLC is released I'd like to see you do a large urban grid style city based on say New York, Philly, Chicago, or maybe Boston with it's old-world meandering street style would suite you better? Enjoy the videos, keep it up, great content. Also, I really hope they add medium density housing and commercial in the new game (Cities 2) fingers crossed.
Yes I've been looking forward to this video for a whole week. The new plaza looks great. Only thing i question is the 'welcome to Orchid Bay' sign, it makes sense because it's where you might be looking but its on wrong side of the road imo. Still looks great tho.
Awesome video as always egg! I love the abundance of the pedestrian paths flowing all around. Can't wait till they get uber busy and seeing all the walking porn that's coming! I'm also really interested to see how busy all the ways into the eventually downtown will turn out, so many different routes to cross that little river. Can't wait for the next one dude! Also livestream?!?!?!
And another good video from the knight of the calcium shell. Not sure if it is possible, but if there is ore in the mountain, I would like to see how you would wrestle with putting mines on mountain sides for a quarry with the difference in typography heights.
There's some great content creator european and north american pedestrian bridges that may be a nice option for that bike bridge (bikes can still use it but will take pedestrians off the one ways as well).
Love your content Egg! to make te AI to use the parking slots in vanilla you can upgrade the road to grass road or anyone that prevents park on the street
I would put the festival area right at the edge of the "forested park" and remove the forest, this will create the perfect place for live outdoor concerts thanks to the slope
Hey Egg, loving the content as usual. I have a friendly suggestion, I think if you flip the metro station 180° you can keep the center path in front of the festival area going straight. Which would look better in my opinion in such a high value commercial area. :)

My only gripe with making all your low density retail historical at level 1 is that you miss out on the absolutely gorgeous 4x4 red brick almost victorian looking building. It's fantastic for representing "old but still nice" areas of town that have a sense of having been bustling urban areas for quite some time already.
I think you should check out the highline in NYC. it's a pedestrian walk way that weaves in between office and commercial buildings. As a new yorker that is definitely one of the most beautiful walks you can take it the city.
If you want to force the use of those car-parks switch the plain road to one of the 2 lane with a median; trees, grass or just the concrete on, and they will be forced into the car-parks.
