Featuring Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman, 'Somethin' Stupid' was the first single from Robbie's album 'Swing When Your Winning', and saw him simultaneously top both the UK Album and Singles Chart for Christmas 2001.
It was a second Top 40 hit duet for Nicole that year, who made her UK Chart debut in October when she and Ewan McGregor reached No. 27 with 'Come What May' from Baz Luhrmann's musical film Moulin Rouge!
'Somethin' Stupid' was original recorded by Frank Sinatra and his daughter Nancy - their version also reached No. 1 on the UK Chart, spending two weeks at the top in April 1967. Both versions were recorded in Hollywood, Los Angeles - Robbie's at the legendary Capitol Studios and Frank's at United Western Recorders.

I did not particularly care for the video though and I’m afraid I am one of those , now very elderly sorts, whom thoroughly disapprove of tattoos (amongst a host of other things!) simply because in my day they were the mark of yobs and hooligans etc . I was just reading Nicole’s body of work from her first role in BMX Bandits. My god she has worked so hard in so many genres. I didn’t realize just how many projects she’s been involved in sometimes 3 movies a year among other things. She’s unreal and it’s obviously a strong love affair with creating characters that drives her. She puts in the work to nail each performance. She’s not a lazy actor whatsoever. I used to work as film/TV crew and I would have given anything to have observed her process. Before I worked as crew I acted myself but didn’t have the single minded self belief absolutely necessary to become a working actress but when I watch her even though I’m old now, would love to have worked with her. I was working on a day time chat show and Ray Martin interviewed her after Dead Calm just days before she was to fly out to do Days Of Thunder. She was so sweet to me and her laugh...totally infectious and so natural. Her face was like a beautiful painting one couldn’t stop looking at. Her divine blue eyes. So special even then. I’m 3 years older than her and the way she has (hasn’t) aged is sooooo unfair when I look at my face lol. She deserves every accolade that comes her way.

It is her voice. You should watch Moulin Rouge! Nicola Kidman and Euan McGregor 😮 you will be blown away!
She can sing, she just doesn't do it often enough. Moulin Rouge was the main time I've seen her do a majority of her singing.
Still waiting for her to collaborate with her current (and loving) husband, Keith Urban, but I guess she likes to give him the spotlight.
On a side note, the many covers of this have often been done opposite an actor/actress who can sing. Michael Bublé did a rendition of it with Reese Witherspoon.
