Never understood what's the issue with such builds. As far as I'm concerned, if you're using tools given to you by the game without resorting to cheats, it's fair game.
It probably invalid when winning without learning boss’moves but never understand why its always player fault when using it. It’s actually dev fault for leaving bad balancing and no countermeasures to all build entire game except dodging. Since player always surround with op item, it’s probably dev intention. However, soulwets were too blind too blame frmsft help on casual players.
These type of game are made to be beat anyway, there is nothing to flex about a game that is designed to let you win. So yeah nothing wrong about any build just have fun
@@kishin7apparently thrusting shields have a bug where spamming light attack while guarding consumes basically no stamina. It works well in pvp as well as a lot of pve bosses. Edit this was just patched in the latest update now
@@kishin7im also NG + 2 and managed to beat it until I saw someone how they are struggling in Ng+6 or above. I mean, only if you master dodging all his attacks, otherwise impossible to win, so it becomes a skill issue. And some incredible players can really pull of ‘no damage no armor no shield’

OKAY you know what NO im convinced, Miyazaki must have an insatiable desire to murder children and is looking for any excuse to get away with it. put this man on a watchlist 😂
Used fingerprint with scholars shield and barbed great spear for my run with 17 scadu on NG+ and it was actually one of the only bosses I didn’t need spirit summons for LOL (granted I didn’t use this build for the vast majority of the game at the beginning)
In find those players who use the thorns fair well in the first stage of the fight but not so well with his second form. Casting the impenetrable thorns leaves you too vulnerable. And with Radahn, he leaps around the arena so much and can cover ground so quickly that I usually see those players die quickly.
Satisfying to watch. The problem with this boss is, you don’t have the freedom to use every build you want. You have to have either shield, parry skill, spontaneous block tear, or god like roll skill. Makes it less fun to change build right when you reach there

Ngl given the two NPC summons and the otherwise completely unnecessary AOEs in his fight (you won't even notice the attack radius unless you're cooping) I actually think From intended this.

Unless they try implement new mechanics but in a similar style(like with bloodborne)
I just beat him today after 4 days of suffering (about 10 hours). Yes, it was rewarding. No, I will not be fighting this boss ever again. I don't think they should nerf his 2nd phase, but I wouldn't be sad if that did.
I think if in phase 2 the column of light have the same damage but dont stun player, the fight should be balance and not too overhelm. My only problem is that I dodge the sword, try moving to better place or heal, the column will stun me even if I get hit by just 1. Dodge that column is not worth because I might get caught by the next attack, and dodge to the side have the weird situation where Radahn hitbox make me unable to dodge to his side but stuck in place. Kinda weird they make the column stun this much while they can just make deal damage and still able to punish player for that damage instead of both stun and damage.
@@carter5377yeah supposedly you can lock him into a very small move set by parrying. So if you get the timing down this battle could be more manageable in the long run

The Fingerprint stone shield is found in the secret pathway after the Sewer Mohg boss. And the impenetrable thorns sorcery is in Messmer’s dungeon. You have to drop down from one of the balconies to another level
It’s the fingerprint shield. It’s in the underground sewers of Leyndell Capital. After beating the Sewer Mohg theres a hidden wall that takes you towards the frenzied flame. It’s on the way to that eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Fingerprint+Stone+Shield
Maternal staff actually works better because it has A scaling in both int and arcane. And high arcane helps with the blood loss damage. We care more about the one-hit blood proc than the thorn damage

Second phase happens way too early for this fight to be honest
Thorns do a lot of hits in one cast and all three players were casting it. Radahn probably took dozens of hits in the first couple seconds.

This is the first boss in the dlc where i thought this is bad.
This boss is way overtuned in my NG++ run in phase 2. Phase 2 needs a nerf badly because that shit isn't even fun.

From what I have observed from playing if the host dies and you get the title card for the boss's death, it usually counts.

This boss is best fought as a team of 3: dps tank and heal. Makes the fight feel like a raid boss and actually enjoyable unlike solo play
