That area of Canada has always intrigued me, I love that type of geology. The rocks, the water, the islands and the magnificent Conifers …wow! I visit the 1000 islands however Georgian Bay has to be on my to-do list.
Gosh what an awesome cruising ground. Absolutely stunning. I get the feeling that Mason likes to jump off the roof of Witness! Fun fun fun. Thank you for sharing.
It's too late now but I notice you struggling with the pronunciation of Beausoleil Island 😂. It sounds like Bo-sa-lay (or Bo-za-lay). What great memories you made on this trip.
I have anchored in these places for many years with my sailboat especially after I retired and lived on my boat for the boating seasons. I'm now too old and beat up for this and miss the lifestyle terribly. However, I get to live vicariously thought your adventures and that of other loopers. I am glad that your experience was so positive and what a great adventure for the children! Cheers!
Cheers! Thanks so much for the comment. This was truly some of the most amazing anchoring of our loop. Glad to be able to share it with you on RUclips.
Kind of glad your trip is coming to an end only because the kids are becoming more and more fearless. I think the same can be said for the captain and first mate as well, LOL. Apparently the captain believes E on the gas gage stands for "Enough" .
Georgian Bay has always been in my blood....spent many summers as a kid at a fantastic boys camp (Camp Beausoleil a YMCA camp on the north tip of Beausoleil Island). Sadly it was demolished in 1981😢. There's just something magical about that ancient Shield landscape thats like nowhere else. As Canadians, we're also influenced by that "Group of Seven" northern Ontario influence. Hoping one day to do the Great Loop myself, but may start with a "mini" loop from here in Toronto around the Trent/great lakes loop. Hope you guys have great memories to cherish and thanks for the great videos...they are enjoyable and informative at the same time. Kevin
You ever get a chance i think its called Kilarney Bay its at killbear provincial park, 3 islands in the middle beaches all around and a cliff diving spot
We did the Georgian bay in 2010 in the same boat. Awesome trip. Tough to find fuel though. We watched an eagle teaching its baby to fish. Baby was pitching tantrums. Watched a large brown bear swim off a small island I had just walked the dogs on. Watch out for large rocks. The gps charts are off quite often.
At about 13:40 it was reported where you stayed the first night. Never in my life have I heard of that island !! Later on in the clip I realized what you where ‘attempting to say. Say it. ‘bow-so-lay’ island. Not perfect phonetics but way better than what was said on the vid. Then at about 15:20 you mentioned Saint Amant’s. Say it ‘san-amaw’s’ Great to hear that you enjoyed my ‘stompin-ground’ so much. So many of the heritage properties you passed on that trip are/were families from the northern States. For example, when at the Moon Falls, you were close to, or passed by Iron City Fishing Club. Originally all Pittsburg families. A few miles north of there… The Pennsylvania Club. From….guess where. And on and on. Good video and come again.
LOL, same. Beausoleil Island. Means ‘beautiful sun’. The area is the old French fur trapper route and the Island is near the town of Midland where one of the oldest Jesuit forts was established in 1640.
Georgian Bay safety rules. Never be in a hurry. Always putt putt if are out of the channel and don't know the waters. Always carry an extra one or two gallon can of gas. Never tie stern lines to trees. It hurts them. In case of breakdowns, always have a cooler full of beer
I went to summer camp near Georgian Bay. I remember hiking and canoeing in and around the bay. Now I feel like I need to do the Great loop.
It is such an amazing area!

It’s an absolute must see for sure.

Ha! 😂 Thanks! This was one of our favorite parts of the whole trip.
Glad to hear all the good times in a great place. What a way to wind up the loop. Will wait for the ending finale of the great loop.
Thanks! We finished strong for sure!
Didn't see much of Georgian Bay! Beausoliel Island is a National Park!
Only have so much time…. We’ll be back! Gorgeous area!
When i was a kid we asa family would sail to frying pan bay and stay for the weekend always beautiful
Hope you will come back to GB someday, best fresh water boating in the world.
We will! It’s some of the best boating we’ve ever done!

We did a trip through that part of Canada this summer. We went to almost all of the places you mentioned. Georgian Bay is amazing!!!
It is so amazing! Thanks!

Sitting in Bustard Islands as I watch this. Your videos have been great to rewatch and to ensure we see more. Thx

We agree!
Great video caught me by surprise a day early

Thanks Kevin! We wish we were headed back this summer! Seems it takes a lifetime to explore this area!

Awesome+
Thanks 🤗
Fun trip! what is the longest boat the Trent Severn chute can accommodate?
I think the lock limitation is something like 80ft or so.

Groovy video
Thanks!
Great vid.
Thanks! We loved this part of our loop!

Recommend not getting caught with the beer on your boat in Ontario. Big fine, per can, either full or empty.
Wow. Thanks!
What is the shallowest water you encountered questioning 5.5 draft boat
We saw 5ft from time to time. Avoiding the narrow winding channels would help. We know it can be done but you may also ding some props.
What’s the Tallest Air Draft you can have on your trip not going through Chicago
19.5ft for the bridge south of Chicago.
