Oh my , that mixed set of Caran dache is literal heaven ❤. It’s very clear you’re beating yourself up about comfort spending , try not to let that drown out the joy of owning and using them , you’ve got them now and everything you bought is gorgeous and will last you such a long time . I think you need to let the guilt go and be kind to yourself xx
Connie if the lead in your color pencil breaks, it was probably dropped and the fractures are throughout the lead. When it gets in the 80 degree F. temperature take any color pencil that has been breaking on you, place them in your car in a sunny area, make sure you have your windows up, and leave them in the car for about 3 hours, the heat will heal the fractures and you should have a pencil as good as new. Don't microwave them, some of the inks on the pencil describing color or number are metallic and will arc in the microwave. I don't blame you for buying what you want when you want them, if you can afford them, go ahead. I recently twisted my knee, and I can relate to pain and frustration. Right now I can not afford to buy what I want, but should my situation change I will spend a certain amount each month until I get what is on my current list. Thanks for sharing.
Great haul Connie. In my opinion guilt is the biggest wasted emotion a human being can have, guilt is felt after the fact, we can’t change it. So with that enjoy your supplies, have fun in your creative journey. I too have purchased large amounts of supplies, we only live once. Thank you for sharing your haul. Now I have to check my big brush Pitt pens 😂😂😂
I smashed my kneecap up falling on Christmas Eve, so I understand you completely, I have spent so much money in the last 6 weeks, just feeling sorry for myself, books, pencils, glittery mediums. I am on first name terms with the Amazon driver lol.
Those swatch strips are genius. I almost like swatching more than I like actually colouring. And I love that you store some of your new supplies in a Boston Pizza takeout container. Great haul video. And hi from Nova Scotia.
:D Those takeout containers are the perfect length to store some longer supplies horizontally! :) And hello to a fellow Canadian - glad you found the channel! :)
No judgment, buying art supplies is something that brings you relief and joy. These items will bring you years of happiness. I hope your back feels better soon!❤
The thing I found that cleans the gel crayon out of the brushes really well is rubbing alcohol. I just put some on a paper towel and rub the brushes on it until the color stops showing up on the paper towel. Great part about this is that there’s almost no drying time and they’re ready to use right away again. Also cleans my Caran D’Ache palette pretty much back to pristine white again.
I am trying two things this year to be more mindful with my purchases: (1) a wish list which is just in my notes app, not on amazon. So I don’t just have to click a button to buy. And I will wait some time and then go through it and delete what I am no longer interested in or can’t even remember putting there. (2) a list of empties, which I will only repurchase I actually miss them.
I find your videos really useful, personally. I discovered the pitt artist pens in your videos, and I adore them (I would really like that video on the white one, I never used it...). I have a similar problem to yours, but with food. I love sweets, and I have been battling with my weight my whole life. Every time I tell myself that I don't need yet another piece of chocolate... but then I stress eat and feel guilty after. I read some studies, and actually getting berated or called out doesn't really help to stop the behaviour, it just intensifies the guilt. So try not to berate yourself too much :) Your purchases are not harming your health nor anyone else :)
I'm so happy to see you back! Please have as much compassion for yourself as you would for a family member or a friend. I don't believe that anyone is being hurt as a result of your purchases so you keep doing you. I ordered the big brush Pitt pens because I like to cover large areas and I don't want to waste my smaller size set. I immediately ordered that wreath book. I've seen it so many times and have been in love with it each time - this time was enough for me to make the plunge. I found the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens interesting. I love Wink of Stella, but am interested to see how these look in comparison. Thank you for the video and enjoy those supplies!
Hi Connie great haul😊 I encourage you to be kind and gentle to yourself. Dealing with stress or pain in our bodies or the many other things there are is challenging and not easy. Being kind to unselfish is important. Take care and hope your back gets better very soon.😊❤️
Enjoy everything. What you can't stand owning, give to someone who likes that brand. Some brands work for different things. Some things might not be meant for a coloring book format. You have shared some products with me that I had no idea even existed. I have been around this genre of RUclips since Fall 2021. I have been interested in Art for 46 years. I don't do shows or sell my art. I just enjoy. I enjoy you because this is like talking shop. Thank you.
Hi Connie! Don’t be so hard on yourself! The only thing you got to do is enjoy your stuff!!! I saw some interesting things like the clear sparkle pens, so thank you for showing!!! Be careful with your back!
No judgment here, Connie. I believe a lot of us can relate. I want Caran D’ache Supracolors as well. Enjoy your beautiful combined set. I’ve heard the Museum Aquarelles are heavenly. Take care, and hope your back is feeling better. ❤🤗
Oh Connie, silent subscriber here. I loved this video so much, you made me laugh so much, enjoy your supplies, we all overspend on our art supplies. It makes us feel a bit ashamed but we have that compulsion that we need that art supply and we need it now. I love that you buy things in 5, I buy things in 3, I can’t help myself, something takes over my brain 😂. I always say that’s it, I’m not buying anything else, then I’m back on Amazon looking at colouring books and pencils and acrylic paint and anything else that my heart desires 😂. I now have 233 things in my Amazon basket!!!
we all do the same thing!!!! I love most of my supplies and have regrets as well. I love your videos. I know the guilt is real. But the joy is real too!!! You are delightful to watch and learn from!!! Not going anywhere!!! Great job....welcome to being a human being. We all need breaks from this world we live in!!! Everyone has to escape sometimes....enjoy!!!!I look forward to more videos!
Judge free zone here. I also had a plan in place that is just not working for me either. Stress buying is my number one problem. Because I can't color or craft usually when I'm in that mode, I do a lot of planning in my head and buy for the free time I want, not for the time I have 😆 it gives me something to look forward to if life is just really hitting me hard. It's a treat just like a fancy coffee or a massage or new clothes, It's just treating ourselves with different stuff. The only thing that has helped me from completely going off the rails for 2024 is putting stuff in a wish list until the end of the month or at least waiting a few days to buy. If I can get past that immediate want usually I can make more mindful choices. That combined set of supracolors hand museum aquarelle...GENIUS. I absolutely adore my museum aquarelle watercolor pencils and I totally agree with you that they dissolve the best I've seen with the best color payout. The only complaint I've had other than the price is that they're only 76 colors, but supplementing with the other set a great idea! Need to buy some of the Supracolors open stock to try them out.
I do stress buying too. The way i look at it, im not buyin drugs or going out clubbing. This is my hobby and and the only thing i buy for myself. And i do have a small income. But i make up for it buying good bargain supplies. Dont feel bad.
As long as you use these items, then just enjoy them. They all looks useful. I did buy those pencil extenders and happy with them ❣️The deco pens (acrylic paint pens) you showed are not the brush pro which is their pigment ink pens so maybe retake a look at which series you bought.
❤️ And thanks for the clarification on the Karin pens, Jody! I always thought the Brushmarker Pro markers were dye-based and the Pigment DecoBrush pens were pigment-based but I can definitely take another look! :)
I've been coloring on and off for years and do to health reasons find myself spending more time coloring for relaxation now days . I can't get out and shop at stores so I sit in my recliner to color and watch coloring videos. I can't tell you how many times I've watched a coloring video and seen something I like or want to try. My laptop is near by and thus I'm ordering things I've seen, mostly coloring books. In fact I watched a flip through or a colored picture of Maria Trolle 1st book on your channel and have it on order now. There are a lot worse things we could spend our money on and they do bring us pleasure!
Nice haul. Enjoy what you have, enjoy what you purchased. Let go of the guilt. You only live once and there certainly are worse things to spend your money on. Enjoy your hobby.🇨🇦
Nice video-don’t feel guilty, just enjoy everything as you use it. There is no cost as you use it all :-) looking forward to coloring videos so you can explain how your pencil feel in the hand and on the paper for different paper types. Thanks!
There is no judging here. I’m just the same and absolutely comfort shop. We all like seeing the new pretties😂 so let’s all just enjoy. Does the bigger pencil extender fit luminance pencils. I can’t find one big enough.
Great video as always, Connie 😃 Please try not to be so hard on yourself, having backups of supplies we use is a good thing - I have many, as living in small village where it’s impossible to get things on short notice. You could try being as kind to yourself as you would be for any of us who do the same in times of stress 🥰 I love the mixed caran dache set you’ve created, and hope you will let yourself have tons of fun using your supplies 🥰 take care x
Great haul! Enjoy your goodies! There’s no harm in self care. You needed to help your stress so please don’t create more stress now that you have them. Enjoy. I am sure you will use everything you got and your no buy can start again. I too am being mindful of my spending and using what I have this year but if I can’t do it for the six months I was hoping for it’s ok because at least they will get used still 🤷🏻♀️
Those swatches on the binder ring are genius...like Home Depot painting department next level! I'm sure many of us are thinking, "why didn't I think of that?" Haven't checked to see if you made that video yet, but you've got a boatload of new things to swatch, so I'd love to see it. Are they laminated? Card stock-type paper? Again, great idea!
I don't know if I can take credit - I think I saw something similar somewhere else (I don't know if they used binder rings or something similar). :) I haven't done a stand-alone video on my swatch strips but I think I've shown them in a couple of different videos - take a look at the long, chatty look through my swatch books and I think I show some of them there. :) I don't laminate them - laminating can sometimes change the colour of the swatch. I use Accent Opaque Smooth Cover White card stock (65lb) for all of my swatching. Hope that helps!
Enjoy your good fortune , period. What a beautiful blessing to have the collection of supplies you have! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos and tutorials
I started with Supras and have been augmenting with Museums and Albrecht Durers. Eventually, the Supras will be all gone and replaced with their more luxurious counterparts. I too have them all happily married in a case (I always mix my pencil brands so I pick by color and need, not today I'm coloring with Supras or Lumies. Also, for the watercolor pencils, I follow a colorist who uses her Albrecht Durers dry many many times so she has never gotten the Polys since the colors are the same. I use my watercolor pencils for more than backgrounds. I enjoy them with the actual image. I've used them for portraits, Kerby pages, etc. I also love mixing my media. I'll used colored pencils, with distress inks and gelatos, etc. This way I get maximum enjoyment for the overabundance of supplies that I own. I cannot however berate you for this haul not only because I believe it improper (you are an adult and can decide what to spend your funds on and why) but because I go through periods where I buy nothing and then poof packages start arriving. I too have full set syndrome for some items and do not want to have to wait when for a media/tool to arrive because it is not available in my local store and I want to color with it now. Can I, I guess I totally can (as I'm sure we all can) but I do not want to and that's Ok so long as I'm still putting food on my table and paying my bills. If however you feel that you need a restraining hand. Set goal that you cannot buy again until you have colored 5 pages using some combination of the supplies in this haul (you can add other supplies also but the ones from this haul are key). If 5 pages is too little double it (I know some colorists color 5 pages a week, with my schedule I'm luck if I can do 5 a month some times). The one thing I can tell you as it applies to crafts like diets, moderation leads to a lot more success than deprivation. Happy coloring!
This is the first video of yours that I have watched. I really enjoyed it and will enjoy learning how you use several of the products you purchased. I end up subscribing because I want to learn how you use for instance, the black wink of stella. I didn't know there was any such thing. You are so relatable as you kept saying you shouldn't have bought so much. I get you. Thank you for being human and letting us see that side of you. I pray your back gets better soon.
I contacted Spectrum noir and the refills are not discontinued…they were taken off due to rebranding and not sure exactly when they’ll be back up but assured they are not discontinued
No judging...nothing but love for you.. Thank you for mentioning the incredible nib, I hadn't heard of it, and the Pitt Artist Pen Big Brush sale. It's such a good deal I bought one of each. Set Marie Kondo to side until/unless something isn't bringing you joy.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Oh my goodness what beautiful things you got! I particularly like your idea of mixing the museum aquarells and supracolors- definitely on my "one day" list. For me, sometimes trying to restrict purchasing like that is counterproductive, because then I feel like a failure when I inevitably buy more stuff. In the past I have let the guilt of that cause me to shove the new supplies into the back of the cupboard and not return to them for weeks/months. (like maybe if I don't look at it I didn't spend money on it? Lol- terrible!) So the only berating I'm going to do is to tell you we better see a video featuring some work done with those beautiful pencils soon haha! One thing I'm trying- (yet to see if it works well enough) is instead of telling myself I'm Not Buying Any More Stuff, I allow myself to put it on the wishlist and am telling myself I WILL eventually get more wonderful things- I don't intend to quit art or coloring- just not right now. I'm trying to put my superb procrastination skills to good use :). Of course, marketing fights against this all the time- have to remind myself- yes, eventually there Will Be Another Sale. Sigh.
Thank you so much for sharing! I'm definitely hoping to get some videos put together using some of these supplies. :) Totally connect with what you're saying!
Connie, thank you so much for being open and honest about your purchases and the reason for them. I am also a stress shopper. I'm just a shopper in general. it's really hard to not shop. So you are not alone. Don't be hard on yourself. Forgive yourself for your transgressions and try to do better in the future. A great Canadian online store is Hollow Tree Hobbies. She's in Ottawa and has a great online store.
Connie, Regarding the Distress Inks & Oxides, did you know they are best stored upside down so they are less likely to dry out. I love using the distress inks in my coloring but haven’t tried the distress oxides yet - but your comment that the oxides do better in coloring books has spurred me to give them a try. Thanks!
I did know that but thank you for the advice! :) I think the Distress Oxides are easier to "move" on a page but I did find that they are more difficult to layer. Hope you have fun playing with inks! :)
Hey there ! I would love to watch a deep dive into this new plus case combining all these brands, i loved the one about polychromos ! Am sorry to say you wont find a soul to guilt you for buying supplies into the colouring community: i think we have all been there and done that! This being said it seems to bother you quite a bit, so maybe try to challenge yourself when you feel not that stressed ^^ Am wishing the bestfor you and your channel your tone and videos are quite unique so i hope to see new ones for a long time ❤
Thank you so much - glad that you're liking the channel and the content! :) I'm definitely going to get back to moving towards more mindful purchasing. :) And I'll make a note of the video idea!
I try to discipline myself like this...If I buy a new pair of pants, then I get rid of/donate a pair of pants. Admittedly, that doesn't always work because my discipline is still MIA. So then I compromise, and switch to the Thunderdome approach...Two paint pens enter, one paint pen leave!! LOL. Hope you get the Beyond the Thunderdome reference.
It’s ok, don’t be hard on yourself. My birthday is in January and to say the least, I over indulged in art supplies all month🤣. Looking forward to seeing you use the distress oxides. I bought a few to try out. Again, be kind to yourself, it is all great stuff.
Please don’t be so hard on yourself! I assume you work hard for your money and how you choose to spend it is your business! I know, I know, the guilt is real - I feel it too but there are worse things you could spend your money on! That D’ache curated set looks amazing :) and you’ve sparked my interest in clear gelly rolls - they arrive tomorrow :) Enjoy your goodies Connie - happy colouring!
I’ve been advised the SPN markers are being redesigned again 😔, they initially redesigned the colours a few years ago, same names and colour reference, but warmer tones and some value shifts e.g. sky blue is now more blue than green as it was originally. The whole website was also redesigned a few months ago it’s now terribly clunky and hard to find anything. Moving on they are supposed to be coming back but no idea when, I was also advised they were having supply issues as early as last year with refills, so not sure if it’s a production issue forcing this generation of redesign I really wish they’d pin that side of things down as you spend a lot of money on these products, become familiar with colours etc for it to change 😢. Finally they launched a new colorista range (another recycled name) it was there short lived colorist specific range with cheaper pigments before the illustrator and Tri blend lines took off. There now are a new generation of pencils, and a new line of markers currently at 32 colours, not sure if this will be extended, however, here comes the interesting part. Some of the names are very familiar Dandelion, for example, there are no blending families or even colour families. They also look quite different similar to a tombow marker so very slim and round. I did buy the initial four sets as they were on a extremely good. Introductory offer roughly 50p per marker, I’m going to do some colour comparisons with pre-existing names this week to see if they appear the same in terms of ink formulation. I’m hoping so that any refills that do match can obviously be used up in new makers, obviously the big drawback is the colour range has contracted again for the time being and there is no guarantee that all the pre-existing colours will cross match as I’ve seen at least a few new names that I’ve never come across before, there in lies the third conundrum of will some of the names be different, but the colour is the same in terms of matching to refills. As mentioned I think it is a production issue that has forced things this time. I also know the parent company underwent some restructuring last year as they are based here in the UK so I do follow along. To be fair, the new markers are very very good and have a comparable lay down to Windsor and newton markers e.g. no sparkling as discussed in one of your videos, but if it becomes an issue that they are single use, or equally my pre-existing spectrum noir markers are now single use. It’s a big put off not only financially, but environmentally as well. I try to use markers that will be the last a long time or be refillable to prevent plastic waste, no judgement, to anybody that does different, but I go through a lot of pens, and given water-based options are never refillable by design. This is one way I try to mitigate my plastic usage on a personal level. Excuse the rambling but I thought it was worth laying out all the information I have directly from Crafters Companion. 😊
Thank you SO much for sharing all that info! Very interesting. How are the nibs on the Colorista markers? Oh - if you're interested in refillable water-based pens with a brush tip, I believe the Ecoline pens by Royal Talens are refillable. :) Thank you again for the detailed reply!
Hi Connie, I’m colour comparing this evening adulting and a lunch date got in the way, nibs the bullet is closer to a classique rather than illustrator, but the ink feathers and bleeds less so as long as the image isn’t tiny you can compensate by limiting your nib contact to the paper. The brush feels nothing like an illustrator definitely firmer, if I said copicy but smaller would that make sense, 😂😂😂 I intend to pick up a couple of Tom bows to satisfy the want monster and the empirical part of my mind in water and alcohol as I strongly suspect the design has been adjusted to emulate them, based on physical appearance and the benefit of youtube 😆
@@scottcullen2832 Interesting! I do prefer the Classique bullet nibs to the Illustrator nibs - the Illustrator nibs are too tiny and point-y for my purposes. :) And I'm interested to hear how the brush nibs compare to the Tombow nibs if you'd like to come back and share. :)
Girl stop beating yourself up!!! Theres no such thing as too many supplies or coloring books. We all buy things we dont need and hey.....if it brings you joy and you use it...ir some of it lol....power on!!! Great videos. I love haul videos.
I go to the store…sometimes I buy nothing sometimes I buy a few things…but my response to my husband is always “so this happened” as well lol BUT in all reality I don’t spend money on myself so when I do it’s intentional (most of the time) I recently busted out daydreams by Hanna karlzon after it sat on my shelf for 3 years! I wasn’t liking the thicker lines I think. I just bought summer nights so that tells you how that went! I also got fairytales by Emilie lidehall oberg! It’s from like 2017 but it’s new to me! I love it!! Do you have anything by this artist? My point being (if there is a point) this is our hobby, our CRAFT. Don’t feel bad for spending on yourself every now and then. You needed something to keep busy for goodness sake!
Thank you for chiming in! :) I don't have any of Emilie's books but I'm very interested in the one that's going to be re-released soon - we'll see if I end up purchasing that one. :)
@@jengolo7 She has found a new printing company for Sagor och Sägner (as it is currently out of print) and it will be reprinted as Fairytales and Folklore Coloring Book. I believe @ColourwithClaire was instrumental in getting this to happen. :) I'm not sure a release date has been given yet but lots of folks are very excited about it! :)
@@colouringchemist colourwithclaire is responsible for my finally being able to have my prisma swatch chart in family color order, I believe it was her that got me to finally get the concept of coloring crystals, and many more other accomplishments in coloring 🤓
So true about the wink of stella, it’s silvery, I’m going to get spectrum noir ones, thanks Connie…..also I couldn’t find the ohuhu metallic pens? Do you have a link or more info? I’m deciding between metallic watercolor, or something like a metallic pen don’t really want gel pens I have a small set, but I’m afraid if I get one of the huge sets they will dry out, as I only use them some of the time. Yes please show how you use the white ink pens from Faber castel I have one never thought of using it……..No judgement here, don’t be so hard on yourself
I've made a note about the white Pitt Pen video - I'll try to get to that soon! :) I can't seem to find the Ohuhu metallic markers on Amazon US (weird!) but this is the link for them on Amazon Canada: www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0995HNW7V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@@colouringchemist great, & I have another idea for a video if you feel comfortable doing it, I would love to see the process of printing out a pdf or scanned picture, I really want to see what kind of paper is used as I like doing mixed media, but most papers are 9 x12 & printers are 8.5 x11, I do work with printers I know I need a lazer, but don’t know what paper to use mixed media paper would be hard on markers & pencils. Do what brings you joy and sometimes it's good to throw caution to the wind. I like the below comment that guilt is a wasted emotion. Find the opposite emotion of guilt. You have earned your haul, enjoy them. Needless to say, the amount of shit I have, I have started using my cheap supplies first to cut down of my stationery hoard ha ha
Not going to berate you as no leg to stand on, but… 😮 just looking at all of that makes me think you’re gonna need a bigger studio lol I do get the urge to stock replacements for favourites but I’m so chaotic I only need to buy one, because I’ll then find three I had set aside earlier!. Now that you are getting back to fitness I’m sure you’ll use everything you have and will get pleasure from your purchases xx

Thanks! :) It can be pricey since you need to pay shipping plus a brokerage fee. I don't tend to do it often unless it's something I can't get elsewhere (like those Spectrum Noir ink refills).
If you buy products and never ever touch them then sure, maybe you can feel guilty. But if you use the items I wouldn't feel bad. You are getting use out of them
No guilt or shame! No harm has been done to anyone, and I’m sure the shopping helped you through a stressful time. Enjoy the goodies!

Well said! I feel guilt for almost everything - I need to take your advice to heart. :)
I smashed my kneecap up falling on Christmas Eve, so I understand you completely, I have spent so much money in the last 6 weeks, just feeling sorry for myself, books, pencils, glittery mediums. I am on first name terms with the Amazon driver lol.
Oh no! I hope you're healing up! ❤️
Thank you! ❤️
Thank so much for the tip - I'm definitely going to try it! :)
Great tip thanks!!!😊
I can’t take credit for the tip, I saw it on someone else’s RUclips video when searching how to use gel crayons and clean brushes. 😁
@@cinqcolours Well you can, you are the one who mentioned it!!
thanks for sharing that tip here! I'd been wondering about that...
Be kind to yourself and enjoy the coloring life. I always enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing.
❤️
Great haul! no guilt just enjoy. Your back ups are part of wintering, like squirrels storing their food! fantastic purchases
Love the analogy! :)
Great ideas - thanks for sharing! :)
So much truth there - and I've always struggled with my weight, too. :) And I'll definitely see if I can get the white Pitt Pen video made!
Thank you! :) ❤️
Hi Connie great haul😊 I encourage you to be kind and gentle to yourself. Dealing with stress or pain in our bodies or the many other things there are is challenging and not easy. Being kind to unselfish is important. Take care and hope your back gets better very soon.😊❤️
Thank you! ❤️
Don't stress about the shopping, if it makes you happy then just embrace it.
My condolences on the loss of your grandma. Hugs to you! Glad you found value in the video! :)
I totally understand stress shopping and you shouldn't beat yourself up! I know it's a short term fix, but I for one totally need it sometimes!😊
❤️
Enjoy everything. What you can't stand owning, give to someone who likes that brand. Some brands work for different things. Some things might not be meant for a coloring book format. You have shared some products with me that I had no idea even existed. I have been around this genre of RUclips since Fall 2021. I have been interested in Art for 46 years. I don't do shows or sell my art. I just enjoy. I enjoy you because this is like talking shop. Thank you.
So glad you're enjoying the videos - and thank you for the pep talk! :)
Hi Connie! Don’t be so hard on yourself! The only thing you got to do is enjoy your stuff!!! I saw some interesting things like the clear sparkle pens, so thank you for showing!!! Be careful with your back!
Thank you so much! :) Glad you saw some interesting things!
No judgment here, Connie. I believe a lot of us can relate. I want Caran D’ache Supracolors as well. Enjoy your beautiful combined set. I’ve heard the Museum Aquarelles are heavenly. Take care, and hope your back is feeling better. ❤🤗
Thank you! :) ❤️
Thank you so much for commenting! :) I'm glad I could make you laugh. :D ❤️
we all do the same thing!!!!
Awww... Thank you so much for the kind words! :)
Thanks for not judging! :) Yeah - the stress-buying impulse is hard to curb. So glad you liked the combined Museum Aquarelle/Supracolor set idea!
I do stress buying too. The way i look at it, im not buyin drugs or going out clubbing. This is my hobby and and the only thing i buy for myself. And i do have a small income. But i make up for it buying good bargain supplies. Dont feel bad.
❤️
As long as you use these items, then just enjoy them. They all looks useful. I did buy those pencil extenders and happy with them ❣️The deco pens (acrylic paint pens) you showed are not the brush pro which is their pigment ink pens so maybe retake a look at which series you bought.
❤️ And thanks for the clarification on the Karin pens, Jody! I always thought the Brushmarker Pro markers were dye-based and the Pigment DecoBrush pens were pigment-based but I can definitely take another look! :)
@@colouringchemist now I need to check when I am home LOL
I've been coloring on and off for years and do to health reasons find myself spending more time coloring for relaxation now days . I can't get out and shop at stores so I sit in my recliner to color and watch coloring videos. I can't tell you how many times I've watched a coloring video and seen something I like or want to try. My laptop is near by and thus I'm ordering things I've seen, mostly coloring books. In fact I watched a flip through or a colored picture of Maria Trolle 1st book on your channel and have it on order now. There are a lot worse things we could spend our money on and they do bring us pleasure!
Very true! Thanks for chiming in! :)
Nice haul. Enjoy what you have, enjoy what you purchased. Let go of the guilt. You only live once and there certainly are worse things to spend your money on. Enjoy your hobby.🇨🇦
❤️
Nice video-don’t feel guilty, just enjoy everything as you use it. There is no cost as you use it all :-) looking forward to coloring videos so you can explain how your pencil feel in the hand and on the paper for different paper types. Thanks!
Thanks so much! 😊
There is no judging here. I’m just the same and absolutely comfort shop. We all like seeing the new pretties😂 so let’s all just enjoy. Does the bigger pencil extender fit luminance pencils. I can’t find one big enough.
I just tried it out and, actually, the smaller end of the double-ended extender fits the Luminance pencils. :)
I appreciate your honesty about stress shopping 😃 Sometimes buying art supplies feeds the soul! I hope February is a better month for you!
Thank you! ❤️
Great video as always, Connie 😃
Please try not to be so hard on yourself, having backups of supplies we use is a good thing - I have many, as living in small village where it’s impossible to get things on short notice.
You could try being as kind to yourself as you would be for any of us who do the same in times of stress 🥰 I love the mixed caran dache set you’ve created, and hope you will let yourself have tons of fun using your supplies 🥰 take care x
Thank you! :) ❤️
Great haul! Enjoy your goodies! There’s no harm in self care. You needed to help your stress so please don’t create more stress now that you have them. Enjoy. I am sure you will use everything you got and your no buy can start again. I too am being mindful of my spending and using what I have this year but if I can’t do it for the six months I was hoping for it’s ok because at least they will get used still 🤷🏻♀️
❤️ Thank you for your comment!
What a lovely way to look at it - thank you! ❤️
An amazing haul, lucky lady xx
I always try to remind myself of that. :)
Thanks for sharing! Happy colouring to you, too! :) ❤️
Thank you! ❤️ I'm so glad that you found the channel and are enjoying it - thank you for subscribing! :)
I contacted Spectrum noir and the refills are not discontinued…they were taken off due to rebranding and not sure exactly when they’ll be back up but assured they are not discontinued
Thank you so much for looking into it and sharing! :)
Looking forward to December to see what you liked and used! ❤😊😅
:D ❤️
No judging...nothing but love for you.. Thank you for mentioning the incredible nib, I hadn't heard of it, and the Pitt Artist Pen Big Brush sale. It's such a good deal I bought one of each. Set Marie Kondo to side until/unless something isn't bringing you joy.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you! :) So glad you found some new supply ideas!
❤️ And thanks for the Canadian online store recommendation!
Connie,
Regarding the Distress Inks & Oxides, did you know they are best stored upside down so they are less likely to dry out.
no judgment here! If craft supplies help relieve stress & boredom? enjoy! looks like a great haul
❤️
Hey there ! I would love to watch a deep dive into this new plus case combining all these brands, i loved the one about polychromos ! Am sorry to say you wont find a soul to guilt you for buying supplies into the colouring community: i think we have all been there and done that! This being said it seems to bother you quite a bit, so maybe try to challenge yourself when you feel not that stressed ^^
Am wishing the bestfor you and your channel your tone and videos are quite unique so i hope to see new ones for a long time ❤
Thank you so much - glad that you're liking the channel and the content!
I asked my husband about the reference so he explained it to me. :) Good for you for trying different approaches!
It’s ok, don’t be hard on yourself. My birthday is in January and to say the least, I over indulged in art supplies all month🤣. Looking forward to seeing you use the distress oxides. I bought a few to try out. Again, be kind to yourself, it is all great stuff.
❤️ Happy belated birthday!
I use those extenders from Amazon and they work fine.
So glad they work for you! :)
❤️ Have fun with the clear Gelly Roll pens! :)
Hi Connie,
I’m colour comparing this evening adulting and a lunch date got in the way, nibs the bullet is closer to a classique rather than illustrator, but the ink feathers and bleeds less so as long as the image isn’t tiny you can compensate by limiting your nib contact to the paper.
@@colouringchemist I’ve ordered some towbows on sale in my defence 😂😂😂, I’ll let you know at the weekend 😊
Just seen you’ve bought some decobrush pens the brush nib feels a bit like those if that helps ❤️❤️
I would be interested in seeing the difference between distress inks and distress oxide inks in books
I can definitely make a note of that for a future video idea - thanks for the suggestion! :)

I go to the store…sometimes I buy nothing sometimes I buy a few things…but my response to my husband is always “so this happened” as well lol BUT in all reality I don’t spend money on myself so when I do it’s intentional (most of the time)
I recently busted out daydreams by Hanna karlzon after it sat on my shelf for 3 years!

So, do you now get anxious about having to use all the things, or is it more of a guilt? Because i can relate
I think it's both :) but right now, it's mostly the guilt of buying when I didn't really need any of it. :)
So true about the wink of stella, it’s silvery, I’m going to get spectrum noir ones, thanks Connie…..also I couldn’t find the ohuhu metallic pens? Do you have a link or more info? Yes please show how you use the white ink pens from Faber castel I have one never thought of using it……..No judgement here, don’t be so hard on yourself

I bought them from Amazon Canada but these are the same ones on Amazon US: www.amazon.com/Extenders-FineGood-Lengthener-Supplies-Writing/dp/B07QR5DFDL/ref=sr_1_15?crid=1MZGB6209IHUX&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.F-5fIUMLcWL37rywBHwnM4cggwZTeMn9DNZemqcpJOJdfJb9P6mYkV0_k3HLpTJuVWVIqB0HCm469zPjiUeApCKEr2YFWybIvK7zIbfBekdst4Kx6ekb5eXt1o9Mshv-_Q6hv8lech6hfWC2eXPA5bSUcfThg2CGKrWfj20yVVqqplcrJK0NIeslxnN0M2PhZeh1wuvW3hkbQvxseRGAju3G5JZM6xA5XYzG0miFVNvwfUI40moCgct-iGNFUH4Dr19M6RMUkE4529MYr0QwwP_i-fA9ShUYAdBhaLn2nCU._AJy9616d491x5dN4-XnAIyGdVcAdL_mLw1lE5kZyIw&dib_tag=se&keywords=pencil+extenders&qid=1708071371&sprefix=pencil+extenders%2Caps%2C196&sr=8-15
Great video:) What is the shipping when you order from Dick Blick to Canada?
Thanks! :) It can be pricey since you need to pay shipping plus a brokerage fee. I don't tend to do it often unless it's something I can't get elsewhere (like those Spectrum Noir ink refills).
Fun goodies
I'm hoping to get many hours of enjoyment from them! :)
I wish i own caran D'ache Supercolor 😊

Thank you - I will! :)
If you buy products and never ever touch them then sure, maybe you can feel guilty. But if you use the items I wouldn't feel bad. You are getting use out of them
❤️
I can totally relate. I'm a coloring book and supply hoarder, but I work hard for my money and use my hoard daily. Lol
❤️ I think using one's hoard is key! :)
