- In this video I speak on what I feel it is Leo players gotta start taking advantage of later on in their competitive journeys with the character and what kind of attacks fit the tekken 8 quota well… kind of. At all levels we can differentiate what is helping Leo perform and what is subjectively a good way of playing the character, lock in as I explain what I think about Leo currently, let me know what you think about the character and can we expect buffs or nerfs going forward

Even if Leo isn't really built for this fast paced ft2 game we have, I still firmly believe you are the strongest Leo pilot on the planet. I swear you can get top 8. You that type of player. Don't forget what you did at the end of T7.
I like madara's leo more, he won 3 tournaments already, sad that he cant attend major tournaments since he has a full time job..
I've been playing Leo for a minute now after playing other characters and he has to work so much harder to get the same reward. You basically have to launch and/or get to the wall. If they eat the lows and block the launches, most characters will just value you out of every match. And if you are on coliseum or yakushima, forget it. You are gonna need to do 180 damage in 10 damage pokes. However, when people don't know the matchup you can kill them in two combos and look like a god, so that's fun, but as soon as you are going past layer 1, Leo is easy to defend and you have to win so many more interactions. Really liking what you were saying about playing risky and mixing up timings, though. If anyone can do it it's you Ayo, looking forward to what you innovate!

I think about Leo in much the same way I think about Shaheen. Shaheen doesn't really have a whole lot of dominating attacks. He has above average Tools for almost every move type, but he still has to choose the right one for the situation. His only dominating Moves are the Heat, which makes sense. His Heat Smash from Standing is a huge move that doesn't Track at a distance, but is Homing up close and is a big Hitbox with good +Frames. He also possesses a Low Heat Smash from Stealth Step which is really powerful. When you're on and you're playing really good Tekken that day, Shaheen is truly an amazing character. But if you're not playing sharp and you're not getting your Sidesteps, or getting a read on your opponent's Timing, or you're not getting those Whiff Punishes, Shaheen is HARD to play. It's just DF1, Sidestep, Low, DF2, Hopkick, Slide Mixup, Running 2 every once in a while. Those are absolutely all the Tools you need to win, but it is DIFFICULT to beat good Players with that when you're not sharp.
It's why traditionally, when you see strong performances from Shaheen, it's near the end of the Set. You have to gather data first in order to start winning Interactions. You can't run people over with Slide because you have to find the time in Neutral where you're not just gonna get free'd up by a Mid. You're also not gonna run people over with DF1, DF2, or Hopkick. Oh no, Generic Tekken Tools, the horror 😱

Leo needs buffs honestly. He’s balanced but not enough.
That said, echoing a few things I am reading and was thinking as well:
You’re THE Leo goat. Madara etc are goats but of the new rise and grind. You’re THE guy that can take Leo to a top 8 tournament. You’re him. We wanna see you more at these events ! I’m sure Leo will get slightly buffed over time.

Would love to see a video going over your thought process when it comes to using which parry. Thats one of my biggest weaknesses i think at the moment. I never know when to use them so I just dont lol
Leo didn't get any changes in 1.04, but wasn't mentioned for 1.05 either so i don't know what they're doing with the character.

All of the reasons you mentioned are why we don't see Leo in tournaments. There's a few characters that seem to have that problem where there's no easy path to victory. No one wants to work that hard to get dubs. Big up the loyalists though of course

Can someone tell me where is the mixup on back 3,1. back 3,1 down (BOK) and back 3,1,2 (with lighting glare). since the oponent can just mash a 10 frame punish after the first two hits (b 3,1) because even if you use/extend the string by adding the 2 of lightning glare the openent even if he presses a button he will automaticaly block? sorry if i look dumb to ask this, but to be honnest the string is what looks dumb. there is no mix or mind game
