I grew up in a photography world without either (without video, too, although what I’m saying applies to video as well as stills). In those days if you wanted photos that weren’t blurry, you had to learn some technique. Using a telephoto or macro lens almost always required a good tripod. Today when I am using a long (VR) lens (on a body with IBIS) to photograph a bird, it would never occur to me to try to hand hold it. I have a sturdy tripod with a Wimberley gimbal (I tried a Chinese knockoff gimbal and it didn’t work), and I’ve learned to use it to follow moving subjects. Smoothly. The VR and IBIS doesn’t jerk because the camera movements are smooth. Technology has come a long way, but it works best when combined with skill. "Stabilization is very jerky for slow motion street videography." - that's caused by over-compensation. It seems to default to something similar to the "Boost IS" mode of Lumix cameras. The latter produce exactly the same jerky movements. Fortunately, Boost IS can be disabled on Lumixes.
I want to see the R6 III whenever that is released. R6 II is a great camera for its price. No ibis wobble, more video features and better af is my wishlist, besides more lenses obviously hehe. Love my R6 but its showing its age.
Add deeper buffer, upgraded EVF and LCD - from the old R5 parts bin - perhaps the new LP(P) battery extending battery life and 4K 120. Be a great start.
okay mr know-it-all here but when you said that with the apsc a6700 you get an equivalent focal length of 166-830mm which is correct, but then you also multiplied the aperture with the crop factor which is not correct. when you add an optical teleconverter it will give a smaller effective aperture, e.g 9 instead of 6.3 with a 1.4x, which affects light gathering and toneh, but while the crop of a smaller sensor n and digital crop will effectively change the focal length, it will not change the toneh and light gathering. the reason you get less toneh on a crop sensor is that you have to back up to fit the same subject in the frame, you have to be further from the subject which makes the relative distance between the subject and the background smaller which means less toneh. however when you film wildlife you almost never fill the frame, especially with birds, so you won’t get any less subject separation with apsc. only in the rare cases where you are close enough to fit the entire bird on a full frame sensor so that with an apsc you have to step backwards or zoom out will you get less toneh separation
OK, I will get serious in the comments section of Camera Conspiracies channel (I apologize for my inappropriate behavior) but here we go - I do like buying different camera brands and models to compare. (A bit what Kasey is doing, but not so intensely). I'm convinced, that for video one should not buy Nikon, Olympus or Fuji. The brands that make best cameras for video are Panasonic, Sony and to some extend Canon. (Now, obviously, I do not talk about high-end cinema cameras here). These three brands (Nikon, Oly and Fuji) feel somehow "photography oriented" if that makes sense. Of course, one can record gorgeous video with pretty much any late model camera. The end result is entirely dependent on the skills and effort of the user, not that much on the camera used. That's not the point. My theory is, that with these brands, the way video is implemented - feature, ease of use etc. - feels like an afterthought. And just to add, that I say that as a proud owner of a Nikon system (Z6 II and 4 lenses), so if I was a brainless fanboy I would praise my own brand and choice.
Would love to see you cover how Fuji destroyed its autofocus in it's top of the line cams with its latest firmware... and refuses to acknowledge there is a problem. A dude named "edvard" on RUclips has some great videos about this issue.
Yea he has mentioned edvard before. He is entertaining but I got the point already and now he is on a new tangent about a sentence someone said, let’s make a whole video about my hurt feelings.
Would you ever consider renting gear?. I know it can be expensive on some of the stuff. I think the camera companies are afraid to send you their products to review as they want yes men reviewers and there are plenty of those on youtube.
T14 with an almost 1 inch sensor though. T11 is full frame and a prime lens. It would be way worse than my Nikon prime, but I don't think I need super high end wildlife gear.
Hi! They say that the perspective on 4/3 is different from full frame. Could you shoot a video on one of your 3D POP lenses, and then attach it to the m4/3 via a speed booster and set the same exposure for false color, will you see the difference in the video?
Remember that $10,000 was after the incredible Camera Canada discount and on top of that open box price on the lens. Probably like $20,000 normal people money
You need to get out more to do wildlife. I think that your focussing is off with the Nikon as well. The lens is much more capable. You need to sell the Nikon and go back to your beloved Canon until it lets you down again. And then maybe Sony again? It’s never ending!
I really don't see any magic in the Nikon. The best 2 cams you had for wildlife were the GH6 and the Canon R5. You resisted the ZV E-1. Don't resist the R5ii. But maybe it's not your cup of tea. And why not try the ZV E-1 for wildlife too?
For canon APS-C(even for fullframe) for wildlife.. you really should consider the "Sigma 150-600mm F5-6,3 DG OS HSM".. i know you sh!t on sigma alot and "nO 3d PoPp!!1".. But you really should at least check it out.
I think Nikon strikes an awesome balance of colour science and performance…to me it sits between Fujis Colours and Sonys performance…ive shot and tested all systems…Nikon has a nice lens lineup (28-400, 150-600)…also they have a natural rendering… BUT: having shot Canon with adapter before, since you love old Canon glass Canon makes a LOT of Sense…superb AF, superb video, good slomo, ok Dynamic range, very good old Lenses performance… But then you get the canon „look…“…man i got tired of that quick, after half a year i couldnt stand it anymore, it tries to beautify everithing but making it all look very unnatural…Nikon i can make look the same, but i cant make Canon look natural, always that silvery vaseline like smear over everything with too much edge sharpness… Just my opinion ofc… and in real world use the z6iii for example performed amazing tbh…was very pleased with EVERY shoot i did…limited dr in RAW when pushed is the only downside…the Photo files are awesome

I'd love to see you review the Canon C70. Considering how much you like the look of the C100, it would probably be amazing :)
P.S. It's on sale now ;)
It's a camera I would probably pounce on if I saw the right deal. I NEVER see deals on it lol. Cheapest I've seen is $5997 with tax new, and like $5300 used. Too high I think.
@@cameraconspiracies I see it's $5K USD new on BHphoto and $4,2K used there. But I'm guessing you'd have to pay import tax in Canada to buy it from the US?
@@yawningmarmot Yea $6431, more than brand new lol.
@@cameraconspiracies Woah, that's far out!
16:06 Getting Kasey angry is why we are all here, the video stuff…😴
Macro photography wedding rings are my niche AMA
No queations. Macro is easy
Good morning everyone! I hope you all enjoy this video as much as I surely will🙌🏽
It’s funny how smitten you were with that camera. Now…. It just shows that we as humans are NEVER happy
I started seeking out EF glass after picking up a cheap 5d III. If you keep talking about it you’ll drive the price up 😢
Go for it. I'm curious how it looks compared to c100 on aps-c.
"Stabilization is very jerky for slow motion street videography." - that's caused by over-compensation. It seems to default to something similar to the "Boost IS" mode of Lumix cameras. The latter produce exactly the same jerky movements. Fortunately, Boost IS can be disabled on Lumixes.
spider egg, amazing footage!
Kasey, what should I buy? I'll photograph anything. I don't care. I just want a camera and a lens. Moto G Power?
15:34 You looked like a Chernobyl firefighter.
I prefer the stabilization in sport mode for most things...seems to be less jerky...but yea, it's not Panasonic level.
i'd be interested in the canon 600 f11 comparison :)
For different colors I think you could try before switching systems calibrate your monitor. It would be cheaper although less fun.
Please get the r5ii
okay mr know-it-all here but when you said that with the apsc a6700 you get an equivalent focal length of 166-830mm which is correct, but then you also multiplied the aperture with the crop factor which is not correct. when you add an optical teleconverter it will give a smaller effective aperture, e.g 9 instead of 6.3 with a 1.4x, which affects light gathering and toneh, but while the crop of a smaller sensor n and digital crop will effectively change the focal length, it will not change the toneh and light gathering. the reason you get less toneh on a crop sensor is that you have to back up to fit the same subject in the frame, you have to be further from the subject which makes the relative distance between the subject and the background smaller which means less toneh. however when you film wildlife you almost never fill the frame, especially with birds, so you won’t get any less subject separation with apsc. only in the rare cases where you are close enough to fit the entire bird on a full frame sensor so that with an apsc you have to step backwards or zoom out will you get less toneh separation
For the equivalent scene, you have to multiply the aperture like I did.
you need to switch to sport ibis mode. it's made for video. you'll have less catch-up-jerks
And less stable static shots.
What is that finger speed rate in your intro? Is that a new chair? Have a great weekend....
7:17 that made me chuckle
Sometime we must go a long way out of our way to go a short distance.
I think there is an aftermarket accessory to add a mind-controlled robotic third arm for the Nikon. Fixed.
Yep fuj xt5 240 fps buddy needs the 100 - 400 / and or 150-600 f8 need light but toneh comes around just get low . And wait for that 500 prime
Funny how you called that spider a daddy long legs. We call crane flies - daddy long legs and as the name implies they're not a spider.
Of course we want to see you get the canon stuff to compare against the nikon stuff
Nicky boy has beautiful wildlife, what are we doing? I feel like we should enjoy what we have for now.
Makes sense to go to something else since Nikon has been the pinnacle of image quality on this channel.
I think the camera companies are afraid to send you their products to review as they want yes men reviewers and there are plenty of those on youtube.
honestly checking out the canon seems like a decent idea. Maybe it's better, who knows
Disgusting footage with a Toneh 10.4 to 14 but yet you are considering buying the RF 600mm F11
T14 with an almost 1 inch sensor though. T11 is full frame and a prime lens. It would be way worse than my Nikon prime, but I don't think I need super high end wildlife gear.
3x stacked 2x teleconverters solve all problems
Hi! They say that the perspective on 4/3 is different from full frame. Could you shoot a video on one of your 3D POP lenses, and then attach it to the m4/3 via a speed booster and set the same exposure for false color, will you see the difference in the video?
Funny thing is, when jump cut out of what the f… then shows us the cinema by leaving in bullsh!t
Good content
Remember that $10,000 was after the incredible Camera Canada discount and on top of that open box price on the lens.
Probably like $20,000 normal people money
It's Dirk Dwindlehammer. I don't know what that chickadee had. Whatever it was he was feasting.
Do you think you could still get your Sony a7s3 back
I wouldn't want it back.
But why would you want to be cheap when you could be exotic?
You could sell the left handed Nikon and buy a Sony 600mm f4 for even more money and slap it on the zv10 mkii.
You need to get out more to do wildlife. I think that your focussing is off with the Nikon as well. The lens is much more capable. You need to sell the Nikon and go back to your beloved Canon until it lets you down again. And then maybe Sony again? It’s never ending!
I hear it in your voice already, The cannon r5 mark ii is coming in your future.
canon yes.
He sounded like Mark Smith 😂
I really don't see any magic in the Nikon. The best 2 cams you had for wildlife were the GH6 and the Canon R5. You resisted the ZV E-1. Don't resist the R5ii. But maybe it's not your cup of tea. And why not try the ZV E-1 for wildlife too?
This video offended me greatly. I enjoy both drinking milk and lobster meat. I have been personally attacked.
For canon APS-C(even for fullframe) for wildlife.. you really should consider the "Sigma 150-600mm F5-6,3 DG OS HSM".. i know you sh!t on sigma alot and "nO 3d PoPp!!1"..
But you really should at least check it out.
Hey mate! Could you try a dx 16-50vr lens on z6iii in 4k120 creep motion?
If you work for Nat Geo, or rich with bitcoins, $10k is nuttin.
G'day.
15:40 lmao
I hope the R5ii is better than the Z6iii, for almost double the price... $4,200 Big American inflated doll hairs.
i saw comments with huge production flaws of R5II
@@FessoidI ordered two. One was DOA. Canon will iron out production issues. Stuff happens
I think Nikon strikes an awesome balance of colour science and performance…to me it sits between Fujis Colours and Sonys performance…ive shot and tested all systems…Nikon has a nice lens lineup (28-400, 150-600)…also they have a natural rendering…
BUT: having shot Canon with adapter before, since you love old Canon glass Canon makes a LOT of Sense…superb AF, superb video, good slomo, ok Dynamic range, very good old Lenses performance…
But then you get the canon „look…“…man i got tired of that quick, after half a year i couldnt stand it anymore, it tries to beautify everithing but making it all look very unnatural…Nikon i can make look the same, but i cant make Canon look natural, always that silvery vaseline like smear over everything with too much edge sharpness…
Just my opinion ofc… and in real world use the z6iii for example performed amazing tbh…was very pleased with EVERY shoot i did…limited dr in RAW when pushed is the only downside…the Photo files are awesome
