This Is Somewhat Of A How To Fit Coilovers On Your Mk5 Mk6 Escort And hopefully it'll go some way to help anyone looking to tackle this job themselves with no prior knowledge.
We'll be Diving Back Into #projectquattscort Very Soon But For Now, I Hope You Enjoy This Episode.

Awesome real world job, with limited space. Defo relate to that - great work Terry
It’s been to easy to forget I used to work like this all the time before finally getting a workshop space, I need to do it more often I think so I appreciate the workshop more lol
Really enjoy your videos Terry. I just retired at 66 and just bought a welder and gonna teach myself to weld practicing on my old transit. Your a great inspiration mate. Good tunes also!
Thank you mate, what better time learn with all the spare time you have now! Look up the fabrication series, he’s good for learning settings etc, best thing I did was buy some sheet metal (18 guage) and cut it into strip to practice on, you’ll learn a lot from doing that!
And please don’t scrimp on the welding mask, arc eye is not pleasant! I have a esab warrior which I highly recommend from personal experience.
Good luck with it mate, you’ll have to let us know how you get on 🍻
@@Tdevil86 Cheers Terry, i paid nearly as much for the mask as the welder! Treated myself to decent gear, gloves jacket, etc and just waiting for the metal to arrive. Gonna be fun! Lookin forward to your next vid.
Has to be done! Makes it a nicer experience when you’ve got decent gear. Most motor factors stock 18-20guage steel as I recently found out, after buying it all online for ages lol
Should be back on with the Quattro escort soon 😬
Enjoyed that. Been years since I had mk5 and 6 escorts. Brought some good memories
Thanks for another great video Terry
That’ll make a lot of difference driving it Terry nice job . And those wheels look the dog danglers mate 👌👍
in '91 [h reg], we replaced nearly every rear shocker under warranty for leaking. we didn't have time for spring compressors, just pushed them down whilst the apprentice did the bolt, he had to be quick, or he got a kicking...
wheels looked a lot better when panels went on
I don’t think I could take a shock apart with compressors after what Iv seen online with people doing it and the spring taking off lol
Wheels should look much better once I have a good size tire fitted and the car a touch lower 🤞🏻
Lovely set of wheels dude
Very educational, much appreciated as it shows very well how to replace the items on an MK5 and even how to adapt MK7 ones. Thanks! Any plans to take on that rot later, seems somehow a shame to put all that work in such a nice car and leave it like that underneath 😞
I hoped it would help some people out. And yes, the rust will be getting tackled later down the line, I’m just waiting for a space down the workshop to become available so I can move the car down there, once there il strip it apart completely and see just how bad the rust is 🙈
Keep up the good work mate
Gonna be a nice motor tel.
Looking good 👍👍👍👍
Always wanted to get a damaged mk3 focus rs and do the same as what you are doing to your Quattro build
A friend was actually doing that swop in he’s mk5 but unfortunately someone torched he’s workshop before he finished it, I believe he’s going to try again in the future though
I used to love doing road trips with mates to pick car parts up
Can’t beat a good road trip, hard to find friends to tag along when you get older though, every buggers busy lol
@@Tdevil86 we all had kids, and grew up😢😂
I had kids but I definitely haven’t managed the growing up part as yet lol
Love the rims tel👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hello love the progress 👍
Hopefully have some more up dates soon 🤞🏻
@@Tdevil86 👍
I’ve been to the guy you got the wheels off. He has some lovely stuff.
It’s like a aladins cave he has there isn’t it
@@Tdevil86 yeah. His retirement I think.
Are you going to be putting a cossie bonnet on it because I'm on the lookout for a red rs2000 bonnet
I will be when I find one yes, the bulge bonnet I have on there atm has bonnet pins fitted though
@Terry Moore that's OK my rs2000 is modified anyway, how can I contact you
As that’s ok then, I wont be selling my bonnet until I find a cossie bonnet to replace it I’m afraid, If you can find a decent cossie bonnet we could have a trade possibly
nice morette headlights you could try carbon skinning them do alot on motorbikes really like your vids and you have some skills
Yeh I had a go at skinning before, trouble with skinning is you’re just adding material and making the part a little bit bigger/heavier. Good for making parts look cool though!
Im hoping if I can make a mould and produce a decent set of covers for myself I might then be able to make more and offer them for sale, hopefully make some money back lol
@@Tdevil86 im sure you would sell them easy i remember when they were on everything ,rare now
If you do,make a vid i like watching people with skills
Oh yeh for sure man, il be making videos of trying out the moulding process and carbon stuff wether it goes to plan or not, I like to think it’ll be all good though 🙈😂
Subbed and following
Welcome aboard dude
verkaufst du die Spiegel?
Mirrors will be for sale once I find some new wrc ones
I want this car when done 😢
It’ll either be for sale or raffled off once complete bud, I have no intention to keep it, hopefully what I get for this one will help pay for the Quattro escort
Hi Terry back shocks 4 sale mk5
I’m afraid they’ve already gone now mate, sorry
