It's not bad... it's just kind of silly, which works really. It's Ringo, and he's always been a bit of a silly person. He is a lot more talented than anyone gives him credit for really.
This shows why children love Ringo more than the other Beatles. He has a natural sense of humor! Also this song is about stepping out of the fast pace of life these days, slowing down, and taking the time to notice and enjoy the little things. As for the songs he lead with the Beatles, he did what he wrote, although he did not write as much. He can sing pretty well when he wants to. He's not the best but how many of today's artists are, really?
John Lennon and Yoko Ono once owned the white house at Titenhurst Park shown at the beginning of this video. It was the location of The Beatles' last photo session. The LPs Imagine by John Lennon and British Steel by Judas Priest were recorded in this house.
i never saw this video but i love the song. in 1981 it just wasn't a radio type song. too bad. when he's long dead all this stuff will be cherished like it should have been when it came out. very "magical mystery tour" almost monty python type visuals. perfect lipsynch. love you ringo. i think harry nilsson wrote & produced this.
Ringo can most certainly sing. Saying he can't sing is like saying Elvis Costello can't sing. They have unique voices. Also this is a novelty song which is supposed to be silly and just pure fun
Ofc, he does that in (almost) every movies Meatballs (1979) Caddyshack Stripes (1981), Ghostbusters (1984), Ghostbusters II (1989), What About Bob? (1991) and Groundhog Day (1993). He also had supporting roles in Tootsie (1982), Little Shop of Horrors (1986), Ed Wood (1994), Kingpin (1996) and Osmosis Jones (2001).
I love this! Especially when the lady who I believe is Barbara his real wife smashes the bottle over his head when he said talk it over with your wife 😂😂 Also I've actually bought this album ✌️
I had this album when I was younger and have not been able to find a CD version of it. Anybody know why it's not out anymore? The album itself was quite something.
@@randallkennedy2066 Hei, compare Ringo`s 70s records with Bryan Ferry`s 70s solo stuff, there is not much difference, the same style, similar vocal manner. Only difference is that Ferry wanted to be serious and Ringo more like funny.
I love Ringo just as much as the other rolling beat kink animal Floyd who pistols. If you can't find humor with the boys then your missing 68 percent of it. Stop and smell the roses is ringos best album it's my favorite it's almost has all of the boys on it John was even going to come to England and do a song with Richy but some nut job made sure that wouldn't be happing 😢
loooooooooooooooooool this cant be 4 real repeat till i die ringoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
John Lennon gave Ringo the Twickenham Estate (the white home seen at the start of the video) because he felt Ringo was due a bonus! Generous guy! Imagine a boss like that! Check out more ultra cool videos on my channel!! Peace.
This is the first time I saw this video, pretty funny! I have 2 copies of this LP, one still sealed and not a cut out and the other is open and a cut out. In this video he looks like he did in early 1969!
Thank you, Ringo, for all the pleasure you have given us. Long may you continue
Dude he sings better than most singers these days, and he's a lot more entertaining than most.
This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen.
go to the record store right now so he can plant more
Another great song with Ringo!
Honestly this has the same energy as the Beatles song, “you know my name (look up the number)” and I love it.
So sad seing him at John's house. John should have been alive in 1981..
It's not bad... it's just kind of silly, which works really. It's Ringo, and he's always been a bit of a silly person. He is a lot more talented than anyone gives him credit for really.
The problem here is not siliness. The song (and Ringo's music, and Ringo's image) sounds and looks old for 1981.
This song was written and produced by Harry Nilsson. It sounds typical for Nilsson.

It's also why Ringo was the only Beatle to have a successful acting career.
.... he sings just fine dude.
Waitwaitwait what do you mean he can't sing??? He's literally perfection ❤❤
Stop And Smell The Roses is an amazing album!
I love this song!!
OMG! The song makes much better sense with the video, Ringo is a legend.
I love this song, laughing with Ringo is fun! Great album honestly, one of his best!
“Stop and take the time to buy this album, so I can plant roses and smell them all day long” might be the best Beatles solo career lyric of all time.
ringo starr is one of my favorite actors.
Where you get he can't sing from is beyond me! He's entertaining and he sings in tune! So how does that = he can't sing???
Excellent!! I love Ringo.. my favorite Beatle!
I love everything Ringo does.
One of Ringo's best LPs. Hard to get. Need this out on CD at a reasonable price.
His singing is awesome.
Happy birthday Ringo!
John Lennon and Yoko Ono once owned the white house at Titenhurst Park shown at the beginning of this video. It was the location of The Beatles' last photo session. The LPs Imagine by John Lennon and British Steel by Judas Priest were recorded in this house.
You gotta love him...😊❤
The video is great. The album is sadly overlooked!
Ringo looks so cool in those shades.
RINGO IS THE GREATEST!!!
oh my god ringo is amazing this is just too funny :') look at those gorgeous eyes
I love his eyes,my GOD
Omg ringo i love you so much
Remember HBO's Video Jukebox in the early 80s filling time to the top of the hour for movie starts?
That's where I first saw this video.
Now we know Who
Was the ironical
Inspiration of
The band Beatles
Ringo: Stop! And take a time to Smell the roses.
Me: of course Ringo!
i never saw this video but i love the song. in 1981 it just wasn't a radio type song. too bad. when he's long dead all this stuff will be cherished like it should have been when it came out. very "magical mystery tour" almost monty python type visuals. perfect lipsynch. love you ringo. i think harry nilsson wrote & produced this.
Beautiful
This is actually good.
Ringo can most certainly sing. Saying he can't sing is like saying Elvis Costello can't sing. They have unique voices. Also this is a novelty song which is supposed to be silly and just pure fun
Ringo's version of "Night and Day" on his first album is the best ever! - imo.
Ringo is the best
Thanks ringo
"Stop and take the time to fill your noses". Well you certainly did that the day you filmed this Ringo.
I love him. He looks like JD from Scrubs in this video. He's even got the attitude.
My ringo
I love British humour!😄
Here I am
I have the LP. Certainly he can't sing, but it's good fun. Wrack My Brain is also great.
Could that be the white tux from Your Mother Should Know?
Grande Ringo!!
1:07 onwards reminds me a little of Bill Murray's epiphany moment at the end of Scrooged.
Ofc, he does that in (almost) every movies
Meatballs (1979) Caddyshack
Stripes (1981), Ghostbusters (1984), Ghostbusters II (1989), What About Bob? (1991) and Groundhog Day (1993). He also had supporting roles in Tootsie (1982), Little Shop of Horrors (1986), Ed Wood (1994), Kingpin (1996) and Osmosis Jones (2001).
i remember singing the video. it seemed to get a lot of airplay.paul.australia.
1000% AMESOMENESS IN EFFECT
I guess thomas narrating really helped with him saying stop
he can't sing?! WHAT!? he can!
I love this! Especially when the lady who I believe is Barbara his real wife smashes the bottle over his head when he said talk it over with your wife 😂😂
Also I've actually bought this album ✌️
"Clark and Betty Grable." C'mon. You folks must know that's brilliant.
I had this album when I was younger and have not been able to find a CD version of it.
Anybody know why it's not out anymore? The album itself was quite something.
Love you
Anybody knows why was Ringo so unpopular from 1977 to 1989? Even Beatles fans didnt buy his albums.
His songs were mostly dumb and he was only there as comic relief
Because his records suck.
@@randallkennedy2066 Hei, compare Ringo`s 70s records with Bryan Ferry`s 70s solo stuff, there is not much difference, the same style, similar vocal manner. Only difference is that Ferry wanted to be serious and Ringo more like funny.
Wasn't this the LP that landed directly into the cutout bins of most finer record shops? :D
yes. but for 99 cents its a real treat. check out drumming is my madness.
It barely made the Top 100 chart.
It was the times that having a vynil was like possesing a rare book or a jewel.
…..good for you Ringo, that you stopped filling your nose…..
Filmed at Tittenhurst Park
Not hating, but He had no right to Call Maxwell's Silver Hammer childish

@cookiemonster1822
that's not nice! Ringo's great!
Written by Harry Nilsson!
Sounds and sings almost exactly like Bryan Ferry 70s solo stuff.
Якубович, ты чего...
At the time, it was rumored to be about cocaine
It's got quite the Monty Python vibe
loooooooooooooooooool this cant be 4 real
repeat till i die ringoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
STOP!
For God's sake, Ringo, please stop.
John Lennon gave Ringo the Twickenham Estate (the white home seen at the start of the video) because he felt Ringo was due a bonus! Generous guy! Imagine a boss like that! Check out more ultra cool videos on my channel!! Peace.
Classic Rock'n'Roll how come lennon got more money than ringo? Didnt they share all money?
2:27 - his Joe Biden impersonation
この頃のリンゴのアルバムCDで再販して~
1:37 ahahhahaha

1981
1981
this song is my shit!!
I agree
lol😂
Was just dead Lennon. Im very sad
Lololololollololololololololololololollolololololol
Willy wonka Ringo
Thanx for finally admitting he can't sing!! My god, even Dylan's not this bad. But don't get me wrong, us Beatles freaks still love 'im anyway!
Stephen Taylor what do you mean? His voice is amazing!
I hope the 6 years you had to think this over changed your mind
you´re deaf U idiot!
"Aprendiendo a Volar" de los Hombres G me trajo aquí... 😁
Did he learn nothing after 8 years with Lennon and McCartney??
Gotta,be one of the worst records ever made
Holy shit, the Beatles court jester. What a drunk embarassment.
This is why most drummers shouldn't be artists even if they were a Beatle.
You´re a fucking loser and SHAIT
Ringo never had any talent
He superstinks.
I think you're confusing him with Don Lemon.
nazoi propaganda

Its a funny video!! I have a sealed copy of this album I bought at a thrift store.
