Great video Connie. Thank you! I have a small collection of Pitt Artist Brush pens and recently got a set of 12 of the Staedtler Pigment pens after seeing them on your channel. They're fun to use and are a really useful addition to my supplies. Your comment "Did I need it? No, but holy cow is it fun!" should be printed on shirts, mugs and stickers for the colouring community. 😂
Coloring along with someone who is not a expert is comforting and non threating to all of us amateurs'. I like when you share the items that you will color with, it may bring to light, a new item to someone who was previously unaware of that items existence. And you just really have a nice non grating voice that is just so pleasant to listen too as well.
That's true - I hadn't thought of it that way. Thanks for helping me to think about it differently. :) And I'm so glad that you're enjoying the videos!
Nice haul! I also purchased the same little Canon printer and case! I use my printer for two things at the moment. One, for my reading journal. I print the book cover to go with my rating and thoughts. I am a visual learner so for me, seeing a picture is everything. The other reason is for my 5 year journal. I have a small Hobonichi 5 Year journal that I bought in February on Amazon. I write on the left and add pictures, stickers, mementos on the right side. For the Olympics I am actually writing down how the Canadians do each day on the right side. I want to go back next week and use gold, silver, and bronze pencil crayons to colour little medals in for each day. That Zig marker set looks pretty sweet! I am interested to see your completed pages when you use these.
Thanks, i will certainly check that out. I never even knew there were 180 colors. I thought the complete set was 120, so I'm super excited. Thank you for enabling me, hahahaha
Hi Connie lovely haul hun I have brought anything for a few months now but I did get a couple of things that’s coming for my birthday I have coming the open stock chromaflow pencils ✏️ from cult pens 🖊️ only 28 is available to buy they are coming in a Tin I’m hoping it gets hear before the 29th of April.. I have those flair gel pens they are lovely ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊xxxx
The Pitt Pens and their Staedtler cousins are so, so awesome to use for colouring, aren't they? :) Hoping to really use the Zig Clean Colour pens soon to get a feel for them and their colour range!
Hi connie, i have the zigg real brush markers and they are awesome, but i did not use them anymore just like the pit pens, so stupid! You work with waterbesed markers (also Jackie from spare room studio) and you and Jackie triggered me to use them again! 😃 i bought the woodland watercolor coloring book to try it out better! Thank you!!!! Ps, i have them in a smaller case where i can put 300 pens inside..
Nice haul. I have been considering the Zig real brush pens for a while. I just got a couple to try them out. Along with a few other zig pens. I love them. Now I am considering getting them all. Do I need them? Nope. LOL they are pretty awesome. So not I am trying to decide if I want them or one of the other zig pen sets.
I had been wanting them for awhile, too, and I finally gave in. :) All the Zig products are lovely and high quality - I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you decide! :)
Hello Connie beautiful supplies and the Korean books. I would really love to see you do a page in one of the three books that are so adorable with your Zig Brush pens. Thankyou for your time.💕💕💕
Glad you liked it! :) I'm really wanting to try the Zig pens in a variety of books (with different paper) to see where they will work the best - those cute books will definitely be one I try! :)
Very nice haul Connie! I'm definitely a new Subscriber🎉 I have a small Kodak photo printer last year for my birthday for journaling that I hardly use. You may have have me an idea as to start using mines..
So glad I gave you a new idea for your tiny printer! I had seen something similar on some other channels - it's wonderful when we can all get ideas from one another. :) And thank you so much for subscribing!
Hi Connie, you made me laugh so much, “so this happened” so funny 😂. Enjoy your bits and bobs, we can’t take our money with us, and supplies give us so much joy. Another great video 😊
I love Flair gel pens. I have been using them for 2 years and have reordered them again. Yes the black is very nice and I use it a lot. Something to watch out with them is the caps not staying on well so I keep mine in a ziplock bag to help keep the ink contained and to help them not dry up. Outside of this not bad at all and the price makes it a must in my coloring kit.

Some very good points - thank you for sharing! I think you're right - my brain tends to always go to "teach mode" where I assume I need to always be teaching. :) I'll have to try to remind myself that folks don't always need to have me "teach" them - sometimes, it's ok to just hang out and colour together. :)

What a fantastic idea! 😍
So glad you're liking the videos! And thanks for the feedback - maybe I'll try to get a few colour-a-long videos recorded and we'll go from there. :) I'm excited to get working on the journal idea - I just need to wait for the school year to be over. Darn day jobs getting in the way of colouring. ;) :)
Hello art journal! You can make your new leather book and your camera to make art journal pages out of your printed coloring pages! Just a thought ❤ I haven’t bought any new supplies since my 100 inktense set last month but I did get a new puppy! His name is Jupiter (he fits in with Jen, Justin, Jackson, and brother cat Jasper) and boy does he take up a lot of my time! He likes to play in my bed, where I do most of my coloring, and he likes to play this game when I’m shading he puts his little teacup yorkie butt right on the page and bite the end of my pencil! Right now he’s watching from my shoulder since I have an avalanche of pillows behind me 😂 so hello from Jupiter too!
Loved the video! I immediately went to Amazon and got two sets of those Flair Glitter pens, one for me and one for my daughter! I too am always on the lookout for a nice black glitter gel pen! Thanks so much for sharing!! 🤗💕
I have the same huge black case!! I find it useful, and I love that it's possible to fit one marker per slot (I don't like the multi-pencils bands). But in the end I found it too big for my small coloring space, so I resized to several smaller cases, so I can only take out what I need each time
Love those Zig markers! The fine brush and all of those greens would be perfect for Leila Duly’s Walk in the Woods…I just received that book and it’s quite intricate! Great haul!
Gotta say I love your channel Connie! I have three pencil cases that are actually the size of suitcases - they hold over 500 pencils, I can't imagine taking it out of the house! Great haul (the Zigs!)
Glad you're liking the channel! :) I know - those huge cases are truly HUGE. :D I never take my colour stuff out of my house, though, so it works for me. I think a person would need a wheeled case to move any number of those big cases!
Hello, congratulations on such a great haul. I can't wait to see what you do with the things that you got. I don't use markers but I am considering to start. I have to learn how. I would love how to use the Faber Castell pit pens they look interesting. Thank you for sharing. Happy coloring ❤❤❤
hey Connie nice haul. those kuretake are like so many quality japanese products so expensive over here in the uk, but very nice none the less. I find the japanese and korean colouring books so beautiful. I had the spectrum noir classic alcohol markers, was trying to get full set of 216 after saving up for ages. But when i went on uk website they no longer sell them or the refills so was absolutely fuming. when i contacted them they didnt know when the re-branding would be complete, So what are they doing with all the old stock I wonder? The sales person suggested i start getting the illustrator pens, so I enquired if they were open stock or in sets, only to be told no just selling them in sets till they depleted existing stock. Am so shy of getting anymore alcohol markers now. I cannot afford copics, and am contemplating ohuhu but with so many options am just overwhelmed. the winsor & newton ones seem pricey but would have to buy a set of one ran out. Loved watching your marker collection video but still uncertain if i really need a set of alcohol markers and if i did which set would fulfill my FSS lol. Thanks for reading the rambling.
No apologies necessary for rambling - I do it all the time! :) I think, at this point, it looks like investing in any sets of markers from Spectrum Noir might not be a great plan. :( I don't think they're producing the refills anymore and there seems to be something wonky with the marker bodies/caps that means that the markers dry out within a year or two even if they are shrink-wrapped and brand-new/unused. It's really too bad. With the Winsor & Newton markers, you wouldn't have to buy a set if one ran out - they are available through open stock. They are pricey, though, and they aren't refillable. The Ohuhu markers that have a brush end and a chisel end are the Honolulu series so if you search for "Ohuhu Honolulu" on Amazon, you should get the brush/chisel markers (if that's what you were looking for :)). Alcohol markers can be a big investment - I totally get it!
Does anyone need all the art or craft supplies we buy? But they sure are fun to play with :D Could you provide a link to the tiny printer? I've seen people use thermal printers for labels but these would be useful for my journal. I don't have a separate coloring journal but I do have a bullet journal for habit tracking and memory keeping. I would love to be able to print small minis of my colored pages and stick them in the journal!
This is the link to the printer on Amazon Canada: www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0BGM5WRQ1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 It comes with a small pack of the paper but I bought an extra 50 pack. :) The case that I have is also extra but you should see it listed as part of a bundle with the printer. Hope that helps! Enjoy your journaling! :)
Hey Connie! I really want to see you use your new zig pens in the wood watercolor book. If I can be brave enough to try watercolor paint, would you like to pick a page to start our books off??
I'm hoping to do exactly that :) but it may not be until late May/June - after the school year ends. If you'd like to wait until then, contact me and we can see what we'd like to do. :)
Connie if these things make you happy that's all that matters. As dar as us needing any of our bazillion supplies none of us need them lol. Would you be willing to do a video watching out and using your new Zig markers? I'd live to see them.
Very true! :) I've already swatched the Zig pens ('cause I'm a swatching nerd and I usually can't wait to swatch new supplies - but I didn't do it on camera :)) but I can definitely try to record a video using them in some colouring books!
Ahahaha, just like you I got my hands on a set of watercolor real brush pens (the Ohuhu set tho, they're cheaper!) for my birthday (It's ok if someone else gets them for you right?) and have been playing with them this month. I've discovered they're not quite like watercolors on most paper due to low water content so the paper just absorbs the color and you can't move it much with a water brush, but you CAN dilute the color by dipping the brush of the pens in a TINY bit of water for a second or two to get lighter coloring. It's been fun learning to use them!
Excellent tips - thank you!! :) I was playing around with the Zig pens on a Colorya mandala book and the really smooth paper seemed to help the ink to stay on the surface longer and allowed me to move it around but I could definitely see where it would be more difficult to move the ink on other types of paper. I'm now curious to try them on a variety of papers to compare (could be a video to come :)). Have fun with your pens! :)
Just asking for suggestion for a recommendation on which way to go because I own the 90 set, so if I bought the B and C set, how would I get the other colors that now come in the 120 set, do they sell another 90 set including the other 90???thank you in advance for your help and by the way love your pages and videos, and hauls of course lol❤❤❤
I think if you have the 90 set then if you bought sets A, B, and C that would give you all 180 colours. I don't think they sell a 90 set with all the new colours - you have to buy them as 3 sets of 30 each. If you look at this link, you can see what all three of those sets look like: www.markersupply.com/zigclcorebrm.html I can't guarantee that Marker Supply has the best price but at least you can see what the sets look like so you know what to look for at other places. :) Hope that helps!
I've seen the felt tip version on Jet Pens but only in 4 different packages of 12 pens each. They do have a colour chart, though, for the colours currently available - it's one of the pictures in the product listing here: www.jetpens.com/Kuretake-ZIG-Clean-Color-FB-Felt-Tip-Brush-Pen-12-Color-Set-Pure/pd/20392 I'm like you - I'm waiting for open stock availability to try out some greens. :)
Faber Castell also now makes Goldfaber Sketch markers which are an alcohol-ink markers. :) But the one I compared in the video to the Black Edition marker was a Goldfaber Aqua Dual marker, yes. :)
Hi Connie !!! Wow !! Amazing Haul !! Im so Jelly ! Ive always wanted those Zig clean color brush pens !! I have the zig dot markers from way back when my main thing was journaling, and they are incredible quality ! . Japanese products are just the best !! I wanted to ask you about the MoriMori bear book ! I love it and i want the Japanese version because i dont like have a colored image side by side of the the uncolored one, thats why i dont really get Korean books. Can you tell me the name of the book ? Im planning an Amazon Japan order in May for my birthday so id love to get that one. By the way thanks for the mention !! Hope you have a wonderful weekend !! And get some coloring in ! Dont be hard on yourself !! We are all guilty of buying too much coloring stuff. Ive been trying to color every time i feel like shopping even if it means bringing a book to bed instead of ordering things on my phone ! Haha sometimes im successful and sometimes not ! Good luck hun ❤❤❤❤
So glad you liked the video! I know - the Japanese products are so pricey but I think the quality and longevity (and the fact that I can get open stock replacements for individual colours) makes them a good investment. (At least - that's what I'm telling myself. ;) :)) This is the link on Amazon Japan for the Japanese version of the Momoro the Bear colouring book: www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/%E3%82%82%E3%82%82%E3%82%8D/dp/483730883X/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2AKAZE1Q3ICOH&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9._8Gfzw_5o70Wq2X2xQb4ow.c3sBUybyiYuOGc5UwGQN0nwMTZ7bLd7g_c2kFo6-ggQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=9784837308836&qid=1713642073&sprefix=9784837308836%2Caps%2C187&sr=8-1 Hope you're having a lovely weekend, too!
Fun video! Love your choices in coloring books. You've made an investment in Zig brushes for your coloring channel. I can't wait to see what you do with them and am looking forward to your color alongs! #Kuretake #Zig #Zigclean take note and send Connie some love!
So glad you liked the video! I'm too little and unimportant for Kuretake to take notice of me :) but I love the idea of viewing my purchase as an investment. :) Thank you!
This is the link to the four season watercolour book (I hope that's the one you mean :)).www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1653653486/new-four-season-watercolor-coloring-book?click_key=ba565941bf80f3e52a8a6e92ae3e33187553b62c%3A1653653486&click_sum=7dc7e48f&ref=shop_home_recs_1&crt=1&sts=1 Hope that helps!
It is GIANT! :) I have it sitting horizontally on the top of a shorter bookcase (so the pens inside stay horizontal) but the bookcase has a deeper top so it fits. It's definitely tricky to find a place for it, though!
Hi Connie. Wonderful haul. I have watched this video a few times. I have never ordered from Blick before. How was your experience? Is the shipping and exchange decent for shipping to 🇨🇦? Thank you in advance.
I have the opportunity where I live to have things shipped to a place in the States and then I can drive to pick them up and bring them back myself so that's what I've done in the past. :) The one time I had Blick ship my order to Canada, I did have to pay a brokerage fee - I wasn't expecting that additional cost so that surprised me. The actual shipping experience was fine and everything arrived in good condition, though. Hope that helps!
I bought it from Etsy: www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1057406094/new-four-seasons-coloring-book-korean?click_key=b3b5eaed37efff31cc3aba2627e79300a1f35952%3A1057406094&click_sum=6bcd76da&ref=shop_home_recs_1&sca=1&sts=1 Hope that helps!
Connie, don’t feel bad I caved and bought 21 markers as cult pens are running their annual 3 for 2 that was my justification abd I’m sticking to it. Crafters companion have announced they’ve been having financial difficulties so I’m a bit worried regarding refills now 😢
That 3-for-2 sale is always fantastic! :) And yes - I'm not entirely sure what's going on with Crafter's Companion. I did a little digging and found the same thing - they seem to be in quite a bit of financial difficulty. I was recently watching a video by "What Becky Did Last Night" and she went through and tested her full collection of SN Classique and Illustrator markers after moving from the UK to California and a very large majority of them had dried up in just 18 months. Even the ones that were brand new and shrink wrapped had dried up. Her video is here if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/NdQEI31XEA8/видео.htmlsi=yOZaQQ6_02Bt7AvV
@@colouringchemist I had this issue with what I call new model (hexagonal body) SPN replaced them all and eventually admitted there was an issue with a batch of open stock across all colours, at the point of supply. However they couldn’t weed them out as they mixed shipments of open stock together once arriving at their dispatch warehouses so each colour essentially became one pile, for end consumer dispatch. This made no sense to me as surely you’d stock rotate even your own stock before mixing to sell to make sure lot a sold before lot b etc like you I enjoy some of the colours particularly the corals so I persevered now wondering if they’ll just become an expensive pile of single use plastic with no refill options 😔
@@scottcullen2832 I like the coral colours, too. :) It is sad and frustrating. I wonder if the company will be able to continue forward. I found a listing on a UK govt website that shows they've been doing a lot of filing recently regarding charges (which I think refers to unpaid debts). I guess we can only wait and see.
@@colouringchemist hi Connie, quick update, I’ve live chatted with SPN/CC this evening, the official word is the product markers, refills across the spectrum noir line are being redeveloped pending a summer launch, therefore all products as we know them have been withdrawn from sale with no chance of restock, including individual markers. Additionally they cannot confirm whether the new line will follow the colorista branding that they only relaunched last year, or whether new products e.g. refills will be compatible with legacy products at all. Due to the fact that product development is still with the design team and they have no further information even though launch of the new design is less than a quarter away. Needless to say I expressed my concern at the significant investment I and others will have made based on the fact that the spectrum noir product was designed to be refillable, and now that it’s looking like it won’t be how can they have gone into product development without any consideration for compatibility with legacy products. Unfortunately, all they could offer was apologies and reiterate, the fact that the product is still with the design team even though it’s due to launch in less than three months? So all in all it’s not looking very good. As I mentioned I’m not even sure whether the branding will follow the format of the relaunched colourista line, as apparently they don’t know either all in all not very good for my PR point of view for the company, but that seems to be as much information as it is on the ground at the moment. 😊
@@scottcullen2832 Thank you so much for sharing that with us, Scott. That's very frustrating for their customers, indeed. All of their re-branding did start to make me wonder. Usually, companies that are doing well don't tend to re-brand their products on an almost continuous basis.
Just blame it on us Americans. We probably deserve it. Don’t worry, I’ll always enable you! lol. I’m a stress shopper too. Now if only I could afford to buy all the supplies I wanted. And justify those I do.
Can u post the name of the color of the faber castell marker that u said is good for sky, water, glass i would like to purchase a couple on dickblick please and thanks
Absolutely! The Pitt Pen that I use for glass/water/sky is called Light Indigo 220. It's a wonderful colour that doesn't appear in any of the other Faber-Castell lines (it's not in their Polychromos line or any of their others). Hope that helps!
I think there are 80 colours total. They're sold in sets but there will be duplicates between all the different sets. I don't think they have a big set of 80 - the largest set I've seen is 36. You can buy all 80 colours through open stock on Dick Blick, though: www.dickblick.com/products/lyra-aqua-brush-duo-sets/ Hope that helps! :)

I have the same huge black case!! I find it useful, and I love that it's possible to fit one marker per slot (I don't like the multi-pencils bands). But in the end I found it too big for my small coloring space, so I resized to several smaller cases, so I can only take out what I need each time
It is a GIANT case! :) We'll see if I like the size of it to work from. :)
Love those Zig markers! The fine brush and all of those greens would be perfect for Leila Duly’s Walk in the Woods…I just received that book and it’s quite intricate! Great haul!
Oooo... Definitely something I'm going to try! :) Glad you liked the video!
I just love watching you Connie 💖💖
Awww... I love watching you, Lucy!! :)
Hello, congratulations on such a great haul. I can't wait to see what you do with the things that you got. I don't use markers but I am considering to start. I have to learn how. I would love how to use the Faber Castell pit pens they look interesting. Thank you for sharing. Happy coloring ❤❤❤
I'm hoping to record and share some colour-a-long videos using the Pitt Pens to help folks learn how to use them for colouring - stay tuned! :)
hey Connie nice haul. those kuretake are like so many quality japanese products so expensive over here in the uk, but very nice none the less.
I think, at this point, it looks like investing in any sets of markers from Spectrum Noir might not be a great plan.
Funny. I’m in the process of destashing all my junk journal supplies. 2 rooms. Goodwill.
This is the link to the printer on Amazon Canada: www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0BGM5WRQ1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
It comes with a small pack of the paper but I bought an extra 50 pack. :) The case that I have is also extra but you should see it listed as part of a bundle with the printer.
Hope that helps! Enjoy your journaling! :)
@@colouringchemist Thank you very much, appreciate the link!
@@sugarcandy243 You're welcome! :)
@@colouringchemist ok, will do. I am retired, so time has less meaning to me...but I am hesitant to try watercoloring.
@@veronicadunn565 I'm scared, too - but we can do it!
@@colouringchemist That sounds like a great video idea!! I'd love to see what you learn from experimenting!
Hope that helps!
Very interested in the colours of the Zig real brush pens. I'm waiting on the version with the felt tip to buy open stock. Edit: a bit too quick 😂
I've seen the felt tip version on Jet Pens but only in 4 different packages of 12 pens each. They do have a colour chart, though, for the colours currently available - it's one of the pictures in the product listing here: www.jetpens.com/Kuretake-ZIG-Clean-Color-FB-Felt-Tip-Brush-Pen-12-Color-Set-Pure/pd/20392
I'm like you - I'm waiting for open stock availability to try out some greens. :)
@@colouringchemist some nice light colours in there for basing or blending.

Such nice things and I think you should just enjoy them. Of course my friends say I’m the worst or best enabler according to your point of view😂😂
So true - point of view is important! :D
Are your goldfaber not aquas? I did not know they had anything else. They are great for aquarelle , like pencils

(At least - that's what I'm telling myself. ;) :))

Just want to say Hello and thank you.
Hello and you're welcome! :)
I have that big black case for my markers.
I love it! Only problem is it is to big to store anywhere 😂

Not at all. :) I know - there are so many beautiful supplies out there. Thanks for chiming in!
I was born in 1986, August 5th.
Cool! :)
Does anyone know how many colors total come in the Lyra markers?
I think there are 80 colours total. They're sold in sets but there will be duplicates between all the different sets. I don't think they have a big set of 80 - the largest set I've seen is 36. You can buy all 80 colours through open stock on Dick Blick, though: www.dickblick.com/products/lyra-aqua-brush-duo-sets/
