I never knew what his acting credits were before Sid and Nancy. Now I know. I thought he was a complete newcomer to the movies as well as Chloe Webb. Not positive, but I think he’s played Americans more often than Englishmen.
Man, I wanna meet a young bored millonaire as well. I would even sleep in his garden. Though I just don't understand why he can't let the dude sleep inside the house. It's freekin' cold to sleep in a van, especially in winter.
Couldnt watch it beyond 4 minutes. I will assume Garys character was suspect number 1 in a multi murder investigation, and the girls copper Dad ends up shooting him, before Garys party turns into mass suicide arranged by a mysterious charismatic cult leader, who turns out to be the cleaning lady.
LOL your assumption was better than the actual story line!!!! turns out he is just a bored rich orphan who is super lonely because he does nothing all day and parties with people who just care about his money at night. he ends up taking a lodger who is poor and needs an address for social security purposes and it makes him ridiculously happy. its a sweet story but i think yours would have been more fun to watch!!! (ever thought of taking up screen writing?) 😀
I take issue with the idea that this is well written. I have rarely seen such a fantastic premise thrown away so badly. Countless intriguing opportunities are introduced for his relationships with the supporting characters but none of them are explored and so none pay off. However, GO (as in all of these clunky early works) is so full of energy, charm, grace, charisma, sincerity and sheer talent that it is breathtaking to behold.
