Another reason for this legendary feature to be added is so that realism in beamNG career mode is way better with fixing your car. Imagine you buy a beater for 800 and the engine doesn't work , the body is extremely damaged and everything is smashed. You have barely any money left and you spend it only on the engine to atleast get it running. You keep it like that until you get enough money to do something about it.
3:46 fun fact! There is a livery editor if you select “garage” from the main menu. I use it a lot and you can make any color you can make on the normal color sliders so you can have the decals as a worn finish
All the damage related features would be incredibly handy in the career mode (damage being saved instead of being forced to repair, repair only vital parts necessary without body panels and other cosmetics, differently colored bodypanels...)
I agree on all 7 propositions, but you misses a very important point… real off road physics ! It bother me so much that cars with Summer tires can go through the same trail than a trophy truck without getting stuck !
3:28 Bemang drive already tracks your pc time. Every working clocks in game have your exact computer time and it actually works. So, it shouldn't be hard at all to add sync time .
Yes, i was actually going to add that in the video, then i looked at the car clock and it didnt match 💀 thats why its not in the video, but it works 9/10 times
The last one, multi painted fenders and such. In the latest Career mode, this happens when you repair your car. If you bust a fender, then repair it at the shop, it comes with just primer on that new part and I LOVE that. You can't paint per part yet, but I hope it's coming since this repair to primer paint is a feature now :D
This is alot to read so get ready. ☠️💀💀💀 Street lights are a thing for sure inside of maps. Just look at the 'cyberpunk map' ,they're in many maps for sure. Now that the map creator is added, more people are going to be creating maps and potentially more streetlight added maps. Only thing is you're gonna have to wait on the devs to catch up on this. Just like how they decided to add openables when hundreds of mods where now coming with them. The save maps- i feel like its not that hard to do that. Thing is..... it will take up memory for sure but im sure they'll figure something out. Destruction of signs. That's easy, we already have destructible sign props ,so just add them to the maps, they only have less than 8-10 nodes. A map full of them wont even amount to 3-4 cars (in terms of nodes and the power to run that many). This is DEFINITELY in the works for career mode for sure, reason why is because you could change a part in career mode and it would fix your entire vehicle. That's a big problem for realism and a great thing for cheating or speedrunners. They tried to fix it for now in career mode by not allowing you to change a part if you're vehicle is damaged so you can't cheat, but the problem is it doesnt always work when its a 'small' amount of damage ,like when only a broken bumper. And the fact that you can't save up on money and fix only what is needed. For example; you got a $500 beater ,engine dont work and whole thing is smashed to bits, and you bought it since you have barely any money and you only can spend it on fixing the engine so you can use it until you get some money to do stuff. Selection fixing , this one is interesting since it sounds hard but i feel like its not really that hard to implement once you get it though. You could make a mapping to the fix feature like -'press ShiftLock+P and use RightClick to activate it by the actual part glow orange (pressing shiftlock again will deactivate it). Since some parts are through the car, you would have to press an additional (..S) for the car to go translucent, and all parts will have a faint orange outline and until the mouse goes over it ,it will turn a faint orange haze and you click it to fix it. That would be real good. Real time sync is probably the easiest to implement out of all of these, there is already a night and day cycle that's present and the sun will move across the sky , so they just need to get the info on the time around you. One way to make it more challenging is to map the weather around you using volumetric clouds (already a really good mod in the game) and low and high levels of : Rain, wind, snow, temps. THAT would be cool. Different beater panels. Infact ,that's already a thing in beamng career , you crash your door into another car and you go get it fixed and they replace the door with a unpainted version or a different coloured door that is from another car.
@@fourhua DONT, definitely wait , i wont tell you too much then, thats what everyone's doing cause they want to play the full thing. Anyone you know that wants to play it ,tell them to wait for it to fully come out. It'll be more fun for sure. Make sure you see no blog report about it.🤣
I agree with all of these. For me, the street lights need to be implemented soon so we can experience these incredible maps at night. Great video man, I hope you are doing well.
Street Lights: There's a GTA III Liberty City map I found that has working lights, but which is still pretty, uhm, light. Compared to East Coast or West Coast modded with lights, it fared pretty well. I believe those are more baked into the map, rather than being all cast in real-time, but they do disappear during the day, I'm not entirely sure. Comparing it to this Vice City map, the version with lights is pretty heavy at night, on my PC it drops to high SINGLE DIGITS, up to low 10s. There was a "Christine" mod I remember that was like, your car would fix by itself, slowly, although it wouldn't regain body parts, and I'm not sure if it would fix broken components, but it would be nice if it did. The fact it does so slowly could be neat for fixing the car, but not 100%, like, trying to bend parts back into shape, but no need to go 100%. It could have a system for calculating repair costs, and you would choose by how much you wanted to fix. To add my own, I love how the game, while not having as many vehicles as some other games, has a ton of different trim levels, engine options, custom pieces, and even different interior options, both for color and sometimes also design. What I wish the game had, was setting the trim piece, wheel/hubcap and interior color options you would have with each specific trim, as well as body color too, like in the Test Drive Unlimited series. Some body/interior color combinations don't look so good, so limiting it (but allowing you to customize it more precisely afterward) would be pretty cool.
dirt and scratches are like the No.1 thing for me that they need to add asap, with only this two things the immersion will be even more incredible than it is now, street lights would also be a very cool addition.
1:48 I also thought about that, it would be a great addition, especially considering the fact that we already have "destructible" road signs as props 3:28 It's already in the game in the career mode when you repair your vehicle and don't paint replaced bodypart
Maybe for the selective repair, you can hold C and R simultaneously to only repair critical parts. Meaning the engine, transmission, drivetrain, fuel source, and the maybe straighten the frame or at least align the wheels so the car tracks straight, even after smacking into a pole.
hey on the part selector theres a button with text apply changes automatically u can select as many parts and when ur done u can reset and have these parts :D
I think the selective repair feature would be on the easier side of features to add. The game already knows what breaks since it tells you what broke. Now just add a list of broken parts to the menu and a “fix” button. It’ll replace/fix what’s broken but leave every other part in the same condition.
different coloured body parts is already a thing in career mode if you take parts from a car thats a different colour and put them on your car or if you buy new ones/repair your car so it shouldn't be that difficult to implement
I think right now, the biggest quality of life change I'd like is a rework of synchronizer damage. As it is now, it is incredibly unrealistic and cumbersome. At least a way to fully disable it without switching to a sequential transmission would be nice
i think that night time needs a lot of work in general, street lights would definitely be an improvement but the world lighting is pretty naff and night just looks so bad in beam
Yeah and the thing is ,it could really look legendary ,have you seen the 'cyberpunk map' ,that's got a ton of lights, it's crazy and you can see what beamng can do ,it doesn't seem as tanking as you'd think. The problem would be on beamMP.
I really like the idea of streetlamps if it works. Driving the crown vic with police lights on cuts my FPS bu sometimes 20 and I have a decent computer. I'd like to see the lighting revised again as some of the reflections particularly at night and with transparent materials is weird and bugged out.
Career mode already has the changing panel color when you crash your car and when it gets repaired, the formerly destroyed panels will be repainted the base color. So technically, it is there, just not easily available. But surely mods could do it now
What I want even more than streetlights are actually functional vehicle lights. Why do we need to put the high beams on just to see 2 feet ahead of us? Hazards also don't work with the ignition completely off, and flashing the highbeam turns on all the other lights.
Many of these could be solve with a mechanic mode where you can selectively take parts off and manualy replace them those would alow paneling and selective fixing and could even add a whole new level of depth if you could wreck a car tow it and fix it yourself!
One thing I cannot stand in beamng is tire adhesion physics. I mean it's way easier to drift in reality, than in beamng. And I played a lot sims... And still play them.
Career mode has mismatched panels. After an accident when you repair the car the panels dont match up. Also if you take the door from one car you can put it in another car to have it mismatch
I wish the added co-op not multiplayer since beammp already does this. But a co-op campaign would be awesome or just adding your friends into your world would be nice for rp without having to deal with beammp issues of guys in busses and constantly customizing cars

Sadly, porting a game from one engine to another isn't as easy as pressing a 'convert' button... The backend would need to be completely remade from scratch again, and even though UE5 comes with amazing out-of-the-box graphics, the optimization isn't great. I haven't seen a single UE game that doesn’t have that distinct UE physics feel to it. (Assetto Corsa Competizione comes close, but Kunos had been working on custom physics for years.) The sole reason BeamNG is where it is now is because of the endless customization possibilities that the open-source Torque3D engine gave the developers
Almost every game is on unreal nowadays, I'm sick of it. Killing variety in engines is just sad and has been happening for a long time. beamng needs bug fixes and performance inprovements. They dont care about fixing anything anymore but instead just adding useless liverlys for cars nobody use
that's actually not true. look at the patch notes for v0.33; 2/3 of all changes were aimed at making the game more stable and optimized. From what I've seen and heard from others, the Vulkan renderer optimizations *drastically* improved performance for many
