this word "identity" is thrown around so lightly these days. Let me tell you what their identity is, it's unpredictability. They won't get predictable with a particular kind of sound, their sound is to make you feel unsettling, for those who don't hear their music that is. Even me as a fan gets surprsed, and that's why I love about nmixx. Identity isn't made in a couple of years, they are going against the flow, it'll be hard for them, and I'm glad that they are successfully doing so. criticism is welcomed though, but pushing them to follow a standard or rule isn't them. that's where they will lose their identity.
I also understand nmixx in the same way: unpredictable! Most Kpop groups stick to one sound, one style and often get attacked once they grow and want to try different things. Nmixx seems to struggle now with gaining audience but they will live long, vibrant, and always fresh. Only talents can support this approach.
I think I have to agree with knetz on JYP losing his touch. He was releasing only bops back then so I wondered what happened. NMIXX's newest comeback wasn't bad but it wasnt my cup of tea
@@onghwang7026 who Knetz? I see Some Knetz tell thats his touch was back again. This song Is BOP, if this Song is not cup of your cup of tea so thats not the Solid statement that JYP lose his touch
ive seen a LOT of people both here on youtube and instagram flaming nmixx for this "change" in concept but may i remind everyone that nmixx's concept IS change theyve only had four comebacks in their almost two year career, yet people are defining them to a singular sound which i think is unfair its all just different sides to the same dice imo, ALSO its a summer track about meeting in the forest and partying lol, its not going to sound like O.O or Dice I agree that naturally we tend to associate NMIXX with a grittier, edgier sound but my theory is that theyre heading the red velvet route, as in every comeback will be different to expand their lore
@@Star1. even o.o is the hard song for rookie debut song and was VERY GOOD song enough to showcase their vocals, from here we can see that they just don't like everything that nmixx do fr
actually this is a summer comeback , i think the producers wanted to show freshness and summery vibe to it, they have cb in sep or oct i think which is a mini or a full album. I think they will continue their lore on o.o and dice
Party 0'clock is honestly a bit hard for me to place because i love some parts of the song but other parts feel off, i LOOVED Rollercoaster though. One thing i feel like a lot of people don't understand about Nmixx is the actual mixx part of their concept doesn't just revolve around changing a song genre halfway through the song. For me after "Love me like this" came out it fully cemented what the group would sound like, unpredictable, that's the actual mixx part of nmixx you won't guess what they are putting out next or what genre they might do next. A lot of groups are doing that these days and I'm glad for them not putting nmixx in a box
Hmmm but I feel like most groups change it up with every comeback though and NMIXX’s change up was based around their songs having change ups which is more unique than changes between comebacks but I’m enjoying where they’re going.
I instantly connected with Roller Coaster and Party O'Clock. They're just so light and fun, and the melodic choices are so great. I feel like this concept fits all the members vs only some members standing out consistently with their edgier stuff. But they also may be pulling a Red Velvet. People forget that their Velvet side titles didn't do as well as their Red side early on. Even when they had double title tracks (Ice Cream Cake and Automatic), the Red track performed better. This was the case for a good while with their Velvet tracks not performing as well. In 2016, they announced that they would just stick to the "Red Velvet" concept, which is a mix of both sides. Then they came out of nowhere with Badboy. People loved it. Then we got more Velvet title tracks. All this to say, maybe Nmixx are waiting for people to miss their "Mixxpop sound" and adjust before releasing another track that falls in that category.
Really love Party O'Clock, it reminds me a bit of Twice More and More era a little sound wise. I think they really killed it and gave a lot of vocals and I feel they maintained a lot of their sound, production isnt inherently the identity of a group
I vibe a lot with roller coaster I can't stop singing it😖Also I kinda noticed that this song suits so much bae's style, she didn't stood out much to me before but she's definitely got a pretty tone
The thing is NMIXX is unpredictable so pushing them to a more standard sounds makes the unpredictable unique NMIXX comebacks wont be NMIXX anymore they would just be "boring"
The perspective of focusing identity through "beat or sound" seems off. Identity of Nmixx is more of being very wild with their vocals that they can work with any genre. It implies NewJeans having no vocal identity and mostly rely on Y2K and Ador direction. Also take a look at IVE. They have no specific identity. Both NJ and IVE just make good music. They hatin on Nmixx for no reason because of lacking identity?? Dude
I enjoy watching reactions from this channel cause of musical insights but to blatantly say they abandoned mixxpop (which they obviously didn’t) based on two back to back released (lmlt was in production when jini left) and now a summer song, is criminal.
I like these two songs, and while I REALLY like the sound and their talent definitely shines through, I do miss the edginess of O.O and Dice. It leaves them in a bind because they were absolutely torn to shreds for those two songs and their sound had to adjust slightly. I really want SQUAD to step up a tad and really try and define what makes them unique. Or get 3Racha to produce a beat for them lol
people don’t agree with what I say but a lot of groups are trying to go with the new jeans concept because it’s getting love but they don’t realize their making it boring now

Fun Fact : Park Jin Young (JYP) has participating in Lyrics, Arrangement and even Choreo to Party O Clock for the first time with NMIXX
So I can blame all the little parts I don't like about the song to him, haha. The man's a legend but he's been a bit out of touch for awhile already

I used to think that there songs were like that so they can mash up with each other perfectly 😂

Yeahh I hear this!
Rollercoaster 5 second verse 2 always throws me off, but I ain’t complaining because that chorus CHORUSES!
The hint in the end makes me think that maybe they could come back with something grittier for Halloween

00:40 its called Amen Break
Of course it’s an summer single album
I think this is soft only because it is a summer comeback. The teaser at the end already looks darker

Wow they really put Lily on the back burner for Roller Coaster, no idea why but it feels wrong.
Honestly just let stray kids produce everything at jyp 😂 there problem solved
Nah nah, let day6 and skz produce. That way you get softer more vocal heavy things and more intense stuff as well
Hello money but goodbye quality if that happens 😂
I recommend you 'hey mama' nmixx covered
