He says multiple time on different records just because I don’t talk about the same ish as y’all do don’t get it confused. Kendrick has literally bounced around every style known to music during this battle idk why Drake took this battle this man has a Pulitzer for a reason his music is studied in universities for a reason Drake should have never allowed his ego to step out of the realm of just rapping with Kendrick. Once he bought up Kendrick family it went downhill from there smh.
Metro definitely has a signature sound. So does Mike Dean. But I also get what you’re saying. I was in my teens and early 20s during that 90s early 2005 era. Nothing will ever touch that era for me.
Love your reaction and can relate to your opinions…. I’m about to be 44 & know there’s nothing like 90’s/early 2000’s hip hop; kdot is an exception. I probably stopped actively listening when or just before Aubrey muddied & colonized the genre (I was born in Toronto by Trinidadian parents, and moved to fl at 16). Kendrick is definitely an old soul. That educated brother reminds me so much of Tupac (RIP). And yeah, Goodie Mobb & OutKast are some of my fav artists from the south (living in south FL/Broward county) - I could pop their records on or cds in (and of course, cassette tapes - rip lol) no matter what year it is, and I can listen from start to finish with zero skips.. Nothing anyone can do to stop Kendrick - that man is built differently in the best way possible for this generation & I LOVE it for my 19yo son (BEEN playing older music for him so he knows what REAL sh!t & lyricists are☺️). Thanks for the reaction! 🫶🏾
Yes sir definitely a goodie mob fan, Andre 3k to me is one of the best Lyricist of all time, if u notice Kendrick get his style from Andre 3k, via the voice manipulation in songs and flow changes . Andre 3k was known to talk on beats like he having a casual conversation, then switches his flow by rapping fast, pausing, rapping again using metaphors triple & double tundras, best example is Andre 3k legendary verse on aquemini.!! Andre3k & goodie mob had substance and dropped so many jewels in they're music!! I'm born n 93" but had a father who listened to all the southern goats! Jt money, ugk, etc
