I was here to find out if this was the one that didn’t require a tune. I’m gonna get a tune at some point but I don’t need it yet I just got the 900 so I should get used to being on such a touchy and smaller bike. These XSR’s are no joke. Thanks for the clean and clear tutorial. Appreciated
Thinking of putting one of these on my XSR900 Other options are VanDemon ( Australian) or Delkevic (Uk). Great detailed vid on the installation. Top work 👍
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I hope you liked and subscribed. I have not had any experience with those exhausts you mentioned but I'm sure they would sound great.
I’ve got the same bike and exhaust and everything works great except it’s quite jerky below 2000 rpm, especially in first or second gear. I wonder if it might be the akrapovic exhaust and lack of tuning it since install, have you noticed any similar issues? I haven’t tried it with stock exhaust so it may just be how this bike is.
@@rsv4pilot114 that was a quick reply :) Maybe there’s something else wrong with mine then, hopefully nothing serious as I just got it second hand. It’s fine at high revs though
That's just the nature of the bike. Requires intense finesse constantly while high speed cornering to avoid that jerk midcorner. Choppy throttle and terrible rear suspension are the major highlights for the negatives of our bike. For a budget solution I ordered a use tracer 9 gt suspension and threw it in but for the gas all it takes is more wrist control and some clutch manipulation.
I have not removed it yet. I have been meaning to but I either didn't have time or forgot about it. I am actually gonna do a video on it soon but my job has been keeping me busy.
Anytime you change an exhaust system you should replace the exhaust gaskets the old ones Crush to the ceiling area of the head pipe going in and exhaust port and old ones will crush and seal differently and can cause an exhaust leak if you have a problem falling out put a little grease on them and they will stay up inside the exhaust port
I have an '21 XSR9 and am in the market to upgrade my exhaust - I noticed that the s/s akra exhaust is the only one with the "loop" section before the muffler...is that to restore some back pressure to maintain low end torque now that the Cat is deleted?
I'm not sure but if I had to guess, I'd say that's probably why. But to get the true answer, I think you'd have to call Akra and ask them. I wondered the same thing myself.
Well i bought it this past Saturday and love it . seats a lil hard but will get use to it . bike feels like it just wants to go but have to have self control during break in . I had a Kawasaki ZRZ1200A2 and hp is very close to xsr900 and torque.
@@rsv4pilot114 Great! I just installed mine last night and thanks to your video it really helped me. I think I'll leave my DB killer in too for a little but and see how it goes. Thanks again for the video and help.

It ran great. Some popping on decel. I did not tune it. Should have to make it even better but I don't know anyone around my area that can do that and I don't trust some random person on the internet to mess with my ecu. So I just left it alone and had no issues.
@RSV4 Pilot that's cool. But if you notice the bike not running well you could ruin the motor. It's very important that the bike doesn't run lean. I am doing the same mods.

Yeah. Exhausts on youtube are never like they are in person

nice! does it do a cracking high pitched takaktakttak sound when you rev it? other videos with this exhaust has that annoying sound when revved.
