compared to NSdesigns upright bass, the Stagg is physically much harder to play. Maybe it is because the NSDesigns bass comes installed with low tension strings. Not sure if the Stagg has high or low tension strings
You get use to the neck & strings, they're like most upright strings & they can be changed. The strings feel similar to a normal upright, I tried a few. The NS is lovely but I thought it sounded very much like an electric fretless bass, the stagg sounds closer to an upright, provided the tone is set correctly, also I do like the full length body.

Hi I never saw your comment, I'm really sorry. This is the regular version not the deluxe version. It still has the Staff stock strings which sound pretty good for cheap db strings. Bless
