i noticed some massive gains recently with breed anky vs tamed one. didnt think this much of it. but wow. def gonna be looking into getting better ankys!

In ASE Nodes hat a Set max amount you can get. I'm going to assume it's the same in ASA. Melee plays a part in how much of it you will get. I used to raise ankys and once they got to like 500 you were getting the max amount. We kept breeding their melee anyways because people wanted it. *shrug* But we focused on weight mostly. Still once we hit around 500 melee, we saw little to no difference between the 500 vs the 2k one. Both destroyed the node in 1 hit, and both gave roughly the same amount.
Sorry my english is to weak to understand it so could you write in simply words would it better to add points from xp in wehight or in dmg if you have mutated and not imprinted anky with dmg 1080%? Thank you in advance
@@user-ds5jd5zy2dhe is saying that melee damage past 500% doesn't matter much. Once you reach 500% the amount of metal is the same as 1000% so the stats don't matter. Since you will probably be using an argy or rhynio to move the anky around. Where u put the levels is up to u.
You should do dunky testing as well. I heard you can get up to 16k metal in 15 minutes with a dunky if you know the right place. I think I remember them being round rocks (not river rocks)
Do you know how to do this properly? I tried, but if anything aggros on you it’s so hard to fight bc of the dogshit turning radius that if something gets behind you you literally can’t hit it (unless I’m missing something?). Even just doing rocks in waters where there’s only sharks though (you can swim faster than them if it gets sketchy) I seemed to get pretty good metal anyway and LOTS of stone
@@Kyydon thats just the cons of the dunky. Slow. You can get a better water tame to follow you and help defend. You can go up to the surface if getting attacked by tusos, mosas, or pleasios since they dont follow up there.
One person on a dunky, another person on a mega. And yes, it's great for stone. I'd also like to brag that AAA has gotten the best megas on every server with 62 melee and 52 HP.
Interesting how the base damage is so important. Assuming that this applies across the board it doesn't really change much in how I approach gathering since I typically bring along a beast of burden anyway so adding a mate isn't a big issue.

I feel there might be a chance that there's now small/medium/large nodes. Like we had the small nodes (sprinkled gold rocks). And the large nodes (solid gold rocks). Instead of changing rock size or appearance (and to mix up the static of only chasing certain metal nodes). I think there's a chance now that metal nodes could be small node, medium node and large node. Which results in the 50-80. 80-100. 200+ metal from different rocks and why your first test with the triple rocks appeared to not work out. If the small nodes cap out regardless of your dino melee, then it would make more sense. All this would then also mean that only so much melee % would be needed. EXAMPLE: Like 600% with imprint buff and no mate boost OR 500% With mate boost and imprint.
Being dmg I wonder if a yuti buff would improve it too? Would be crazy to see ppl using it to do so but just a thought. I love breeding Ankys so this was helpful and fun to watch 👍
I tamed a Moschops, I always tame those and I use them for harvesting polymer from penguins. I crank the harvest points into just polymer harvesting. On Survival Evolved I got tons of polymer. On ASA I’m getting just as much as I would by using my good pick or my argy. Guess I need to crank the damage a lot more or get another and breed it.
There's about 3-5 different settings that controls harvest. 1)Harvest amount in general, 2)damage amount on dinos , 3) resource health. 4) player harvesting damage.

Technically all the stats were pretty high on my level 3000 giga anky. I didnt test anything but i doubt anything would increase metal gain faster than melee but who knows
Playing on a boosted server with friends. The anky seems to be the only Dino that doesn’t get a resource boost. Angler fish with 2300% melee net me with 180 pearls a rock. My theri doesn’t go up that much with wood, but the berry increase is very noticeable. My friends mammoth gets 500+ wood a tree compared to my theri getting 300. It’s funky.
With this new update on evolved I been getting 282-423 stone. 137-283 flint. 11-21 metal. My anky is heavily modified health 16175.7 stamina 1400 melee 10293.3
Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but I'm so confused as to what is "newly" discovered in this video. ASE has a cap, so it makes sense the "giga" anky didn't scale how you would assume he would. Also, we knew from ASE it was all about melee, again, this is not new information. Very informative video however, but I'm failing to see anything in this video that wasn't a recap of things the community discovered in ASE. However, I do appreciate the info about the northwestern part of the map being nerfed in regards to metal. Either way, nice video.

There are small rocky islands along the shore that are covered in thin blades of grass. Every blade is just fiber. I farmed over 10k by hand and no melee in 30 minutes or so moving from island to island. I’d love to see what I could do now with a sickle!
use you imprinted/mate boosted anki's, 2 or more of each build a raft, make a big wide platform at the front (only wide, not deep, so like 1x10 foundation and ceilings place anki's on these 2 big wings drive round all the rivers and shallows of the map ignore/sail past any river monsters, have anki on passive probably optimal number and arrangement is 5 anki, f m f m f compare that to flying up and down mountains ignore/sail past any river monsters, have anki on passive not entirely my idea, im just stitching this one, with 2 others cant give credit, ive no idea who i learned from
You may want to try letting him farm by himself (without you riding it). Just like the Moshops, they farm better while wandering and not you riding them. I must say, i never tryed it like that with an Anky, but why should this dino work diffrent then the others right?
My only thought of this video is the breeding changes and how mutations are now. I understand that you can get lucky and find a max melee stat anky but with how they changed breeding to cap out at 20 points (tracked in their own separate category) your plan of pumping up to 1.3k MD might not work to my understanding?
Yoo i didnt think about that to increase melee. shi. Would be a pain to take on a metal run. But throw a yuti and a mate boosting anky on a quetz and you only need 833% melee on your farming anky cuz of the yutis 1.25x damage buff.
you should still imprint because it does two things. One, it increases the actual melee stat of your anky by up to 20%. When you cuddle your anky go in and out of render and you will see the melee % actually increases. Then the second thing, which you are talking about, is you also get a multiplicative buff to your melee damage when you are the rider. So you could drop the anky and get on it and hit the metal node. If not then you miss out on the buff which is fine.
yeah it looks like every gathering node has a max hp value and you cannot gather aboove that value. even if you have 6million mele damage the formula is lesserOf(.3x anky damage, node hp)

I do miss the mutation testing tough, i wonder how it works if ur anky haves the max mutation melee stat. Would it be the same as the ''giga'' anky you spawned in? we didnt saw the stats on that giga anky so i cant tell from your video. would be nice to know if breeding anky for melee mutations is worth it.
The anky had like 3000% melee. I think i show it briefly in my disappointment clip. It just doesnt seem to matter what your melee is after the 900 damage. I did get a couple more metal on average with giga anky but could just be sample size or the 900 damage is just a hard cap and anything after that barely does anything
This has been this way forever. All anky gets metal based off melee. It got so bad they redid the code so there is an option to hardset maximum resources from a node... You're question what is the pattern. Damge has a direct correlation to metal. Ooor double the damge double the metal...

U can farm, place everything in a vault and then move it with a rhynio ( be careful with stam since vaults can dissapear). Hope it helps!
rhynio vault carrying is major bugged tbh, vaults always seem to disappear if you go certain distance.

In ASE there also were 2 node types. 1 was fully golden, the other had some gold but was mostly dark gray

In ase the farming Dino's cap at a certain %. That's why the super high anky didn't get super high metal. I think it was 700 Mel or something
In ase the anky got diminishing returns after 600%melee I don't recall there being a cap on metal just a small amount more for every 100% over 600.
Try the yuty buff as well but it only worked on rich metal rocks on ASE.

It was but you definitely need more in this game and the video tells you the exact line you need to get to

The pure metal nodes actually look LESS metal in appearance and tend to be rounder. They are hard to tell though, not at all simple like in ASE

The " cap" changed. In ase it was way lower and to this day there are so many mixed facts on how much melee you really needed to hit it the cap on ase

At one point my anky stops swinging. Probably because he is overweight. How do i get it to continue swinging while noy leveling the weight?
If you are solo your best bet is to drop the anky and get on it yourself and then hit the metal. Otherwise yeah you have to level weight

and flint harvesting seems to go up 3 times as fast as stone with melee increase.
The anky simply is better at getting flint than it is stone. So not sure what you're getting at here.

As for fiber, it looks like the grasses in the river area and dried bushes give you way more than actual bushes/plants.
I noticed that too. Flowery looking plants seem to give mostly barries
In caves you can get about 18k fiber in about 5-8 sec just walking around hitting the edges, it does drop your fps massively

Im on official pve and my anky has 1723.8 melee when i hit a training dummy it only does 101 damage. Not sure how that works

I ark 1 there was half gold half gray metal rock (normal metal rock) and full gold ones on top of mountains (rich metal rock)
This is why I play on modded servers can farm just as much or more with just a pickaxe.

Anky melee caps at 700. Its been a thing for years. Any more than 700 doesnt affect metal gain
