The 2024 US Open main draw runs from August 26 - September 8 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 144th time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Last year, Serbia's Novak Djokovic and United States' Coco Gauff claimed the men's and women's singles titles. It was Djokovic’s 24th Grand Slam title and Gauff’s first Grand Slam title. Cincinatti have difficult camera view, hard to see tennis ball. US Open camera, higher definition AND ball very visible. This pretty cool. Outfits on players look better, too, and skin complexion. Badosa look ready to go. That a winning tennis outfit.

So strange to see a one-hand backend from a woman.
Yet the one handers can win slams
It is, but I watched a few of them yesterday live, including this one. Not only do I like watching the one-hander more than the two, but I also tend to look for a more all-court game from those players; it's almost as though the single-handed backhand lends itself to more variety in shot-making and perhaps more craftiness in the use of the old-school chip-and-charge and net approach. That's not an absolute, mind you, but I've noticed that particular groundstroke having been paired with a more well-rounded, all-court skill set from a given player more often than not. I guess that in the modern game, the one-hander is not a great match-up against the two-handed backhand, at least in a baseline-to-baseline defensive contest.
Is it much stranger than in men, though? I can only name three women who sport a single-handed backhand: Golubic, Gasparyan (who is semi-retired) and Parry. But it's not that I know more than three men who use a single-handed backhand either.
