It doesn’t matter any longer as some people will always default to racism, it is an entitlement. The racism thing is defunct now, it has been overused so what if they can’t see it is not the colour of her skin. Black people can be racist as well.

I am white. Grew up extremely poor. I live in America. I went to school everyday. Got an education because I studied and worked hard. I raised my 6 children. Got divorced when my youngest was 4 and my oldest wash 14. The man who was the father of all my children never paid child support. However, I went to work everyday and raised 6 admirable children. At one point I was working 3 jobs. Never asked the government to pay anything for my children. Not food, not rent, nothing. I am not privileged!! I worked hard, took care of my children. No complaining on my life. I have lived a wonderful life because I choose to find joy in each moment. I am soooo beyond sick of the pitty party of those who play victim. Slavery is an abomination which is still going on all over the world today. Meghan has never known poverty. I could care less about her being biracial. The criticism she receives from millions is NOT due to her being biracial. It’s her self appointed importance, her lack of appreciation for her privileges, her me me me attitude and her beyond nastiness lying bitterness. She doesn’t know the value of hard work. She’s not worth giving any time or attention to. River is 1000% correct. We all have our challenges, problems and hardships. How we deal with them determines the measure of a human being we are. My advice to those who play the over sung victim card need to shut up, stand up, and do positive productive things so as to create a better world in which all of us live in -- every race, creed and color live on one planet. Thank you River for all you do for all of us. You are amazing and very insightful. Love you and appreciate the time you spend with all of us.

There’s an academic in African studies, an expert in slavery in the 19th century, who did the reverse slave route. Her and a group of Africa Americans boarded a ship on the east coast of America where the slave ships had landed. They traced the route back to Africa and landed in one of the original slave ports. Much to her surprise she came to a realization-- she was not Africa, she actually knew nothing (except what she’d read in a book) about Africa. She was nit raised in the culture and to identify as an African was disrespectful. She never again referred to herself as African-American.

River, I am white. My 3rd great grandfather was born in Ireland and moved to Bordeaux France as a child where he disappeared at the age of 12. He was kidnapped and forced into slavery on a ship. He was finally released in Kentucky at the age of 21. No one of any color should assume whites have never been slaves.

What people DONT like being reminded about is that in many cases it was AFRICANS selling FELLOW AFRICANS INTO SLAVERY. They ALSO sold captured white settlers and their families into slavery. There is STILL slavery going on in parts of Africa ( and other parts of the world ) today. Do you think if many Americans realise that ‘ AFRICA’ is NOT just one country, but many countries with hundreds of different cultures. ??.

Respectfully, as a black woman with mixed race children, I absolutely disagree with the individual who sweetly chastised you River. First, M is not 43% Nigerian and the world knows it. Second, M found out during the BLM movement that identifying as Black would be a benefit to her. Third, M's behavior within and without the royal family has been atrocious, whether she is black or white, which, by the way is all that she is in my opinion. Fourth, M's disrespect for the Nigerian people was beyond disgusting, non-royal and not in the least indicative of how women of color or any woman with one ounce of self-respect would interact with dignitaries as well as regular folk. Fifth, M's destain for the royals, her own family, and anyone who will not play along and join in on her delusions is evident every single time she opens her mouth. She is not representative of anyone other than herself! Finally, I have found your channel to be one of the most well-balanced of all those speaking about the undynamic duo. When Zara says ‘ I stand with my sister of colour’, does that mean we are all supposed to only support people who match our colouring irrespective of their behaviour. Isn’t that racist? As a white woman I would never support or like a nasty white person just because we match. I’m sorry Zara but people judge others by their character not their colour.
If Megan was 100% white I’d still totally dislike her and feel no desire to support her , also she treats people of colour terribly.

When the Harkles married I decorated my entire office area and all the cubicles with festive wedding regalia…got up early to watch with my tea and scones and clotted cream…I thought MM was a brilliant addition to the Royal Family and would add a beautiful layer of diversity. Then she started the shenanigans that led to Megxit and the Oprah interview showed her true colors. Since then she and Harry have continued to wreck their own lives. THE CRITICISM OF THESE TWO EX ROYALS IS ENTIRELY ABOUT THEIR ACTIONS AND CHARACTER and not one iota about skin color. She’s a white train wreck as far as I’m concerned. River, a wise man named Bob Marley, once said, "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our mind." I am black, and I am so tired of the nonsense from people with their simplistic self righteous views of being a victim of slavery. I know enough to know that before slavery was abolished, men and women did not volunteer to take a cruise in the Mid Passages. Likewise, the people who bought them did not take them at gunpoint. Their own people profited from the transactions. They named the price and made sure they got to the right buyer. I will also say that in trading, sellers attract buyers and vice versa. That's my two cents.

My great grandmother was an Irish woman from Dublin. As a child, her entire family died in the potato famine and she, the youngest and lone survivor, was put in a convent where she grew up. At the age of 15 she decided to set out for Australia on her own where they were trying to encourage migration to the sparsely populated regions. She was dropped off in Gladstone, Queensland, a village at the time, where she eventually met and married her husband, an Englishman. I can only imagine how painful those experiences must have been for that child growing up, then at 15 setting off into the unknown on the other side of the world, but how can I claim her experiences deeply affect me today? I didn’t share her experiences. I find it difficult when people such as the great grand children of slaves claim to be so affected by their forebears real sufferings when they are living an entirely different existence today under entirely different circumstances?

I'm a descendant of Jamaican slaves and only a quarter black, but I could write a book about all the racism I endured from my own father, who thought I was too white to be his even though I was his, the kids at my school and the townspeople, who all thought races shouldn't mix and tried to k...l me in numerous ways because they didn't think I should exist. My mother unwittingly moved us to a small town in the 1970's that had been KKK headquarters for the entire state of California in the 1930's. Racism is, unfortunately, alive and well in certain places, so I would never minimize what the descendants of slaves have endured. Some have had it much worse than you can imagine. But, Meghan, with her long list of proven lies clearly used the race card for profit. I spotted her phony claim for what it was from the get go. Meghan, and people like her, have made it so much worse for those of us who really have endured racism. Your great grandmother's experiences might be affecting you more than you know. Scientists have found that traumatic experiences really do get carried down for generations through the DNA. Perhaps a fear of abandonment and/or a fear of going hungry could be a direct result of what your great grandmother went through.

I am a little offended that people of color keep bringing it up. My 5th great grandfather was a 10 year old boy that was kidnapped in England and brought to America and sold as a slave. NOW WHAT???? Please people, just stop. I don't go around demanding recognition about my grandfather being a slave. I do not hold ANYONE accountable now because the people that had slaves are all passed on. It was a terrible event in all our history but geeezzz.

My father's side of the family were tin miners in Cornwall....most of them went down the mines aged 12. When the tin ran out in Cornwall they moved to Wales to the coal mines. It was because of my Gran refusing to allow my father to go down the mines and, moving the family to London where she cleaned people's houses so that my Dad could do an apprenticeship, that the family ma aged to pull themselves, eventually, out of poverty. My family are proud of our heritage and dont blame others from past history for anything

Genealogy has potential to identify some of the tribal origins of her African genetic pool if it can be traced to the first generation slaves in her ancestry and their original African names, if it possible to do. However, any genealogist that claims to be able to provide percentages is a fraud.

Hi River , as always your response to the email was spot on. My own criticism of H&M is not about colour , it's about the Royal Family. These two people who were stripped of their royal highness titles and chose to leave the royal family. They paraded around Nigeria like they were working royals. When the couple was introduced they were introduced with the royal highness title they lost. People were bowing too. They could have explained how they were to be introduced, but if they can stick it to the royal family more they will! That's what's wrong with them, this game of acting like royals when they don't work for our King. I'm Canadian and adore the royals, well most of them!❤

I am not white, a child of first generation Canadians. I have never known what it is to be white, and most of my friends growing up were also children of first generation Canadians, although they were mostly of European descent. What I see Meghan as “doing” and what I reject her for is her disrespect for family, her elders, and even her husband by way of her disrespect towards his family and his culture. She hides behind the banner of racism and uses it as a lure to hook people to her causes. I have about as much in common with Princess Catherine as an orange has with an apple. But what I do have in common with her is her reverence for the elderly, the sanctity of family, and the respect for traditions. This commonality is not the domain of any one race. The uproar against Meghan’s actions and the rejection of her because of those actions have been shared by people of a vast array of colours and cultures. River may not know the pain of slavery, but does Rachel? Standing behind her simply because she claims her black heritage is as foolish as standing with the hooded white racists just because they claim to be Christians. I wish people would use their heads and their eyes and see Rachel for the totality of who she is, not just for the colour of her skin.

I didn't even know what they were talking about as I had never been exposed to this history while in school overseas. Surrounded by school kids screaming vile obscenities at me and following me to the school gate. This started on the first day at school. The only thing my fellow pupils did not do was throw stones at me and accompany me with pitchforks and torches like in Frankenstein. I am still affected by this. Especially when I didn't have a clue about the topics that formed the basis of the vilification. In hindsight, it was an insight into mob rule and how a group of people can whip themselves into a frenzy. Personally, I find the handling of Diana from age 19 deplorable. I remember that Royal wedding, I was 21, married and thought it was magical. I now am 64 and look at the whole episode entirely different, it was a total foul up on many levels. So, it’s Harry’s goal to keep putting the screws to his own family while the leach gets her fill of self-indulgence and notoriety. Color doesn’t have a damn thing to do with it, Markle isn’t your Sister, she’s not even family to her OWN family.

      Too bad King
was a communist who with other black activists along with the Democrat party & Johnson launched the expansive Welfare State & allowed the civil rights movement to be hijacked by "special interest" groups that did INDEED force integration that torn neighborhoods apart & caused major conflicts & caused families to fracture when women traded husbands & fathers for a welfare check. As time went on more & more division occurred with Identity politics & 'ist & 'isms being accused constantly- then came racism against Whites with Affirmative Action which morphed into DEI. In the meantime liberals managed to extend civil rights meant for CITIZENS to ILLEGALS as well - so here we are - a shredded, divided nation with multimillions of unassimilated people all fighting over who gets what for "FREE!" as taxpayers get crushed under this burden. Welcome to the Communist State of America where if this is NOT turned around we'll all be nothing buy tax slaves to the FEDERAL & WORLD GOVERNMENT, with NO civil RIGHTS At all.
Pre-civil rights era BLACKS were successfully living on their own without any taxpayers funding their every need. Since then all the "free" AID, HELP & assistance has done is make them more dependent than ever & more ungrateful & demanding while they do nothing to improve their situations for themselves except BLAME historical slavery & some Democrat laws of segregation long since lifted. Crime rates are astronomical in comparison as well & they blame THAT on anyone except theur own culture. The likes of Thomas Sowell & before him Frederick Douglas explain this mentality very well. Democrats are quick to blame the other party & Whites for what their party actually did & they DO THAT every day in Congress & from Hollywood. The BBC indulges in this garbage too, race swapping history & pushing "multiculturalism is a strength!" as Europe becomes more& more unrecognizable. Same in America with open borders & nothing but leeches jumping the borders.
MLK - yeah - he has a lot of people fooled with that ONE good line about character didn't he?

The times of transAtlantic slavery were cruel to all the lower classes. White British people were sent as convicts across the world to Australia for stealing a loaf of bread because they were starving. Their enforced labour shaped the Australia we know today. Slaves were not kidnapped but bought from African kings who had enslaved other Africans. There is no shame in the western world from being the descendants of slavery, forcible transportation, indentured servitude,Jewish forced labour in death camps, etc. None of us these days know who our great grandparents were or how they lived or suffered and it is time to concentrate on the present and future and the abolition of modern day slavery which still exists in places like Nigeria. Meghan is a greatly privileged person travelling to ever greater wealth and status on a raft of false emotion.

I’m an Australian who is 40% Irish. The Irish were the first slaves into the new world and have been sold to the Barbary pirates of the Ottoman Empire by Elizabeth 1. So slavery is a worldwide and very CURRENT , even today, problem. I think this historical context should be put in context, and the British were at the forefront of stopping slavery. Who’s stopping current slavery is more the question that I feel is relevant.🇦🇺

@@joanramsey4002brief training? 🤣 She's been married to Charles for YEARS, and in love for years prior to that. Even during her first marriage she was present in royal life and was actually a good friend to Diana for a couple of years (and no I'm not getting sucked down that line of thinking except to say Diana was NOBODY'S FOOL!) Camilla has been Charles's rock since they fell in love in 1975 and although QE2 wanted the heir to marry a shy virgin, she later regretted not letting Charles marry the woman he loved. She's been with the family for YEARS in some capacity or other and done charity work since the beginning. She too is related to Charles as was Diana in a distant cousin kind of way. Her and Charles are great friends with Camilla's first husband and his wife to this day.
