As an OU fan, I just want to give a big thank you to the entire SEC Conference & all its programs! I don’t think we beat-out Miami in the Mateer battle without, “a bigger stage”. This was the trade-off for joining the SEC for OU. Tougher competition, less likelihood to be the conference champ, roster attrition…in exchange to be better prepared for the post-season, better recruits (including the chance to get them), & ultimate recognition! It’ll pay-off in the long run! So, for this…my gratitude. On a related note, insiders are saying it wasn’t Miami that was the biggest threat to getting Mateer. Apparently, Belichick at Chapel Hill, NC. was contacting Mateer’s camp & even had Tom Brady talking in his ear. It was such a threat that Mateer’s fam was prepared to board a plane & fly to NC after they left Norman, OK. Thankfully, BV never let him leave before committing. Moreover, OU countered Brady by getting one Baker Mayfield on the phone to speak to Mateer & that’s all she wrote! Miami was a distant 3rd place 😂
Yeah, if Nic Anderson wasn't made of glass, he could be amazing. I definitely see his potential. Unfortunately he is always injured, and starts drama in the locker room.
Anderson and another WR sat out as “injured” and was “healthy” for the portal… These are FACTS. I’m sorry but I just don’t want that poison around my team. Back in my day we called them quitters.
These schools are spending funny money on kids that barely stay healthy. Sure Nic Anderson is an amazing pick up by LSU, when he is on the field. Unfortunately, one must question his fortitude at this point. He is clearly, beyond injury prone, and he has no problem blaming others for his inability to get on the field. Oklahoma has one of the, if not the best medical staff nationwide, he blamed them for his inability to recover. He lied about multiple things, accused them of refusing an MRI and other silliness. According to multiple sources, he lied about what happened, and started undermining the program by taking multiple guys to outside medical experts. I'll be watching for him next season, lets see how many snaps he plays. 😂
Listening at 3:40 a.m. from UT medical center after brain surgery yesterday, how desperate am i? :). Having an MRI in the next 30 minutes... So they don't want to go back to sleep.
I enjoy the hell out of your show! It's one of 2 or 3 podcasts I would join but being on a fixed income I have to watch every penny. You've got a good thing going so keep doing what you and I'll keep listening as a 2nd cousin.
@ Mike, that’s why LSU got in trouble last year. We weren’t active in the first portal, which made us desperate in the second portal and then guys were asking for even MORE nil bc they knew schools were desperate.
How are yall counting Notre Dame as an automatic win for Arkansas? They did watch this last years team right. They do realize theyve lost almost 30 players to the portal (thats a lot of bodies you now have to replace). Im sorry but what.
Cam Ward played in the same system before going to Miami. Pavia played bloody JUCO Football before going to Vandy. Mateer will be playing in the same system, with the same OC/QBC he played under at WSU, at OU. Sure, EVERY transfer in any position, could be a bust. No matter which way things go with Mateer, you will be saying....''Look, I told you so'' lol.
Bommer...bring on Jackson Arnold's scared ass.. cant make reads fumbles fumbles in other trams red zone Dude sucks plus he's not a team player ... Mayfield number 2. ...mateer sec not ready for oklahoma
OU is in a way better spot now that mateer is in town

Sooner 💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
Missed the live but loved the playback Couz! Hilarious 😂 GOO! VOLSSS!!
OU paid for Bauer Sharp to leave and Nic Anderson has played 1 year out of the 3 he’s been on campus but yeah, LSU is just kicking ass
😂😂🎯
It's always the hurt people that lash out.
Yeah, if Nic Anderson wasn't made of glass, he could be amazing. I definitely see his potential. Unfortunately he is always injured, and starts drama in the locker room.
Both are good players. I’m really upset Nic left. Our fans are butthurt af

Reportedly, he was a cancer of the wr room. If true, good riddance! Have fun with that gamble LSU! 👍

Listening late night in Knoxville too. Hope your surgery goes well man
Sending prayers your way!
@@ThatSECPodcast thanks, going home today hopefully!

Appreciate that! You're part of the family either way!
That's awesome for Vandy. They deserve a break
All do respect he needs to go to lead . Dude like 25years old playing with 18 and 19 ,20 year old kids.
Who Nic Anderson?
Most starters in college are 21, 22, 23 years old
@ ok
OU will be very strong next season as the defense is very stout . Now offense will be much better .
The word broke Lahoma shall be stricken from the records and never be spoken again
We are still outside the top ten looking in.
@ Take away the high n the low…slide us in where we want to go.
Vandy needs to convert that new found success into a boost in recruiting
Cousins, how in the hell does anyone not see the sec as the toughest

I never would have guesses a blue blood was so broke.
Why do they think Notre Dame is one of the wins for Arkansas?
Nic Anderson IF HEALTHY, will be good. Make sure you don't have Sharp block or throw a pass.
Vandy going back to back over Bama!
How amazing would that be!?
Gotta have that Orange Koolaid
If OU offense is clicking, they can get 9 or 10 W's.
Hey Mike you still picking us to win five games
Anderson is talented but fragile. Sharp has physical tools but he needs proper development in order for LSU to get anything out of him.
Welcome in

Because Notre Dame is always overrated and lost to Northern Illinois
@tankj1346 and Notre Dame is also 11-1 in the playoffs. They do bring in talent whether they're overrated or not.

What Shane was talking about was false rumors about suite access, among other wild rumors.
BOOMER SOONER
I'm not impressed with mateer are Washington State plays is cream puffs so of course he's going to have some outrageous stats

It will be fun watching Jackson Arnold vs Mateer next year.
Arnold will need those legs next season for OUDNA DEFENSE....
Jackson is not good , with all respect. He just cannot pass and fumbles a lot
Oklahoma fans were saying the same shit last off-season, they suck plain and simple
@@tankj1346 no one expected Jackson to be this bad . A five star bust
