Like its the reason why I never watch Netflix Witcher when they did those changes to the characters on the show too. And now looking back at it now, I think I had made the right decision lol. I think the decisions to do that is disrespectful to the original source material and just peak laziness to represent other races. Make original content if you want to represent ethnicities. Don't force it onto original properties that people loved.

However, in Disney’s case, at least with their live action bootlegs, they try way too hard to create this progressive façade, rather than creating original, well-written content that does not rely on their IP, and is able to involve a diverse cast of different backgrounds that are not white. Blue Beetle & Barbie are excellent examples of how you can be catering to a more marginalized audience while having a well written story arc, cast and humor. The Snow White reboot wreaks of fake-corporate-ass progressive values that are only there because of market research. Disney does not care about feminism, diversity, or anything of that sense. If they did care, they would’ve made a strong film about Latino culture (whatever that means to Disney) on its OWN! Coco and Encanto are excellent examples of this that come to mind, but they’re animated. As a hardcore Disney fan, the challenge with these remakes is that you need to make changes to justify a remake at all, but if you change a lot, you lose the original audience. Cinderella in 2015 did this really well. Jungle Book in 2016 did too. But since then they have been reduced to shot by shot copies (Lion King/Pinocchio/etc) with more inclusive casting, which isn't inherently bad, but not a reason to watch a redundant remake. The fact these remakes exist at all is unfortunate; back when Snow White came out the studio actively resisted sequels and remakes
To defend Zegler, it has been Disney who has ultimately messed up. However, she has made a mistake by not promoting the product she was paid to help create. To be honest, I think Disney is doing this intentionally, to revert back to what made them successful. Basically, if they survive these debacles, they can return to their traditional approach and say "Don't call us racist because we tried to be woke and more diverse, and it didn't work. We almost went out of business. So now we're going back to what worked before."

First issue is the dwarves being typecasted little people, when in mythology, a lot of modern stories involved elements and races of beings, not little people because they were little. I liked Rachel Zegler in the West Side Story remake. Whatever person she is, I'm not sure we can really blame her for her comments. Just don’t watch the movie. Everyone including grown hairy men are getting upset over a Disney princess movie! Heck I never even watched the original, what makes you think I’ll entertain a modern retelling of a story I know next to nothing about?
She apparently doesn't understand that story telling isn't black and white. First issue is the dwarves being typecasted little people, when in mythology, a lot of modern stories involved elements and races of beings, not little people because they were little. Second snow white isn't a weak character, she helped the dwarves showing a caring heart, a characteristic of a leader, not because she is a typecasted maid.
People want to see my vies that move them,not bash them over the head with political statements and agendas. Good movies sell tickets, something original and tasteful, not live action remakes that no one wants to see with their family.

Whatever person she is, I'm not sure we can really blame her for her comments. Pretty much all live action Disney actors and directors are making these cringe comments, with which they basically feel they need to throw the original classics under the bus. I get the feeling they just stick to the script Disney is handing everyone for promoting the films.
