    - Ted Kennedy deeply cared about America.
His brother gave the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation. I truly appreciate the Kennedy family.

JFK was born to a life of privilege. He did not have to join the Navy. He certainly did not have to go into a combat role. He had plenty of health issues which would have been a reasonable excuse to not enter politics. He served with honor. He certainly wasnt perfect, and if he was in politics today he would be heavily scrutinized. However, he sacrificed for this country. He asked what he could do for this country, not what this country could do for him.

A man who had many faults but truly cared about our country. A man who did more for a America than arguably any other senator of the past 50 years. It was nice to see him enjoy one last moment in the sun. Let there be no doubt he was key to Obama get elected. This is coming from a Reagan conservative.

neondeion12 I want a guy in office who is actually able to make bills happen, make important legislation happen, make change happen - I'm not here to vote Ted Kennedy to be the perfect man ever, that's not the point, the point is finding someone who can be an effective president in moving the country forward and Ted Kennedy was good at that, he is one of the few senators who have been capable of making an impact in this country and its legislation, the progressive steps this country have taken all have him be a part of, so yes, I would want him to be president - he has his faults, he has his mistakes, he has things he's done wrong, but in the area of politics where we need someone who knows how to be effective, I would rather have a million Ted Kennedys

The problem we have in the Senate is that we have either voted out or failed to replace our Senators who had enough crediability with the opposition, to make a deal and strike a compromise. Both parties need folks who's reputation is such that the folks on the other side of the aisle knew a deal could be brokered, a promise would be kept and a bill could get passed. We needed our Howard Bakers, Our Robert Doles, our Ted Kennedys and our Hubert Humphreys to break deadlocks, and partisan logjams if we wanted a congress that could do anything.

13 years later, from Ted Kennedy’s tribute, you can tell that despite everything he went to - and that Washington did to his family - the man was one of the very few who truly cared about bettering the lives of Americans.
Kennedy’s seat was safe. All of his regular - weekly even - interactions with the community, he didn’t have to do for show. It went far beyond that, unlike any politician I can name in the federal government in 2021.
A shame where Obama took the Democratic Party. He didn’t “close the book on politics of race and gender and group against group and straight against gay.” Obama added a new section to distract we the people form the fact that “nothing will fundamentally change.”

To do so is dangerous and short-sighted, and it ignores the worth of every human life, I am a Christian, and I believe that men like Teddy or Obama have done far more good than some of the men who oppose abortion. Senator Kennedy was not a perfect man, but he never pretended to be. He could very easily retreated into obscurity and lived in luxury on the family fortune. Instead, he chose to commit himself to public service and to improving the lot of those less fortunate than himself. I believe the scales of history will weigh in his favour. R.I.P. Sir.

Gotta agree with everyone the 3 people after me said. If you think adopting a kid from Bangladesh makes up for pandering to everything Bush says & does is better than ACTUALLY supporting women, child, the education system, veterans rights, etc, I feel genuinely sorry for you. Adopting 1 poor kid doesn't make you a great person, dedicating your life to helping MILLIONS of people less fortunate than you does! The Kennedys are legitimate public servants and McCain's a delusional warmonger.

It's not being rich that's the bad thing, it's being rich and never earning a single thing for yourself helping others! The Kennedys dedicated their lives to helping others who are less privileged because they felt fortunate for what they had. John McCain was 5th from the bottom of his class at Annapolis, a slacker C student who lived off his family's reputation, cheated on his wife with a rich beer heiress and married her to advance his career. The difference is selfLESSness and selfISHness!

Angelina Jolie adopted a few kids from the third world. I guess that means she's an amazing person, right? I mean, the McCains picked up ONE, Jolie's got, what, three? Means she's three times as good as McCain by your logic.

Despite their wealth, Ted Kennedy and his brothers dedicated their lives to making America better for those less fortunate. Where is the fault in that? They are merely human beings, with human failings, but rather than sit back and enjoy a life of privilege, John, Robert and Ted Kennedy gave their lives to public service. McCain means four more years of Bush Republicans. If you support them, you must be rich. What have you done to make this country better for the average person? Vote for Bush?

10 years without Edward Moore Kennedy. He would have made a great president if not for 1969

You do not attack a person. You put the blame on a system. That is democracy.
