I have examined literally thousands of music transcriptions available through the internet. Yours are the best I've ever found. I'm not a professional musician, but I've always enjoyed playing with other players. Rarely have I found that they are willing to pay attention to the details required to play their parts accurately. Most often, they say something like, “I like to do it my way” or “I like to put my own spin on it.” That's just fine by me IF you have learned it properly first. I think many players are missing some great lessons in technique that can be discovered through precise reproduction of recorded parts. That is one big reason your transcriptions are so appreciated by me. Furthermore, the quality and content of your videos has probably given me enough inspiration to carry me through the rest of my life. I also like the fact that I don't have to spend time searching for accurate transcriptions, which gives me more time to practice. I don't want to sound like a fanboy, but I felt it would be wrong not to acknowledge my heartfelt gratitude for what you do, Fusilli Jerry. Your content has even prompted me to subscribe to your Patreon channel, which I suppose is the best way to say thank you.
Thank you, sir. That is very much appreciated. I agree 100% with your thoughts as well. What I keep in mind while transcribing these is that these songs are rehearsed and played live dozens, maybe hundreds of times before they’re recorded. They’re crafted and molded a specific way. Any “improvisation” you hear on records comes from thousands of hours of pattern and phrasing development. Each note and articulation is chosen for a reason and unless I’m faithfully transcribing what these artists worked hard so to develop, there’s no reason to watch my stuff. I wish there were more hours in the day to put out more for you guys. I appreciate your support.
Hi! Great playing and transcription, first of all. Burning question: what is the source for the track? This version of the song has a count in at the beginning and that awesome guitar lick during the 10th measure, right after the first line of the verse ("I wanna love ya"). Neither Legend nor Kaya have the drumstick count in or the guitar lick. Can you please let me know the origin of this source recording?
Thankyou but I do find the placement line and the jerky scrolling very distracting. If you can smooth the scrolling and kill off the placement lime altogetherwould be great.
Thanks for your feedback. Working on getting these smoother. Check out the new stuff. Some more Marley videos are coming soon, too. Thanks for watching.
Just a personal opinion. Went and checked out the Patreon page. $30 a month!!!! And that's without seeing the quality/accuracy of any transcriptions. Sorry, no can do.
Thanks for your feedback. I'm in the process of re-evaluating the Patreon options. However, the transcriptions are included in all the videos here on RUclips. So, you can review them for quality and accuracy before becoming a patron. Thanks for watching and check back at a later time to see if the Patreon options become more attractive for you.
@@FusilliJerryBass OK man, thanks for the info, I'll monitor the page. As far as TABS are concerned I don't see a link to the TAB in the comment section, and if you're talking about the TAB with the video, well it's passing by at 132bpm, kinda hard to read. Like I said I'll check in regularly. Once again love your playing on this. Really good. EDIT: OK sorry man, my bad I see a link for the Marley tune but not for Crossroads.
It's definitely not wrong. You just need to practice it , and get some ear training...that's not meant to be an insult, if your a serious player, spend time with the song and you'll realize it's 100 percent accurate...I can bet I know which part you think is wrong. It's not...this tab is 100 percent accurate. And to the creator of the video, excellent work...I for one appreciate the work you put in.
My favorite song for deep bass...as a new bass player. New player of any instrument at 50 yrs old! Love your lesson!
That's awesome, I hope you continue on your bass journey. You're never too old to learn. Blessings.
