  • Our 300 ton hydraulic press arrived surprisingly early to our workshop. It was too heavy for our forklift so we had to get bigger one and fast, and all this in serious snow storm that made unloading the truck especially difficult.
You can now buy your own hydraulic press through us! Press inquiries hpc@profipress.info
Here is the link where you can check out standard Profi Press models rhtc-workshopp... and if you need special custom made machine just send email and Profi Press engineers will design machine that suits your needs.

Also a funny straight translation is "But a village rises" :D
(because a village = kylä, but he used slang, so he said "kylä" = kyllä = yes, so a straight translation is "But yes rises", but everybody knows that it means what others had said before me here in comments)

Gotta say it's on the next level of difficulty of ordering things when you need not only:
call the truck driver who is both lost and not proficient in any language you are,
    but also:
spot him, then catch him practically mid-drive and make him stop for you to unload your order yourself.
It's almost like a quest in some game.

I want to see if the meat turns into toothpaste or something more interesting. Maybe make 1 metal sub that will squish and 1 carbon fiber that will pop. It is sad what happened to the ppl and I don't make light of their death, I also know that information is never a bad thing and most adults can separate tragedy from education if you know what I mean.

I know what you mean, it that's not a bad idea. I've seen CGI simulations, but they are too clean (I'm not sure how else to put it) and you don't get the same feel as seeing it in real life.
It was a tragedy and should never have happened, but there is also still more to learn from it.

Lifting machinery is very tricky. I once had to lift a AUD $2m machine off a truck. We hooked up to the installed lifting eyebolts and one pulled out with about one tonne of load and the machine fell about 100mm to the deck of the truck. We inspected the lifting eyebolt and someone at the factory had screwed in the wrong size. We refused the lift until the correct lifting eyebolt could be sourced, next day.

Wow you guys a keen for testing lifting from the bottom of the new press.
12:00 very lucky the strops held, where you've looped the strops to make a slip loops? Sorry I don't ow the term, but strops will fail at the lashing points.
What you's could have done is, fold the strop in half connect to the press with heavy duty D shackles on each corner.
Then run the strop from one corner → over the hook then down to the other side & shackles or dubble the strop strength and return to the same D-shackle... And copy the for all 4 corners that way the are shorter and stronger...
Doing those slip loops things ½ or less the safety liftg weight, it's like having a twist in a chain, don't do it? They break 😳😱
Good luck with the new press

I am surprised that you used a choker on the rings of the press. Not that you mat have needed the strength but a lot is lost in that rigging. Would doubling up have worked? It certainly would have given you the clearance you needed.

I'm not sure if your floor is strong enough to bolt the press to the floor in the long-term. If something gives at full force, what kind of reaction forces will there be on the floor?
If the (assuming very heavy) cylinder snaps down, it will try to pull the press (and all of the anchored parts of the floor) off of the floor with quite a lot of force, and immediately slam back down. To me it feels like concrete would be pretty bad at taking that kind of loading.
A single big snap would be like one hit from those rock-breaking attachments that excavators have.

    • @Beyondthepress
      @Beyondthepress  8 месяцев назад +9

We are going to bolt it down and the floor is also super sturdy. My dad decide to make it 200mm thick back in the day and put a coating that is meant for steel tracked vehicles like tanks :D
