Walworth, Wis. - July 18, 2022 - Sales at Mecum’s most recent collector car auction in Orlando, Florida, reached $34.8 million overall, July 7-9. The second Summer Special auction held at the Orange County Convention Center saw 869 vehicles change hands, topped by a 2017 Lamborghini Aventador LP 740-4 S (Lot S47) that sold for $440,000. The Orange County Convention Center played host to Mecum’s signature wide variety of vehicles, and the top 10 sellers list well reflected the diverse selection on offer. Following the aforementioned 9,200-mile Lamborghini was a 2005 Ford GT (Lot S134) that sold for $379,500 and a string of Chevrolets: a highly optioned and concours-restored 1959 Impala Convertible (Lot S131.1) that brought $319,000, a split-window Corvette (Lot F214) that sold for $308,000 and two custom Nomads (Lot S182 and S165.1)that demanded $225,500 each. A 55-mile 1987 Buick GNX (Lot S126.1) and a 1,700-mile 2019 Porsche 911 Turbo S (Lot S186) followed bringing $225,500 and $214,500 respectively. it was at the convention center in Anaheim next to Disneyland. It's a premium on parking.
