How Ben 10 Failed At Romance

I love Ben 10. I made like three videos on it already. I love its lore, character,s and worldbuilding especially. But it CANNOT do romance for it's life. And I don't know why they keep trying! Romance has consistently been a part of Ben 10 in every iteration but every time it just executes it terribly. Even when it makes a good relationship it either destroys it for terrible teen vdrama or just barely develops it at all. And of course not to mention the unbelievably toxic and forced. Its a point that pretty much everyone in the fanbase agrees is awful. But I seriously need to go into it to see how much it fundamentally fails at just the basic romance. Again I love Ben 10 and I hate being negative on the channel, and it is Valentine's Day, but I feel it needs to be talked about. And maybe we can use this to appreciate what's good about love and romance by observing what makes it bad.

The main problem with Ben and Kai is that the show wants you to believe that they're married in the future but whenever they're onscreen together in present day,they are ALWAYS FIGHTING. For two people who are supposed to be married in the future,they can't seem to stop arguing every 15 seconds. If there was atleast a change in their relationship at some point in Omniverse,then it would've been good. A change to show them gradually start caring about each other.

But yeah, Ben being a jerk was a BIG reason why I eventually dropped out of Ben 10 all those years ago.
