My jaw dropped when Carter said his grandfather was in a band called "Jay and the Americans"! I wish Carter at least the same level of success as that band had a half century ago with a name never forgotten by us original boomers. Thanks for the memories as well as the performance.

I saw Jay and the Americans in the 60,s in Seattle, I still have the book I bought with them in it

Gwen was so lovely and supportive of Carter. Her selfless coaching made a huge difference in Carter's talented music career and his life as well.

That was probably the absolute BEST battle I ever heard. They were pitch Perfect in their harmonies, and were both powerful in their performances! Just wow... what a young talent too!

O.k so I'm Australian and didn't get to see this live obviously, but dang, this kid got me right in the feels ❤❤. I'm not too big nor old to say I wept through that entire 39 minutes. Tears of absolute joy, not just for his singing, but his passion for music, his joy of life, his wonderful attitude, his beautiful humility and kindness, and that wisdom beyond his years. Well done Carter and family, you should all be proud. I honestly wish him wonderful things moving forward. But a winner like this, irrespective of age, is going places regardless. Well done Carter, and thank you for shining that light bright enough we got to see, even on the other side of the globe. 🥰👏👍

I agree with you...unbelievable talent in his lifetime...Carter seems an old soul who perfected his music with wisdom and singing ability. Love him from the start of his blind audition. Glad it still shown in the Philippines that time he won. I kept crying when he won...and its an answered prayer for me...what a Christmas gift that pandemic on that year 2020! God blessings ahead of him and his loving family.

There's NO particular song he sung. He's just mesmerizing when he sings. His melodies are out of this world. I love how he can switch his notes. Still can't believe I stumbled upon this singer. He has one of those voices that sounds like he's crying. I surely am. I haven't felt this good since I heard Josh Groban sing almost 20 years ago. This guy is just plain sick. I have played "You Say" at least 20 times now. I just can't "stop" hearing it. Saw Lauren Daigle's version and knew it must be special since her video has been viewed over 250 million times. Yep. Over 250,000,000! That's how beautiful it is. But I've got to say I like Carter's version even better. Something about his voice that just soothes my soul. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I really needed this tonight after everything's that happened in Texas. Music soothes the soul!
