Just want to thank you for taking the time to add labeled chapters. Really nice and useful. I usually want to watch it all, but it’s helpful to skip to summary when I don’t have the time or if I’m looking back and want to jump to a specific segment.
For ten years I had no idea about shaft angle for chipping. I’ve been trying to get a forward shaft lean... listen to you guys chat for 10 minutes while I’m on the course practicing, changed to vertical and haven’t chunked a shot. Thanks, cheapest lesson I’ve had that’s worked.
Thank you guys for another great video. This is the best you tube channel by far! Could you do a video on the effect of standing too far, too close to the ball and last but not least, what is the "ultimate" distance to the ball with, irons, woods and driver? If you already done one could you please post the link? Keep up the good work, regards from Norway :-)
Welcome to Team titleist. at least we know the best all around brand for you. If you were pro you could be their ambassador. That isn’t a knock, but a compliment to them
Kind of funny....sensed a slight resistance to the Vokeys in the beginning knowing you guys like to change it up. So it was great to see that the Vokey's just fit Matty so well and for him to once again succumb to the charm of those wedges. They are just so dang good and so many options to be fit into for loft, bounce, and grind. I still say that out of my full bag fitting that the wedge fitting had the greatest effect on my game and scoring. Look forward to the shaft swapping video for the wedges.
Was hoping to see the Bettinardi’s get tested. They seem great. Also can’t wait for the wedge shaft video. Would love to see the KBS hi rev 2.0 tested against s400, etc
LOVE, love my Zipcores. I'm gaming the 54 mid bounce and 58 low bounce raw. I love how flat and low the leading edge remains when you open them up. The 54 is my fave club in the bag and my score-saver/score-maker club. Awesome wedges.
Ive played Vokey wedges since the 200 series in the mid 2000's. Ive tried other wedges and always end up with Vokey's back in the bag. I still have a SM5 in the bag (with some SM8's), and it just cant be beat (for me).
Great video. Would love to see a future video regarding shaft weight and flex for wedges. Personally, I have always played my wedges with shafts that are stiffer and heavier than my irons (I was taught to do this 35 years ago and never questioned it). However, just last week I went in for a wedge fitting for the purpose of re-shafting my wedge shafts. I am switching out to use the same lightweight softer shafts I have in my irons. Shafts ordered and should be to the fitter in two weeks. Cannot wait.
Had a fitting and placed an order for three Vokeys back in April. Being in New Zealand it's taking a little bit of time (2 months and counting) for them to get to us, especially in the current environment. So frustrating watching the end of the fine weather here slowly disappear and being unable to play them. When they eventually arrive, they might end up sitting in the bag for a bit while I wait for better weather. (FYI - I'm not much of a bad/wet weather player). Nice to have Matt validate my purchase decision though. Cheers
Being left handed, just went to the Jaws wedges. 60 degree, 8 bounce, W grind 56 degree, 10 bounce, S grind 52 degree, 10 bounce, S grind I have no where near the club head speed of Matty , and these wedges have given me a ton of spin. I've had to adjust where I land the ball to get them close to the pin. It's nice being able to hit the ball to 5-10 feet and let the spin stop the ball close.Or go in..😁
I play the Mizuno T-20 Wedges with Modus Wedge 115 and Modus Tour 120 in my Srizon ZX7 and OnOff Kuro Irons. I tried the Modus Wedge 125 and hated them and actually shanked several on the range before switching into the Modus Wedge 115. Smooth and responsive and almost as good as the old NS Pro WV 115.
Interesting talk about the shafts at the end. I've recently switched from stock wedge flex or S200 to S400 in all 3 of my wedges. The heavier weight seems to suit me and give me more consistent contact.
It’s interesting that wedge fittings are done indoors, I am newish to the game but I’ve already learned that turf conditions are a huge factor when choosing wedges. Living in FL it can be dry for a week and then play the same course and it be borderline squishy for a week, playing the same course with different conditions can completely change which wedges work. Same can be said for grainy fluffy courses vs tight courses. I’m sure a fitting on a mat would be great for tight dry conditions but would almost be the opposite of fluffy soft conditions
I would like to see a wedge fitting off of grass! Matt starts off by saying he doesn’t like TM wedges due to turf interaction and how they look at address. I need to test a wedge off of many different lies and sand to evaluate it. To me this is just a mat fitting…
Vokeys fit me the best too. Need a new 60 though. Kind of been looking at the 2019 hi toe. Not a fan of the raw faces on the 2020s. For some reason I was getting half as much spin with them and they absolutely Shred through your golf ball. It’s actually crazy how much the new tm wedges wreck you golf ball.
With all of these club changes with Matt and Ian, there is no report back on whether any of this has any impact on their scoring. While it is very interesting, educational and entertaining to watch these fittings, it begs the question in my mind whether making several thousands of dollars of equipment changes every year actually does anything for their scores/handicaps? It would be interesting (at least to me and possibly others I would assume) if Matt and Ian shared their baseline index and Arccos stats, and then tracked them with each equipment change to show whether that change actually made any difference in what is their (and everyone's) bottom line - the numbers on the scorecard.
This is not accurate at all!! We report back our improvements all the time on the channel. Matty went from a 2 to +1 last year and I went from scratch to +2. I also personally use Arccos with all my clients to ensure we see measurable improvements following the fitting process.
@@clubchampionmedia Saying generally that you went from a 2 to a plus 1 or scratch to plus 2 doesn't say much about whether that's based on a swing change or specific equipment or some combination thereof. Where did the improvement come from? A driver change? Putter? Wedges? Getting a long iron out of the bag? Etc. My comment was about sharing more detail on the videos. Don't take offense, none intended, but to me watching you guys change out an entire bag basically every season and then saying you went down two points on your index doesn't really answer those questions. Ever give thought to baselining your and Matt's data and then follow for a season or two showing if and how tweaks here and there help change the results? (or maybe the results don't change sometimes, either).
Enjoyed the video! Any reason why you didn’t compare the S grind 60 with the md5 s grind 60? And to comment on the wedge shaft, Dustin Johnson apparently plays KBS 120 in his lob wedge.
God I would love a GCQUAD to practice with. I don't think I'd ever leave my garage. Looking to put some Vokeys in my bag with my next upgrade for sure. They're not just practical, they're beautiful as well!
Hey guys. I have a bad lower back and struggle staying down in shots with my wedges. I am contemplating going with single length wedges set at pw length. Are you guys able to speak to some of the pros and cons of building all the wedges the same length and to some of the challenges and things to keep in mind when building the set. How does keeping the lengths the same affect loft amd gapping? I am guessing the gapping will be tighter so Iight have to increase loft gaps to keep the clubs from bunching up? Might be something to address in a live?
Love my sm8 wedges in jet black with my onyx s400 shafts 🔥🔥. I'm def. interested in seeing graphite wedge shaft compared to steel... MMT scoring wedge shafts seem interesting.
Do you have a time frame on when your doing the shaft fitting on these sm8s? Looking to change out mine and ran across this. Would love some feedback on lighter grams myself.
How often should you replace your wedges realistically. I hit my driver around 290 on average so I hit many wedges. I have been playing MG2 wedges for 1 year now. I play 3 rounds a week and hit the rage twice a week. Should I be thinking of new wedges
What grind did Matty end up with on the 55? Was it F? I see the 50 is F, 60 is S...? If his 55 is F then we play the same lofts and grind SM8s - I do need more bounce playing here in the tropics though!
Love the Agnostic tinkering, would like to see future videos on using the collection of course round data strengthen the bag or points to further fitting tuning. 👍#letsgorebeccatxg
I am really considering, flying up to canada for a couple weeks and have my next fitting with the guys at TXG....and maybe while im there get a couple rounds of golf in with Ian and Matt...
Ian. Questions on a Callaway Epic Flash Driver. What does Triple Diamond 💎 mean on the Driver? And it is Lefthand 8.5 deg. Loft. Thanks if you can Help out.
wedge question 4 the experts, here in AZ I can play lush Troon course 1 day and firm AZ summer muni the next, bunkers to match. how do i determine which bounces and which wedges for multi conditions? 50-10, 54-14, 58-8? keep all at 10ish amd learn to close/open as conditions dictate? 6 index, help?
I think shying away from vokeys to keep the bag brand agnostic would be just as bad as only wanting to play 1 brand, so kudos Matt. With the new TSi line, no reason Titleist can’t be the best option throughout the bag!
@@ianfrasergolf to me that’s just weird. I’d still want to put the new ones up against my existing wedges and confirm. But then again, I have to pay for my clubs 😩
He said it was the look at address. Not thrilled with them. Since he is being fitted, it’s his preference. If it was a full test, they would include more brands.
25 minutes of TXG to start the day? Yes please!
To end the day for me in Australia
How on earth does this channel not have 1M+ subs? This is the best golf content on YT.
I’m sure with due time they will. Still fairly ‘new’ in the RUclips game but the product is top notch. Probably be a top 5 golf channel in no time.
I just realized I wasn't subscribed. Good lookin out.
These boys are unreal much respect to them and what they do. They have helped my game so much
AINEC
Live Fittings/WITB gapping is by far the best thing TXG does!

330am here in Queensland Australia. Getting ready for day shift. Thanks guys, it makes a long day bearable watching your content👍
Ditto here mate haha
I'd love to see wedge shaft fitting more than the heads even...

So could you bend the zip core 1゚ stronger to help the ball flight?
Other questions, thoughts on blending zip core and sm8?
I could take Professor Frasier's golf class every day. Can't believe how much knowledge comes out of these.
Can’t wait for that shaft follow up!! I’m in the same boat! I play S4’s and recently went down in weight in my iron shafts too
Looking forward to the shaft discussion. Have a great and safe weekend.

Love the Vokey wedges, go for the matt black, stops the sun reflecting and look stunning. Great vlog as usual! 👍👏👏
Excellent content and substance once again. Glad I’ve found this channel a few months ago!
How could anyone NOT love a Vokey!
This is right up my alley. Would love to see some MMT wedge shafts in the mix

Nice job men!! Learned so.much ty!! Matty can't argue there ,,,,SM8 I'd say best looking wedge!! Hope they take 3,4 strokes off game!! Good luck !!
Superb stuff, boys. I’m a Titleist boy (T100s and SM8s) so I approve. 👍🏻
Should of tried the Taylor made TW grind wedges . A class of there own especially the 60 for versatility. And I’m only a mid swing player
Love the content on wedges! Would love to see a follow up video on shaft selection..

I put the KBS hi rev 2.0 115 x stiff shafts In my vokeys. The guy's at the store tried to talk me out of it. Best decision Ive made

Fantastic video!
Ian or Matt, what grind and loft used for vokey 55 degree 11 loft? 54 10s or 56 12d. Thanks
Can you guys test out the new Ben Hogan Equalizer 2 Wedges?
I keep teasing myself on the vokey site building some wedges. I’m gonna have to pull the trigger one day.

Ian. Questions on a Callaway Epic Flash Driver. What does Triple Diamond 💎 mean on the Driver? And it is Lefthand 8.5 deg. Loft. Thanks if you can Help out.
Yes!
Would love to see Matt in some Artisan wedges!
How much are those artisan wedges?
I know you do not rep Hogan clubs but their wedges are buttery smooth.
I play Hogan Equalizer wedges and yes, they are smooth.
Love my Mizuno s18’s don’t want to switch them out anytime soon.
Ian. Any Chance to try graphite Shafts when you try the Shaft fix?
Hey Ian. Hope all is well. I’m in the market for a new driver fwy and hybrid. What’s the wait like to get fit?
Matty’s gonna be a full member of team titleist
Would it not make sense to play a heavier shaft at gap wedge and a lighter/softer shaft at 55 and 60??
Great video
Was Matt hitting a Prov1? Would the ball make a difference in the wedge fitting?
Love these videos guys.
Nothing wrong with an all Titleist bag, they make great products!

Just left a comment about what type might be best for someone getting back into golf on yesterday’s video. Now this one comes out lol.
Is the standard Vokey wedge shaft an S200?
When are the new Cobra Wedges being tested?

Any news on when new ping wedges are out?
I thought Matt was going to use the Mizuno bracket buster?
When can we see some on course stuff.
This is some great stuff
Love these 👍👍
I think Matt should hit the zip codes with KBS .610 shafts. Game changer for me..
Really like to see Matt try seven wood
No testing of the Vokeys against the existing Mizunos? 🤔
No, Matt said at the start of the video he wanted to hit reset and try something new.
@@ianfrasergolf to me that’s just weird. I’d still want to put the new ones up against my existing wedges and confirm. But then again, I have to pay for my clubs 😩
@@cameronloveless1751 exactly, Matt will change his clubs more often than most because he can.
Matty could literally just pick the clubs that look the best to him and be just fine. This was fun to watch.
What’s the knock on TM MG2 wedges it seems, is it the look, or is it performance?
He said it was the look at address. Not thrilled with them. Since he is being fitted, it’s his preference. If it was a full test, they would include more brands.
Was he testing with stock shaft???
Gaming SM8's myself! 50(8F), 54 (10S) & 58 (12D)
What loft does Matt play in his PW?
Does anyone else click like before the video has even started 😂
Hey Matt, as you've finished with the Mizuno's how about putting them in the post to me here in Spain #nothingfeelslikeamizuno
Love it!
To avoid the 14 clubs of one brand, would Matty play the bracket winning driver?
I think Matty could get 10K spin out of a fly swatter.
Fly is like, "WTF?"
Mizuno needs to remake the mp10.. best wedge ever. Id buy 4 sets lol
You should upgrade to the Cobra Forged Tec.
Great performance, and best looking wedges on the market.
Mr. Titleist !!!
