    For NOOBS I'd recommend using the saw only in bastion (shield) mode unless at melee distances. Don't touch base building at all. Once you activate the refiners all hell will descend on it, so go in a fireteam. ANY class can operate a refinery but the operator class is best for it. Don't do it as a heavy. Extended mags for the heavy are a massive grind (Level 20) but worth it. You can die from fall damage but you can rappel down a cliff by directing your movement with wasd. The ease of any of this depends on your game level. One squad isn't man enough to do an infestation unless your squad is cohesive. The revive drone is on a timer (bottom right of your HUD).

      For noobs I'd tell you just to stick with the MK 1 Morita until you get the Carbine. It's by far the best gun on the Bastion with his ability negating it's spread and recoil and still doing the job the SAW does but better. Perks also give it more ammo reserves and more ammo in the mag to, again, do the same job but better.

      The SAW requires crouching, but I am not sure if noobs will be aware of that. Even if they do, I am not sure if they would even want to when the enemy is barreling down on them. So for noobs anyway, the starting Morita rifle is just fine until you get the Morita carbine. Then just switch to that.

      noobies can do building, just let experienced do regular walls , use small walls to box in the ARK after electric fence is up .

    The ammo perks, and the ammo economy in general, really needs a rework. If people don't come with the ammo resupplier then whenever a refinery spawns stupidly far from the base people run out of ammo either on the way to or the trip back with the canisters. The SAW gets it the worst with the least amount of ammo tied with the grenade launcher but being far less dangerous. 300 rounds go by real fast and both pistols aren't a good substitute to make up the difference.

      Yes, it is nearly a necessity to carry ammo dispensers, for myself and others to use. This is bad because it means I can't choose anything else for the utility slot, especially healing. By default, this sort of puts the Operator class as the current meta because they can overcome that limitation with their healing drone.
      As for perks, the 50% larger magazine is a nice one to have, as it gives you not just more ammo capacity, but less time spent overall on reloading, which also improves your DPS, as well as survivability since bugs can't hurt you if they are staggered or dead.
      Between these two, I find myself no longer starving for ammo.
      I don't like the SAW, and it needs a buff somehow. Because it's a stand still and fight weapon, and ideally used in bastion mode, which sadly does literally nothing for the most dangerous part of the game, which is making a run for the extraction at the end. Literally, many Bastions don't make it because of this. Operators can get a steady trickle of healing and even self-revive. Hunters can just run fast and fly out of there. What do bastions have when running for their lives? Superior stand and fight?
      At the very least, the bastion cooldown needs to be halved or less. I don't know. Whatever it is, Bastion is like the worst in meta. Even the SAW requires that you at least courch and aim in to mitigate the wobbling. Perhaps I'll change my mind in horde mode, but who knows?

      @@Pouncer_Fox The only reason I'd die running for extraction as Bastion is because everyone flees, leaving everyone else to die. Even squad mates. People are just too used to lone-wolf style gameplay when playing games.

      SAW without an ammo perk is insufferable but once you get the extra mag, ammo stops being a problem entirely

    @13:39 yeah it is how it works out. You get more ammo per magazine, and you carry around the same amount of magazines. So more ammo in total makes sense.

    Great video dude. Just one quick comment about building ammo dispensers inside a bunker. It would seem that when a bunker is destroyed, so are anything else that is built inside.
    I was in one game where that happened, and lost the ammo dispensers inside as well. Luckily, someone else also built their dispensers outside the bunker.
    Anyway, feel free to double check that, but if so, it might be better to build ammo dispensers outside, next to the bunker entrance instead.

      Yes. When I recorded the video the meta was to place ammo dispensers inside. But it is better to place them just outside of the bunker. I look forward to seeing how else the meta changes around building as the community gets more experienced!

    I remember watching the movie and I always wanted to play a game of Starship Troopers which I am so glad they did!! Doom Eternal should've done a co-op multiplayer.

    Quick note, as any class you can (spam) jump onto the front part of the wall and immediatly vault over the middle part, so you cou get out without deconstructing, its just not wide enough knowledge at this time.

      Don’t feel obligated, but I’d love more elaboration on base building in a future video because it sounds like there’s a lot more to say. Another thing to include would be the rundown of general behaviors of the bugs and their pathing. Class specific utilities/shared utilities would make for a good video as well. Thanks for adding to already sparse content regarding this game

      @@youlooklikeagoodjoe there is certainly a lot to say and as you can tell from my videos, I love to talk lmao.
      As for base building, sure thing. I’ve been intending on creating a base building guide but got sidetracked. It is difficult to pin point how exactly I will get footage for that video because going into lobbies and asking people to let me build the entire base is a tough sell, but I can try in lobbies with 15 discord players. Building tactics vary drastically based on the location you get but the overarching method should remain somewhat consistent. The video may just need to be more of a discussion in nature than a string of examples.
      As for bug behaviors and pathing, I can possibly throw this into another video, as I don’t feel I could make a video on this alone as I don’t have too much knowledge on any deep game design such as this.
      Class utility/overarching goals for each trooper class is a planned video. Probably after the base building video because I really want to help settle the disputes in base building that has Reddit by the balls.

      @@JakoMacro It’s nice to see examples of the most ideal base building setups but it’s also important to take into account the rule that the more abundant casual players on a team will prematurely build whatever comes to mind, and not the exception of rare instances where a team is communicative and heavily coordinated where the best strategies will manifest themselves and yield the best results.
      It’s my belief those Reddit disputes will always be unsatiated because there’s always gonna be noobs, that it’s better to focus on yourself and recurring friends in your squad than it is to try and micromanage a team or playerbase’s natural behavior of learning.
      But branching from that, the more information out there that grazes over base strategy will definitely influence competent players directly or indirectly so kudos to you for pumping your knowledge in these videos out. Looking forward to what more you have in store in the future

    Meta for base building: triple up walls. First wall walkway on the inside of base then build a wall right behind it with the walkway facing out.(makes a very small gap that can be run across without falling thru). Third wall will be a ramp. This is where ammo fabs should be placed on top of the wall(support/hunter perk) and place a ammo box(base build) at the entrance to the ramp.
    Your bonus-is the activated ability of support(i believe it revives everyone within 25 to 30 meters). The drone is the secondary where it can revive/heal up to 3 times until it goes back on coolddown.

      The bugs will basically try to path straight to the ARC reactor, and destroy anything that gets in the way.
      So, the optimal base is one where the ARC reactor is protected from all sides with turrets and bunkers nearby. If the turrets are built in the center of each bunker, I notice that they almost never get damaged while the bunker stands. Use that combination to protect the ARC reactor within turret range. Between them, you can place your ammo boxes.
      An optimal base does not need to be huge in size, especially if you are playing the mission where you have to mine your own limited ore. Plus, when you pool all your players closer in a smaller base, helping each other with especially with all the medic drones nearby, becomes much easier and survivable.
      Now, I'm not saying it needs to be super tight. However, there have been plenty of bases that have failed, because they were built far too big, where even when I wanted to go help, I had to cross a big distance to get there.
      Lastly, depending on where the ARC reactor is located, I noticed that it really helps to just build around existing structures as much as possible. This is obvious, but it's still important enough to mention, and it is the fact that existing structures in the map are invincible. They don't break, so if you already have some existing rooftop nearby, just use that instead of building towers, especially if you are working with a limited amount of ore.

    When you die, it resets utilities. Sometimes I just die to get back to defense faster when I was out in the boonies. One of the few little tricks I picked up from playing the past few days when I was desperate for ammo, didn't want to walk back to base, or got confused about where I should be. Just die.
    The jetpacks need to conserve more lateral momentum is one of my few complaints with the game.

      I refuse to even play it because of the sweat lords that don't realize that this isn't warzone but a simple arcade game that sadly can't be enjoyed without team build it all coming along and telling you how to play your game session. I've lately been busy with the new upcoming direct control RTS called Silica which I picked up on Steam and tbh it's way better than extermination.

    Any chance you can do one that's even more elementary? I just came from my first game and I was totally lost. I didn't understand at all what was going on, and was just trying(and failing) not to die.
    Maybe play a game from the start with commentary as to what and why you're doing things? Just offering a complete newbs viewpoint if you are interested in making stuff to help new players. I will be learning by playing myself, game looks really good even if it's a bit overwhelming at first. But later people might find it useful to help get into the game, I know I would have.

      To me, the Operator is undoubtedly the best class right now. It can do just about everything.
      This is an important tip in general for anyone reading, but do not run (yellow canister) gas. Once all the required gas is deposited, that triggers the last stand sequence, followed by extraction. The only way I have lost a game is when someone would deposit them too early, before the team is ready to defend themselves.
      Technically, you can run them and deposit all but the very last one. However, even then, there is always some helpful noob that would deposit it for you. So, whenever possible, I would discourage everyone to even run gas at all, until you are sure the base is done.
      Anyway, that is my rant disguised as a tip.

    Extended Mags does not increase ammo counts by simply increasing it. it is simply a math calculation and working as intended.
    Normally Rifle carry 60 rounds per mag and have 10 mags totaling 600 rounds.
    extended mags turn 60 rounds into 90 rounds so all 10 mags have 90 rounds totaling 900 rounds.
    if you use bandoliers again, you can have extra 2 mags (180 rounds) totaling 1080 rounds.
    this also works on rocket launcher as we can have 4 rockets instead of 3 rockets.
    SAW normally have 150 rounds and 2 mags totaling 300 rounds can turn into 225 rounds with 3 mags totaling 675 rounds. Not recommended as it is more useful to get melee armor to survive longer in siege mode both outside base and in horde stage. for gunner, just crouch behind your shield wall, mark it, and leave it to your sniper teammates. your SAW is not going to do much at long range.
    so you don't have to worry too much about running out of ammo with both actives.

      I’m aware of how it currently works. I only assume it’s not working as intended because the description of the perk says it increases magazine size by 50%, not ALL magazine es by 50%. That, coupled with the fact that bandolier adds extra mags but why would you need bandolier if you have extended mags as an option? It’s made almost completely obsolete which is poor game design. The final point is I’ve played dozens of fps games with extended magazine options for your gun. This is the ONLY game I’ve played where the extended magazine increase your weapons current loaded capacity and every magazine in your stockpile. In every other game, your total ammo remains the same, but concentrated now into a fewer number of magazines meaning you reload less. If OWI chose this route on purpose it’s not necessarily wrong, it’s just different than any other game design decision by any other studio. Take with that what you will.

      @@JakoMacro I can understand your point. however, considering the bullet spongeness of the bugs, I think it is not entirely poor design. especially in higher difficulty. at least until the weakpoint multiplier is properly set up because currently the weakpoint doesn't do much.
      if you're considering the weight of ammo into account, 10 60-rounds mags is already a lot to take considering that our current real-world rifleman normally carry 7 30-round mags. since we don't mind the weight and we can already take 10 mags, why reduced the mag count to 7-8 and keep the total rounds the same? might as well just keep taking 10 extended mags in the same 10 slots of normal mags (when we don't consider the shape of the mags and we can't see it in the character screen anyway.).
      honestly in my view, when we can clearly ignore other limitations such as weight, shapes, mobility, etc and carry 10 extended mags together, why must we reduce the mag counts just to fit other standard game design in the market?
      btw, even with both perks on, I can only go for max 2 tasks with hawkeye in Arc Slam Normal difficulty before having to resupply. and this is normal.

      @@amitakumaradasa6020 I think there’s a fine balance in ammo between incentivizing squad play and being self sufficient. The SAW definitely needs 3 mags baseline. Bandolier should give you two extra mags. That way if you play solo you can take both ammo perks and be okay to suppress bugs for an an entire cycle. If you play with friends you should be able to replace ammo perks with something more valuable. That’s how the system SHOULD be for every weapon. Currently, ammo perks are a little too valuable even when playing with friends. Base ammo should be increased by 1-2 mags for every gun imo

      @@JakoMacro ammo perks are kinda essential for long distance tasks that can appear. Both ores and even the gas can all appear above 400m that the perks are a must. if they can set the setting that at least one ore must be nearby and random ammo supplies on the fields, the perks will be less valuable. right now, it is the chance that all tasks will be far from base that make it too valuable to not have. and I also noticed that a lot of players have ammo fab as well that kinda show that ammo is too valuable.

    im also just found this one. Keep a look out for some suspicious player that keep deconstructing stuff. just met them my self and most of them play operator because they can revive them self after i kill them and try to stop their stupid behaviour.
    while team put effort in killing patrol transport ore he farming gas and force the hoard.. then deconstruct anything in the base start from a fence around arc.
    other people just busy killing buf this dude busy try to make mission fail. and sadly other operator keep reviving him.

    I have a tip for everyone....to hell with tips it's just a silly cheap arcade game that's inevitably going to die out so just do what I do, wait for everyone to hole up inside of the cluttered base that they'll inevitably build, pick Bastion and go far away from those fools build an ammo dump and play solo because sadly this game doesn't have private servers if only if only but alas we're stuck with braindead Call of duty players who couldn't be tactical to save their lives. This game is stupid and should be played accordingly there's no point in using squad based tactics on a silly title like this, to the creator of the video go take a laxative you really need one it's not that serious.

    A co2 flamethrower and co2 rounds would be badass. Like shoot them once with the round they slow hit them with a volley they freeze in place. Ive got so many ideas of what i want OWI to do if they only implemented 10 percent of them id be happy. Skies the limit with this one! Add incendiary rounds that incinerate (obviously)
    A heavy tank bug that can only be killed from the back or in chinks in its armor, armor piercing rounds, Suicide bugs that explode in acid and frenzies the warriors causing them to move faster/deal more damage. Pilotable turrets and mechs. Pulse/electric rounds that shock and bounce from one to another. Secondary modes of fire for most guns. Like the rockets can dumb fire or lock on and all 3 shoot. Grenade shotgun like in unreal tournament. Another class or 2. The brain bug im sure will get added. Hopper bugs, scorpion poisoner bugs. A grappling hook, dismemberment, shields and body armor, I could go on and on.
