Thank you! I didn't even think of that when I was up there, now you have me wondering as well. Guess I'll have to go back and take a look!

Nice ! Neat area ! Love the GSI Minimalist ! Great camera work and editing man ! Best of luck to you in the Whites ! Your going to love the Bonds, make sure you take the little spur trail to West Bond. In my opinion the best views in the Whites ! Cheers

Thanks brother! It is a great cup no doubt, I've been using it for like 4 years now. I remember from last year you told me to be sure I hit West Bond so it is definitely on the list of peaks I want to go up. I'll have a solid 5 days to spend up there this year so I'm thinking 2-3 days for the Bonds and surrounding area and I'm going to try and throw in either Owl's Head or Mt Madison (last of the presidential's I need to tag). Madison is sounding like the better option though.

Caps Outdoors Right on, I did Owls Head last August, I m glad I did it but it wasn’t the best. I really don’t enjoy the long approach coming in from Lincoln Woods ! Have fun man !

I used that same Sony Action Cam years ago and also dropped mine in the Catskills that scratched the lens too. Mine actually fell off of a cheap tripod and rolled to the bottom of the West Kill River. I was able to reach to the bottom to retrieve it. Those cams are a pain to change those lenses. Luckily now I have the Hero 9 Black that has swappable lenses that are easy to change.

How are you liking the Hero 9? I was thinking of making a switch but I don't know many people that own the 9 so every little bit helps! Thanks for checking the video out and for the comments. I'm kind of in my Winter slumber right now but I'll be getting back out soon.

@@capsoutdoors It's night and day compared to the Sony. The 9 currently has it's best deal yet if you buy directly from GoPro's website, $350 and comes with some extras. I've mostly used the Hero 7 Black and have just 1 video with the 9 so far. But even the 7 was far superior to the Sony. I really liked the Sony and was also hesitant to switch a few years ago, but once I did I discovered why people rave about the GoPro. Hero 9 has 4K/5K, Stabilization, Timewarp, 240FPS at 1080p, front and rear screen. Sorry to sound like a salesman just want to give you the info. (My Franc Ridge, Wittenberg, Giant Ledge, and the NYC bike vids I have are all with the 7 Black, only my LSP vid is with the 9). If you'd like take a look at them to check the quality, they are all in 4K. Good luck, shoot me a message if you have any questions. Cheers!

@@jaytheurbanviking I think that is what is selling me on the 9, all the shooting modes you get with it (240fps 1080p - oh yeah!!!!). I am definitely going to go check out some of your stuff and see what it is like. Thanks my friend!

@@capsoutdoors if you do decide to upgrade go with the 9 and not the discounted 7 or 8 even though they are very low now. The 9 is an incredible cam for its size and price, perfect for a Pemi Loop or other ultralight backpacking trip. On that note, I watched a bunch of your stuff including the half Pemi, I was also looking at staying at Thirteen Falls sometime. Again, if you have questions about the GoPro feel free to ask. I've used them extensively. Cheers.

You are about to get a whole bunch of change 😂🤣
Why is there a monument on #slidemountain for #hikers that died in the #whitemountains ?

The monument for the hikers in the Whites is named after 2 guys, Bill Curtis and Alan Ormsbee. Curtis was the founder of the New York Athletic Club and the Fresh Air Club, and Ormsbee a member of the Crescent Athletic Club. The Lakes of the Clouds hut in the Whites is the final structure that the AMC built in the area where Curtis perished. Ormsbee was found higher up Mt Washington, also ravaged by the weather. At the time that they were overcome by the weather there was nothing in that area. The AMC built a small hut there the year after to give hikers shelter from the weather. Eventually that structure was removed and the area had the Lakes of the Clouds hut built. My memory on the story may be a bit fuzzy though but that is the gist of it.
Had I not been so tired I would have actually talked about this when I got to the monument in the video, HAHA!
