Loki is definitely my most beloved character in MCU! But probably my favourite Marvel character is still Charles Xavier a.k.a. Professor X. Since "Days of Future Past" movie. I just realized. Loki was right. In the sacred timeline, freedom WAS a lie. People thought they had choices, but if they made the “wrong” one… goodbye variant.
It's so wonderful that He Who Remains fell into his own trap. He thought that either Loki takes his throne by killing Sylvie or would try forever and ever to try to solve a problem HWR created and therefore knew that there was no other solution but the one presented. But he didn't take into account that Loki would make a move which contradicts everything people thought about him. He never once believed that Loki could change from the role he gave him, that he could make the ultimate sacrifice for everyone by damning himself to endless solitude. HWR made Loki a villain and had kept him as such for so long that he never once thought there was a possibility for him to be anything but. It's so wonderful that Loki changed the equation by changing the one variable HWR thought a constant: himself. The God of Mischief, who enbodied chaos in such a magnificient way that gave life to a stable Multiverse. In the end, Loki did took over the seat, but on his own terms. He replaced the equation with a new and it is up to the people around to see where it will take them. It's so wonderful, and so incredibely sad that the man who feared loneliness all his life ended up living his greatest fear for all eternity, but for once he *chose* this existence, he took command of his own life and decided what to do with it. Started as a villain, later as an antihero, he is now grown into a hero who could inspire others to follow in his footsteps. He became a stepping stone once again, but this time not as an obstacle to be overtaken, but as someone who took the first step, so many others could follow.
Or, this show encapsulates what's so dangerous about Kang. Perspective 1. The multiverse is rapidly going out of control. Time itself is eating itself away, creating pocket dimensions where reality makes no sense. He Who Remains manipulates a group of people, creates an organization, to keep it from falling away. After all, what's the point in ruling if there's nothing to rule over... But that was just a small step in his overreaching plan. You see, He Who Remains is a constant. Every variant of himself is the exact same. They all seek to rule. But, in order to rule, he needs another constant. Something to keep the universe in check. You can think the TVA was that, the shears to clip away at an endlessly branching timeline, but no. That was just an illusion. What he needed was someone else to sit at the throne at the end of time to keep it all in place. What he needed was someone so desperate for affection, for family, that when forced to make a decision to protect a family, they'd do it. He needed Loki. In the end, when everyone believes that He Who Remains lost, the truth is just the opposite. He no longer needs to maintain the multiversal timeline. Someone else is doing that. He now has exactly what he needed. Freedom to take over and rule the multiverse. This wasn't Lokis story of changing and becoming better. This was Loki fulfilling the designed plan that He Who Remains orchestrated from the very beginning. This... was simply Loki proving that he truly never had freedom. What a befitting end for the God of Lies to be fooled to his very end.
@@MrGamis That's an amazing take and I admit I never thought of it like that. But maybe Loki being the new He Who Remains will help the new Avengers in fighting the Kang variants by giving them perspective and knowledge about the Kangs. I think this last episode and especially the conversation with Sylvie was about chance. For them to have the chance to fight Kang, to see if it'll be different this time, to see whether they can keep free will or not. Loki gave them the chance to change things, to change fate and if he hadn't, then HWR won without a doubt. Now it's not decided yet. War is coming, the TVA knows it, but how it will end remains to be seen. I'm curious to see what Marvel does with this storyline, however even if HWR truly won in the end and the Kang variants manage to conquer the multiverse again, Loki's character arc is a golden piece of art and something I'll always be proud for having the opportunity to watch it play out.
Loki basically went through the same apotheosis that Tony Stark did. He thought he was a monster & he did monstrous things. But he was never just the God of Mischief. He was the God of Change. He could think outside the box in ways that He Who Remains couldn’t. Kang never considered the possibility that a Loki would be willing to sacrifice his own freedom for others. That was his undoing.
Pretty sure he quite literally erased himself from the timeline, reset literal fate so that the Avengers could thwart Thanos. I wouldn't be surprised if Dr.Strange knew this, and why he gave the time-stone to Thanos because there was no 1-way-to-win. They weren't meant to beat Thanos, ever, and Loki eradicated himself so that fate wasn't on a set course anymore. He gave the entire multiverse literal freedom
Loki going from being the most selfish character in the MCU to the most selfless. From viewing everyone as worthless to valuing all of life. From wanting a throne to giving up the need to rule which finally allows him to take the throne of all of creation, isolated forever.
He'll be isolated but at least he'll never be bored. He'll bear witness and see everything, all the branches, that level of knowledge makes him an all knowing god at this point.
He wanted the throne because he wanted to be acknowledged. Validation and company was all that he needed thinking that a seat of power was what he wanted. At the end of the series, he realizes that all he ever wanted was people to be with but what he really needed was a seat of power at the end of time, away from what he considered his family. He was so afraid of being alone and being abandoned but he overcame that after centuries of time-slipping. In the end, he chose what was best for his loved ones, a selfless sacrifice. He will be alone but he is not afraid anymore knowing that his friends will be safe in his hands. As Mobius said, most purpose is more burden than glory and that there is no comfort nor solace--just pick your own burden. For him, the burden was the throne at the end of time--forever alone. He never wanted it, but that was what he needed to do to preserve his wants--to assure his friends their future. He literally gave the world to them to write their own stories just as he did his. He has found his glorious purpose
my favorite moment in loki S2 is when Sylvie and Loki are argueing about how to fix everything. In that moment Sylvie says "Sounds like whatever we do, we're playing God." and Loki replys with the perfect line "We are gods."
Loki said he was afaird of being alone, and the show ends with him content with his lonliness now that he is alone protecting the ones he loves. Indeed, the burden of a glorius purpose.
Loki's last words in Thor 1: "I could've done it, father! I could've done it! For you! For all os us!"- Depicts self righteousness, the idea of being a tyrant is what it takes to be a true God. Loki's last words in Loki season 2: "I know what I want. I know what kind of God I need to be. For you, for all of us!- Depicts responsability, sacrifice and selflessness. The perks of a true God. Same lines, diffent intentions. Loki's been chasing power throughout his life, now his one of the strongest there is, but no one's there to witness it. Perfect ending for an amazingly developed character. All hail to The God of Stories.
I've never actually disliked a character and then loved them. Loki was "haha Thors brother, lil God a michief. Same, pranks r fun. Lol." Loki is everything now. I cry over character arks like this.
There's something so incredibly "Loki" about the way this ended. He was selfless because he was selfish (he wanted his friends back), he got his throne and rule even though he didn't want it at the end, and he did both "win" and "lose" at the end. He broke the loom and created a stable way for everyone to be happy, but he'll never be able to be happy with them. Not to mention, Odin saying "your destiny was to die" really calls Loki's multiple false deaths to mind. Was there some part of him that was like "Yeah, tried dying. Still alive. Is that destiny fulfilled now? What's next?" This edit was beautiful, by the way. Made me stop and think about his story, who he really is.
When he is grabbing the timelines in his hands and revitalizing them, its a contrast to the previous episode, where he felt powerless while watching the timeline he was in unfolding before his eyes, while he coudn't do anything about it. But when he knew his glorious purpose, he was able to do what he failed to do before, but at a much much bigger scale. What a character, what a show, what a God👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
he creates/created and maintained/maintains Yggdrasil... the world tree... so that all of the universes can/will/have coexist/coexisted... because if there is no timeline, there can't be anything.
Loki is also the god of time since he keeps together all the timelines "multiverses" and he can stop time go to the past and future with time slipping.. he is the CORE of the multiverse so he is "THE GOD OF TIME AND STORIES"
I still like to think, that he can make appearances in future Marvel films. He could continuously stay on the throne and probably astral project himself on a specified timeline. After the centuries he spent learning all the physics, he must've grown much stronger than before.
If he is holding all of the timelines together he should have a connection to them so he should be able to see and know how to master every spell and know how to build every device
As much as I would like that to appear, I think the series was closing the door on Loki. Giving him an ending befitting him, but the only appearance Loki would make as the literal god of the multiverse would be if the end of time came. He may meet the Eternals, since their movie left the window for a second to continue their story. But I think Loki has met the end of his, and I think many are happy with how it ended.
That was honestly one the best Whedonisms "kneel' 'not to men like you' 'there are no men like me' 'there are always men like you" just on point dialogue played PERFECTLY
I am literally crying, this is so beautiful. This season, this ending was so beautiful. Loki had one of the best character arcs ever. He finally found his glorious purpose.
it was, indeed, Loki's fate to lose. Except he lost in the most glorious way possible. His Glorious Purpose was to sacrifice everything he wanted for the greater good of those very same things he desired - his friends. Beautiful. (This all coming from the man who was willing to torch NYC because his feelings got hurt)
Loki was/is my favorite myth in Norse Mythology. A fact that less people admit with how he was depicted early in the Marvel Universe. Watching him develop through just his mentions in the movies was something bitter sweet, and the series brought it all together. Been a while since I watched the series, but I will always cry over the fact that the moment he sat on his own throne Thor will have never known what happened to him. Past his death, everything he did to create Yggdrasil will have been erased. His friends he made will forget, the Avengers won't know his sacrifice against Thanos, and Thor will never know what happened to his brother. Still believing that Loki will find his way back from death and cause mischief like the old days.
Loki, the God that made mistakes, hurt innocent people, got lost in his own way... And yet, he gets to find himself back in the way. He finally finds people that can call friends, he gets a second chance, and a reason to make the ultimate sacrifice. Protecting all the timelines, he's burdened with Glorious Porpuse. 💚💚 Thanks Marvel, for bringing up one of the best character developments of the MCU with this Disney+ series. And thanks to the owner of this channel for making this tribute. For all time. Always. 🔥
From hating Loki's antagonistic character in his first Avenger movie appearance to now becoming my favourite marvel character. Damn, what a turn of event.
"Puny God" ~Hulk (2012) "You're the God of mischief but you can be so much better" ~Thor (2017) "You... Will... Never be... A.. GOD" Loki :) *"I know what kind of God I need to be... For u for all of us..."* * * * The circle completed ♥️
From a villain to anti hero to literal saviour of all existence the true god, at end he was the rightful king of that throne after all burdened with a glorious purpose
Gosh his story is so great and I’m so glad I have been a diehard fan since the very first Thor film and I really hope they can return one day and meet again🫶
The link that ties it all together. The greatest story the MCU ever told. The Loki who remains at the end of time, on the throne he deserves, controlling the freedom of every life.
Loki will probably the last MCU project that I'll watch for a long time. Deadpool humor is a little too inappropriate for my liking, and there's really nothing that interests me in the next few years. That Season 2 finale was a WONDERFUL ending to my MCU experience. Thank you Tom, and everyone who worked on Loki
Thank you for this. Totally engulfed what Loki was and became to be. He'll always be one of the most well-written MCU character, he is one of the best.
This show went from being a weird and wonderful vignette about falling in love across time and universes with a different version of yourself to being legitimately one of the greatest stories ever told.
Loki has now become the God of Stories. He dictates when a story begins and ends, and he sees every story told and those that will be told. This is based on Kieron Gillen's run on Loki, which is an incredible read. Also, notice that the first episode of Season 1 is also titled Glorious Purpose
Loki's growth throughout the MCU has been truly remarkable, and the culmination of his character arc in season 2, episode 6 was an absolute masterpiece. Tom Hiddleston's performance as Loki has been nothing short of exceptional, and the way his character has evolved and developed over the course of the MCU is truly captivating. From his introduction as a mischievous and self-serving villain in "Thor" to his transformation into a complex anti-hero in "The Avengers," Loki has undergone a tremendous journey of self-discovery and redemption. We've witnessed his struggles with his identity, his desire for power, and his complicated relationship with his family, especially his brother Thor. The ending of season 2, episode 6 brilliantly encapsulates the culmination of Loki's growth. It serves as a culmination of his journey, where he finally embraces his "glorious purpose" in a way that is both satisfying and emotionally resonant. The episode not only showcases Hiddleston's incredible acting range but also provides a fitting resolution to Loki's character arc. Throughout the episode, we see Loki confront his inner demons, face his fears, and make difficult choices that ultimately lead to personal growth. His journey has been filled with setbacks and heartbreak, but it is through these challenges that he has been able to find his true purpose and become a hero in his own right.
“Everyone fails at who they’re suppose to be…The measure of a person, of a hero is how well they succeed at being who they are.” - Frigga Loki truly succeeded in his story arc. Going from selfish villain to selfless hero. After having spent centuries surrounded by his friends in time loops, he realized in order for their lives to continue, he needed to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to keep them safe: being alone in isolation. That is Loki’s burden. His Glorious Purpose however.. is that he ultimately gets the one thing he’s always wanted: A Throne of His Own. He not only is looking after the remaining timeline branches, he’s looking out for the whole world. The Sacred Timeline (MCU) included. This transforming him into The World Tree that Thor explains to Jane in the first film. His arc is the only arc aside from Stark’s and Roger’s that came full circle. In my opinion, Loki is my favorite MCU character. This show has made me realize that. Best MCU show on Disney+. Definitely giving this one a rewatch.
in mythology there is a world tree connecting all of existence, loki just became the new ruler of a universe that demands a ruler else it spiral into endless dangers and chaos
god what a bittersweet and yet perfect ending for the character. the best character arc in the mcu, the best character, the best production the mcu has released. tom hiddleston gave it all for the character and im so happy for it.
Mobius, Sylvie, all these people..they were the best thing that could have happened to Loki. They brought out the best in him, helped him find the hero within. What a beautiful, heartbreaking, perfect arc and what a magnetic character. This series is a masterpiece of television and I hope we see all of these wonderful characters and actors again in the future MCU! A wonderful tribute 🙏❤️🔥
It's honestly amazing how you can break these stories down to being such heartfelt dedications to characters. I love it. I will love it until time stops.
I don't know how to express such brilliance of thinking behind making this. You have outdone yourself with this edit. Hats off to your hours of work to bring out this beautiful piece of storytelling of a hero whose life was already a misery from the birth and went worse throughout his life because of his mischievous acts in order to attain power over others. Nonetheless, when he got into his senses, he chose to become something more, challenging his inner selfishness and overcoming to become the greatest selfless being, sacrificing his desires in order to give everyone a second chance to live. HE IS LOKI, OF ASGARD, AND HE IS BURDENED WITH GLORIOUS PURPOSE.

You can argue about who the greatest hero is, but Loki has done more than any mcu character has ever done.
Him and Tony Stark carried it entirely more impactful than any other characters they were the most broken.
Loki going from being the most selfish character in the MCU to the most selfless.
From viewing everyone as worthless to valuing all of life.
From wanting a throne to giving up the need to rule which finally allows him to take the throne of all of creation, isolated forever.
He is truly burdened with glorious purpose
He'll be isolated but at least he'll never be bored. He'll bear witness and see everything, all the branches, that level of knowledge makes him an all knowing god at this point.
He got the Ironman treatment
@@PillowEggExactly has to be the strongest God now
For all time. Always.
Perfectly said!
he will be remebered and deeply missed, you know "better to have loved and lost than never loved at all"
Iirc the throne does not sit at the end of time buy outside of time itself.?
my favorite moment in loki S2 is when Sylvie and Loki are argueing about how to fix everything.
In that moment Sylvie says
"Sounds like whatever we do, we're playing God."
and Loki replys with the perfect line
"We are gods."
Loki said he was afaird of being alone, and the show ends with him content with his lonliness now that he is alone protecting the ones he loves. Indeed, the burden of a glorius purpose.
"For you. For all of us. For all time. Always."
The way the creator of this edit has gathered all the scattered words, feelings and the scenes is just MARVELlous!! Hats offffff
Thank you very much!
Summarized it pretty well. From evil being to the most selfless being in the entire galaxy! What an insane character growth and development!
entire multiverse
And most powerful being also.
He is truly burdened with glorious purpose
He also enjoys pizza 🍕
Incredible story. My favorite story of all time.
All hail to The God of Stories.
this is the best thing ive read all week, thank you for sharing brother
Also, Odin says: "No, Loki."
Mobius says: "No!", Sylvie says "Loki!".
Perfection.
" i don't want to be alone" 😭 his purpose is to be alone, to save the universe 😭😭😭😭
I've never actually disliked a character and then loved them.
Loki was "haha Thors brother, lil God a michief. Same, pranks r fun. Lol."
Loki is everything now.
What's next?"
This edit was beautiful, by the way. Made me stop and think about his story, who he really is.
Thank you so much!
I feel like with what Loki had done in the Season 2 Finale, he would be worthy of Mjölnir.
Bro damn u really cooking something right now
Was just thinking the Same.
More like mail or worthy of loli
Yeah i bet so
Mjolnir wouldn't be worthy of being lifted by him.
"You see Loki You’ll always be the god of mischief.....But you could be more “
~THOR
This is an absolutely gorgeous tribute to both Loki, his growth and heart, and Tom Hiddleston's gifts in portraying him.
Thank you so much!
theres a reason why critics say that this is best thing marvel has produced since endgame
In MY OWN OPINION this topped Endgame
@@stepbrobiwankenobi deadpool and wolverine too
Villian becoming a hero to do the ultimate sacrifice is such a satisfying plot.
Best character development Ever, Amazing work on this👌
Thank you so much brother!
Remember when loki try to lift mjolnir now seeing him pulling every multiverse with him is just ❤️💚 says lot
Technically isn’t he lifting every multiverse mjolnirs since he’s lifting every branch timeline
Loki, has now become the time stone itself.
Bro, hes time and space of multiverse, *not* even in one universe. Imagine how powerful he is, or should i say *it* is.
Well, the time Stone IS green after all
he creates/created and maintained/maintains Yggdrasil... the world tree... so that all of the universes can/will/have coexist/coexisted... because if there is no timeline, there can't be anything.
In a way he has become like what red skull became. In a way he is like a guardian but of timelines
And he's green as well. So you're not wrong
With great power comes great responsibility - Loki just learned what Peter did.
Can I admit I am literally crying ?
yes,cuz i am too T-T
I think all of us cried
@@ReginaMourei did not. But this video is still amazing and made me feel some type of way
I was crying too QwQ
Loki is also the god of time since he keeps together all the timelines "multiverses" and he can stop time go to the past and future with time slipping..
he is the CORE of the multiverse
so he is "THE GOD OF TIME AND STORIES"
What a tribute. Just amazing
Thank you!
A well crafted tribute to the most epic developed character storytelling in the entire MCU. 👏🏻
Thank you so much!
You know what this reminds me of? It's like how Wanda can possess the bodies of her alternative selves throughout different universes.
@@VIXXlight_VIXXComeBackdreamwalking😮
"There is no version of this where you come out on top."
lol Tony jinxed into existence the entire plot of the Loki S2 finale 😭
Tom Hiddleson is one of the best actors ,he plays this role perfectly
Gotta say, the way Loki's story ends makes him my new favorite character of the Marvel Universe.
This man just dropped the best edit/trailer/teaser and thought no one would notice
Thank you very much!
Loki be carrying the mcu right now
He was right from the beginning; he was burdened with glorious purpose…
Kudos to Marvel for consistency
The God of everyone's story except his own. Amazing work
Thank you!
it was, indeed, Loki's fate to lose. Except he lost in the most glorious way possible.
His Glorious Purpose was to sacrifice everything he wanted for the greater good of those very same things he desired - his friends.
Beautiful.
(This all coming from the man who was willing to torch NYC because his feelings got hurt)
This! This! This is the one that needs millions of views.
Thank you very much!
Brilliant show... just brilliant...Tom was out of this world
All of this because Loki desires a throne. That speech from Odin was playing on my mind when Loki ascends to the throne at the end of S2
Loki wasnt meant to be Alone. He is with Everyone. Past Present And End.
"There's no verion of this where you end on top" crazy to think he eventually does
He faced his very worst fear, and despite everything, he chose to be alone forever, for a glorious purpose. For all of them.
"For you,for all of us" - loki laufeyson
Loki, the God that made mistakes, hurt innocent people, got lost in his own way... And yet, he gets to find himself back in the way. He finally finds people that can call friends, he gets a second chance, and a reason to make the ultimate sacrifice. Protecting all the timelines, he's burdened with Glorious Porpuse. 💚💚
Thanks Marvel, for bringing up one of the best character developments of the MCU with this Disney+ series. And thanks to the owner of this channel for making this tribute.
For all time. Always. 🔥
Thank you!
Literally the best written character in all of MCU
That was a masterpiece!!!!
One of the best seriously!
You nailed it ! Well done!!!
Thank you very much!
From hating Loki's antagonistic character in his first Avenger movie appearance to now becoming my favourite marvel character. Damn, what a turn of event.
ok im saying it Loki is THE MOST developed and well told story in all of the MCU
bro u rlly had to make me cry for the 20th time cuz ive been alrdy crying for a week since the last episode..
"Puny God" ~Hulk (2012)
"You're the God of mischief but you can be so much better" ~Thor (2017)
"You... Will... Never be... A.. GOD" Loki :)

The circle completed ♥️
From a villain to anti hero to literal saviour of all existence the true god, at end he was the rightful king of that throne after all burdened with a glorious purpose
Gosh his story is so great and I’m so glad I have been a diehard fan since the very first Thor film and I really hope they can return one day and meet again🫶
The link that ties it all together. The greatest story the MCU ever told. The Loki who remains at the end of time, on the throne he deserves, controlling the freedom of every life.
Loki Redeem himself what a marvelous Ending❤❤❤❤
The line " For you, for all of us "❤️🔥🥲
All in favor of Loki being worthy? 2:50 amazing transition!
Yes yes yes
brooooooo, that scene where he screams while destroying the temporal loom would have been a cherry on top, regardless beautiful video
Oh, my GOD. This is the BEST Loki video ever!
Thank you so much!
Greatest character development in the mcu
Loki will probably the last MCU project that I'll watch for a long time. Deadpool humor is a little too inappropriate for my liking, and there's really nothing that interests me in the next few years. That Season 2 finale was a WONDERFUL ending to my MCU experience. Thank you Tom, and everyone who worked on Loki
100% agree. It stands on it own in a way nothing else in the MCU has since the beginning.
Thank you for this. Totally engulfed what Loki was and became to be. He'll always be one of the most well-written MCU character, he is one of the best.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loki is the true hero of the universe as he quite literally holds all of them together.
“You either a villain, or you live long enough to see yourself become the hero.”
Sums up Loki's story pretty well.
This show went from being a weird and wonderful vignette about falling in love across time and universes with a different version of yourself to being legitimately one of the greatest stories ever told.
I don't care what anyone says about Loki being a bad show this will always go down as one of my favorite MCU projects of all time.
The greatest sacrifice is the one where no one even knows you did it... Long live the god of mischief
Technically he’s the god of time not the god of mischief.
His journey has been filled with setbacks and heartbreak, but it is through these challenges that he has been able to find his true purpose and become a hero in his own right.
isnt it ironic every loki has the same fate the same end, bound and chained stuck as a sacrifice so that all may live
Loki has been one of the best and broken villain ever to just become a god of stories, god of the MCU Timeline
“Everyone fails at who they’re suppose to be…The measure of a person, of a hero is how well they succeed at being who they are.” - Frigga
Loki truly succeeded in his story arc.
Loki has always been my favourite character in Marvel since the Avengers. This bittersweet ending breaks my heart.
in mythology there is a world tree connecting all of existence, loki just became the new ruler of a universe that demands a ruler else it spiral into endless dangers and chaos
Truly one of the most extraordinary character arcs in the MCU.
Yes!
Not the God of stories, he is now Atlas custodian of the multiverse
No he is the God of stories in the mcu this is not comics because the writer said it himself this is the movie version of God of stories loki
@@Haha-if9qf but does power levels differs? as in comics characters are too buffed up
god what a bittersweet and yet perfect ending for the character. the best character arc in the mcu, the best character, the best production the mcu has released. tom hiddleston gave it all for the character and im so happy for it.
This is amazing, love the way you weaved all the parts of his story together
Thank you very much!
I just don't know, I feel heartbreak and amazement both at the same time.
This time, my man Loki, if you order me to kneel before you, I will absolutely do so with my head down.
It's honestly amazing how you can break these stories down to being such heartfelt dedications to characters. I love it. I will love it until time stops.
Thank you so much!
This was absolutely marvelous 😢
Thank you!
this edit is perfection. loki is the most powerful of them all now
Thank you!
Damn bro!!! Edit is a stroke of brilliance bro!! Truly a masterful touch🤌
Thank you so much brother!
other fighting for just one planet.Loki sacrifice himself to save every timeline.Loki is by far my favorite character of marvel
A God is above a King and he is the God of Time, Loki!
Crazy how he said freedom was a lie and ended up giving free will to the entire universe by allowing the timelines to grow and branch infinitely.
Thank you so much for your kinds words brother! ❤
