If you think about it, Giganto being in Supreme's arena lines up pretty well with the CGI trailers of Giganto being in a forest and the Leaks around 2020/2021 where the leakers described cutting through a thick fog in a forest/entering a forest you couldn't get through before to fight a giant tree sized titan. And Supreme could've possibly been in the middle of Kronos where Giganto is in the final release. So intriguing tbh.
It's certainly interesting how much it lines up with the early leaks. I really wish their current file archive format supported file dates like .ar back in Unleashed/Generations days as it would reveal so much more about the entire thing to just have file dates attached to these leftover files.
I really hope they're gonna add all these things down the line through future dlc. And that in about a year or so we can play the sonic frontiers that was intended to be.
I think about these points: - Nothing changed about Ares Island. - Giganto could be in used Supreme area in Southern Kronos. - Knight could be in used Giganto area in Central Kronos. (I didn’t assume a scenario about how could Sonic move from Ares back to Kronos to fight him) - Rhea Towers mission, Sage story, Supreme boss and The End pre-boss cutscene could be in chaos Island (because it’s supposed to be the final island) - Tails and Amy Stories could both take place in Kronos. (because in the opening they lost in the same portal, then eventually Sonic and Amy landed in Kronos so maybe Tails and The Tornado landed there too, and we saw in the ending that The Tornado took off from Kronos as well)
The fact that giganto is in forest and in corner area of kronos island makes me think that it was supposed to be there and the first cg trailer showing this titan in sonic's eye reflection makes sense. Finally, first cg teaser trailer links to this old version of island in game.
It could be possible that Giganto was programed there to give Marza some references for marketing, but they forgot to scrub the code when all pre production was recorded
So some things I noticed... -All the Cyberspace levels are the Ouranos ones, and with most of those ones being wholly original it's likely they were created first and foremost, and then due to time constraints they were forced to reuse old levels. It might also be part of why the final Kronos levels were some of the hardest in the game (1-2), as they were designed with the final island in mind (except maybe 1-1). -The 4-2 portal is in the same spot as the intro cutscene with Eggman, indicating that this map was used for that (albeit prerendered). -The Chaos Emeralds and Portals are almost all in the Rhea and Kronos sections, indicating that the final Kronos was way less prominent at first. -Giganto was very likely intended to be fought in the forest area, but due to the split it was placed back in the valley where it is in the final game. This might also be part of why Supreme is little more than an EX version of Giganto. This also lines up with the leaks that claimed the titan was a giant tree in a once-blocked-off forest, which DOES happen in the final game for Supreme, kinda. -Tails appearing either acted as a placeholder for Amy/Sage/Whoever-the-fuck-was-supposed-to-go-there, or he was going to appear on Kronos instead of Amy and Sage entirely. -Spider boss, spider boss, does whatever a spider does. Throws you up, to the sky, once your down you're thrown back up high, BING BONG, here comes the spider boss.
So what I am getting from this is that the Kronos archipielago was meant to appear together, and you would have fought Giganto in the space of Supreme. The stages made for thr cyberspace portals were moved to Ouranos as they, in the final game, intend for the player to get used to the easier ones first, meaning that the original plan was to have them explore the massive island and become proffessional enough to tackle the 4-X levels directly. (And having that idea be scrapped due to time contrains and 3 sets of levels missing). Also it explains why Amy is the one to be released first: Tails would have been released based on the previous chronology, with Ames being kept for Ares and Knuckles for Chaos Island (which has a military purpose, mind you) but once they changed the chronollogy and put CD before 2 then they changed it to make it so you liberate Amy first.
You also have to remember all the CGI and promotional material gets done well before a game's release. The split probably happened about a year/year and a half ago or so but was already too late to change up the animations for the promos with how late in developments those were. But depending on how you look at it even a year ago is pretty late in development.
I think they started with three islands, then later they decided five because of the name. Sadly they realized that there wasn't enough development time, so they split the Northern halves of the full og Kronos into Rhea and Ouranos. That's why so many unused enemy variants and why a lot of extra details go unused. It sucks that something super important like the islands themselves suffered due to a lack of care from higher-ups in SEGA
As much unused stuff as there is in this game, I have to say it is impressive to me that Frontiers released as it is considering its circumstances. 60 people making a AAA open world game with possibly low budget and higher ups breathing down their necks constantly. It's honestly amazing that the game is as good as it is (in my opinion) despite all the corners that needed to be cut.
its kinda crazy how much of these early leftovers line up with leaks before the game was initially fully shown off, and even gives some insight on some weird things in the final game
@@DeaThProj_HUN another thing to note is that the room shows that symbol that has been teased so much before release but is never brought up in the story (and rarely seen in game)
Amy's running animation looked so normal here in the cutscene. In the sense that in the final game, it looks like she's floating like 20cm above the ground in it.
Interestingly enough, the CGI footage of Sonic battling a Spider guardian took place in a grassy area if I'm remembering correctly... We would've fought spider WAY earlier then huh
Yup, it's in the Launch Trailer, so I can only guess that piece was done before the split was even considered, who knows really. What's interesting that in the concept art Spider also has variants, like Tower but none of them are used in-game ever.
@@DeaThProj_HUN That's true! Is there any chance they have the variants in game form, like scrapped data or something? I was wondering if those enemies could be restored or anything... tho obviously they can't be restored if they were just concept art
@@pufflord_gamesonicsoloesyo2365 It seems to have different attack patterns that are not used at all, however it doesn't have models for the variants depicted in the concept art from what I know.
@@DeaThProj_HUN Honestly, I'm hoping that in the future, the golden enemies will be used for some kind of future DLC expansion or a new difficulty mode in an update. There were even different variants of the Eagle enemy from Chaos Island in the concept art, meaning we could have seen it earlier. The golden Spider also looked interesting.
@@DeaThProj_HUN Ah, if people could manage to bring this idea to life and recreate those variants with what's still left over, that would be quite awesome. Regardless, it's pretty cool to know that they planned to have different patterns for the golden variants. Thanks for responding, and looking forward to more discoveries! Good luck with all that
@@crackasaurus_rox9740 There are objects in the Rhea portion of the island that wouldn't be there if they hadn't intended for it to be a full-fledged playable area.
something nobodys pointed out yet, but you actually COLLECT all the chaos elmeralds here, where in the final game some are given through minigames. makes me wonder if the other islands wouldve had something similar, but were cut out for whatever reason. also explains why getting a few chaos emeralds feels random at times.
18:21 Tails being in this spot makes sense. I think he would give a SOS Quest here that would use those climbable walls. In the final game that spot is completely empty and unused.
It sucks that Sonic Team has so many creative ideas that go unused due to time constraints. However it’s possible that all the cut footage could be reused in the future updates
fascinating, really makes what yea wonder what more they could've done if given more time, and I take it, the Spider doesn't have access to a Free Fall Event essentially locking Sonic into a loop
Remember how the leak from a playtester said the first boss was a gigant tree in the middle of a forest? Well, Giganto looks nothing like a tree but this gives credence to that leak.
Been thinking that ever since discovering this object data. It's also very easy to imagine a thick fog covering that area, which was mentioned in the leaks too...
@@DeaThProj_HUN you can actually see fog load in at 43:06, right before the perspective change it wasn't visible, maybe this fog is supposed to be loaded in at all times but due to a scripting error it isn't?
Imagine if somebody moded this entire map as a functionl area with puzzles, amy interactions in different places and working sonic quips, Also a theory: What if supreme was always intended and after finishing chaos island you have these pillars just like in the base game on rhea island but you're just back on kronos with the pillars appeared and later after the ,,my friends are my power" scene you would fight supreme where giganto is in the base game, it would make sense having this large arena and not having a boss there, while giganto was chilling in the forest. But hey it's just a theory....
It's obvious that Supreme was a modified Giganto due to needing to rushing the game. Also this might explain why some of the early Kronos stages have such difficult S Rank. Maybe they weren't originally meant to be early stages? Also fighting a giant tree like boss in the middle of a Forest those sound a lot like Giganto in this...
There's also the fact that most of the Ouranos levels are original, instead of copied layouts (bar Metal Harbor from SA2 and CPZ Act 1 from Gens), which, you would think would be at the forefront of the game not at the backend of it. There's a lot of weird things surrounding it all.
@@DeaThProj_HUN Yep. In fact I bet that originally they were going to do original stages but had to reuse old layouts due to time crunch. I imagined more of the Cyber City was going to be use as opposed to reused Generations assets.
@@DeaThProj_HUN If you think about it, Ouranos is the only island with 9 CyberStages, so only 2 of them being reused and 7 new, really adds to your theory. Makes it seem like the last 2 levels there were made later, so reused designs due to time crunch, and only made to bring the level total to 30.
this is NOT a follow up to the stuff shown in the previous cut content video, this is an entirely different object data in the files, cheers. This video dives deep into a different version of Early Kronos that I've shown off in the previous video. That version is named "w1r02" in the files, while this is "w1r01". The difference between the two is purely in object data, as visible in this video, it more-so resembles Ouranos' layout than anything. The w1r01 naming scheme lines up with how Ares and Chaos are named in the files (w2r01 and w3r01), however if this is the "real" early kronos or not remains to be seen. was there anything left in the gedit that was removed from the final? im obsessed with looking for stuff like that now bc of the stuff ive found in forces test gedits
also w9d01 was likely speed highway modern since theres a cut helicopter object and since is for the highway stages and all the reused highway stages are city themed i think it has enough supporting evidence to be considered
We don't really have a way to visualize stuff outside of game just yet, but I know that some Tails objects are still not visible here because they would be tied to scripts, which we don't have. Once we can edit these sets properly all those could be uncovered too.
@@TheDuckDealer It is likely, but I did not mention as such here, for the reason that it's just an assumption. There's only this portal, and a sound effect relating back to "w9d01", of which the latter got recycled for 4-2.
I am really curious about how late in development this split actually happened. Because in the reveal trailer, you can see the Ouranos Pyramid thing in the background. Which is gone by the IGN First reveal which happened 6 months later. But the story trailer STILL showed Giganto in the Forest on Ouranos! I feel like this game's development has a really upsetting story behind it.
I noticed that Giganto seemed to be walking through the forest rather than standing idly in the actual game, was the battle AI already loaded(I assume that's how it works) or is it something different? I feel like that may add credibility to the idea that this was the intended arena cause the walking is actually working here(Or maybe I'm jumping too far, I don't know the first thing about game development 💀)
Nah, you are right, that is the battle variant already, there, as opposed to a doll (literally called that in the files) that's used in the final version of Kronos.
@@DeaThProj_HUN Ohhh I see, that's interesting then; and thanks for posting this, love the work being done cause all this is super interesting to me so big thanks for showing it off!
There's actually tutorial-esque dialog in Rhea telling you how to use the hermit and elder koco. So maybe Giganto was originally intended to throw Sonic to that portion of the island considering that the vaults in the original Kronos are on the Ouranos side. Also, the cutscene that plays after beating Knight has Sonic flying upwards rather than horizontally to another island. Perhaps the End was supposed to be fought after beating Knight since Chaos was intended as the last island. But due to a shortage of time/manpower/budget the final boss had to reuse assets from Giganto and the shooting minigames. Additionally, in Ouranos, the cutscene with Sage on the temple implies that Supreme was intended to be visible before the fight. Even in the cutscene leading into the fight, Eggman says to "go beat that giant" despite it not even appearing until after that cutscene ends. Perhaps the scripting for Giganto not appearing in the forest until six emeralds are collected in og Kronos still applies to Supreme. If you use hedgehog space program to reach Giganto's arena early in the final game, the Giganto that's rendered cannot be climbed. Instead you have to find a debug trigger to make the climbable Giganto load in. In normal gameplay, the first is removed and the second is loaded during the cutscene. The same logic doesn't apply to Wyvern or Knight, since the former doesn't require a cutscene to start the climb and the latter isn't even loaded until the pinball minigame is completed.
Interesting, apparently early Kronos (Kronos, Rhea and Ouranos) doesn't have any puzzles, emeralds, cyberspace levels (except for the first one, which instead it's a cut one) and even enemies (except of the ones from the tutorial). Meanwhile the Rhea and Ouranos part of the island are the ones with actual content (like, this early version of Rhea has even more content than this early version of Kronos, compared to retail in which Rhea doesn't have any type of content apart from the towers). So, your statement makes a lot of sense. The player will start on Kronos to do the regular tutorial, but once you face Giganto, he will throw you to the other side of the map, making the player actually start his journey on Rhea, and then facing Giganto on Ouranos. So, in resume: Early Kronos: Kronos = Tutorial Rhea and Ouranos = Actual playable part of the island
There’s something unsettling about all this when the map doesn’t reveal itself. It’s as if you’re somewhere you aren’t quite meant to be. There’s also something comical about having the Spider Guardian constantly launch you into the air while it’s banger theme plays. It’s also interesting to think that Tails WAS initially planned to be in Kronos rather than Amy. Makes you think what that jungly area featured would’ve or could’ve been had Sonic Team had more time to work on the game.
3:19 I think how it original was going be like u were supposed to see all lv1 enemies and a noticeable amount of lv2 and maybe a few lv3 enemies and it will go up when the player goes to the next island + i wish this(22:31) was still a thing
I wonder, if, given more time, how Sonic Team would have handled things out. I can see the Kronos-Rhea-Ouranos split happen because of separate reasons. One being that, yes, the original Idea for Kronos was very big and would have caused some burnout to players, of just running in empty green forests. Specially here where there's some early stuff and everything looks emptier. Not to mention that everything combines makes for one of the biggest islands? I think this is bigger than Ares and Chaos. The other being that they were supposed to make original Kronos more interesting, but due to time constraints due to the higher ups, plan b was to split Kronos into Kronos-Rhea-Ouranos. The oddest part is Rhea being part of Kronos in the final game, but I guess it would have been harder to split them up considering how connected they are, what with "Giganto's Arena" being a crater. Sonic Team sadly needs more devs. Either that or Sega needs to stop rushing them. The final product still being a 7/10 in the general audience's eyes is still something to be said about this game, but it could have been way more. Oh well.
I think it was the first one, bc based on the leaks the original idea was to make a fully open world sonic game, and seeing how this early kronos is, it doesnt seem like there would be much going on in these islands other than some enemie encounters and some platforming sections, so im glad they went with the open zone direction
@@Banana807 I agree but they definitely should have had it 4 islands instead of 5 cause it was misleading considering rhea is one and done in my opinion and just part of Kronos still, ouranos I can forgive it
I wonder what else is tucked away in the depth of the game ? It would be very interesting to see people mod the game to what the sonic team initially intended.
Considering the mystery regarding all that has been left over no one will mod the game to what Sonic Team intended this to be because no one will know.
Am I the only one who still cant wrap my head around the geometry of early Kronos? I need a birds-eye view of everything to understand where each location is.
Giganto being in the area where you fight Supreme in the final version of the game is a little unsettling to me. Like in the final release, the titans are all out of reach until the “divine intervention.” Giganto in the final version is over a cliff that Sonic can’t physically climb, Wyvern is unreachable because he is literally in the sky, Knight is hidden in a smoke cloud, and Supreme just shows up out of nowhere with his area being blocked off for pretty much no reason. But Giganto being in a place where we can just go over to whenever we feel like it is a bit disturbing to me. I mean, it’s established that Sonic can not fight these things without the emeralds, so the first big boss being in a place without any physical barriers to stop the fight from happening prematurely, I don’t know. It just gives off a bit of a vibe of uneasiness. It also just gives me a bit of a spooky vibe that Giganto is essentially waiting for you. It’s probably just me. Great video!
According to very early leaks and some illegal footage of a very early version of the game (probably the same version mentioned by said leaks). We can see that the forest in which Giganto (now Supreme) was located, was blocked by a big smoke cloud, just like the one blocking the fight against Knight. So we can guess that just like the final game, some sort of puzzle was going to be required to remove the smoke cloud to fight Giganto.
I can't imagine only this being part of the first area of the game, maybe the split and don't having enough time was for the best, I wonder if it would have hurt the pacing and if we would get bored af from the green plains for hours
It certainly isn't a complete look at the first area, however, without having dates on files, and with how barren it is, this could go way back, and be just an early draft for the first area.
The missions don't drop seeds or spawn ancient rails after you complete them. Also, there's no floating platforms. This early version of Kronos is more representative of what all beta testers played, according to many Sonic Rangers leaks from 4chan.
In the final game one thing I didn’t get is that in rhea island, we see Tails in the beginning cutscene before we take out the towers but we never got to talk to him. What was the point of putting him in that cutscene if we never see him again until Sonic’s corruption takes over him?
Never heard of a tree titan, interesting that. Also yeah I thought that there was something more for the end, boss. I have a thought that maybe originally The End fight was a little bit like the unleashed Dark Gaia fight in space.
@@juiceDpunk983 there's also the fact that it says "TITANS" in plural, wich suggests that the original plan was using all 4 titans plus super sonic to beat the end
@@7sunox yeah and also how in the game itself before the space invaders mini game boss, it sounds like Sonic is talking to them all, not just Supreme/Sage.
Has anyone noticed the soundtrack has 4 discs with different themes (grass, desert, volcano, and ice). The ice might have been related to the 4th island. It could also be a coincidence 🤷♂️
The soundtrack has what ? It just came out a few days ago, and it has 6 discs. Where did the ice part come from ? The mini-ost from the collectors edition ?

Looking at this map and seeing Kronos, Rhea and Ouranos Island as one big map makes me wish the maps were all merged together. But I very much get why this decision was made.
I think Giganto would've been a great final boss if they trailers didn't spoil him. My little idea for supreme would be all the titans formed together hence the name SUPREME.
I have no proof of this, but maybe since there wasn't time to make a 4th original titan, there would be a story arc centered on how he's a combination of the first 3 titans instead (Gigantos model, Wyverns wings and Knights battle formation but wields a gun instead hence the name "Supreme" but ran out of time anyways because theres no introduction and once you get the last chaos emerald he just shows up out of nowhere.
I managed to get this working and I have to admit it was interesting to see, but I'm totally waiting on a mod to finish this cause it'd be cool to get this working as intended
@@mateusineo8755 I found something known as hedgehog pac editor online. (It might crash when you go into certain islands tho, only got it working on Rhea).
do you know if there's any data containing giganto's model size? i've had a theory for a while about the 4chan leak calling giganto a tree which made me think he was supposed to be a lot bigger in earlier builds. it would have been harder to make out his body type if that were the case. also it might be a perspectives thing but he looked bigger in the initial trailer where he tries to stomp on sonic.
w9d01 would have used the street cyberspace theme. If you try to check on the music files for cyberspace you'll notice that they're named a certain way depending on the stage theme they're used for. w6 - Green Hill w7 - Chemical Plant w8 - Sky Sanctuary w9 - Eternal Highway (aka the street theme). @@DeaThProj_HUN There has been some leaked cut dialogue of Sonic and Sage exploring an Ancient ship... I'm wondering if that structure is meant to be a placeholder for the ship.
@@JaniacTheHedgehog Considering that dialogue is ID'd for world 4, which has been completely cut, and what hasn't been cut for it has been recycled for Rhea and Ouranos in the final game I hardly doubt. They also mention ruins of said ships which you would be hard pressed to find in the sky.
I’m honestly so confused as to why they cut so much content out of this game. I understand it was due to timing but they could’ve at least kept a few of these assets such as the different towers in the final product.
Tbh seeing this now makes me understand as to why the playtesters found the game boring, most likely this early kronos would have platforming sections and stuff but playing it like this makes you get bored in about 20 or 30 minutes
Or maybe not, bc based from the leaks it seems sonic team did originally wanted to make a fully open world sonic game, and i guess it was cut bc it would leave alot of space for some parts
Could be the case? But then again it was still a complaint how island 4 and 5 looked liked Kronos so? Either way, something definitely happened in development
This is super interesting. The fact Rhea island has stages from Ouranos island got me thinking Rhea and Ouranos was combined after they made the decision to split up Kronos island, which obviously the lead into the combined Rhea and Ouranos to be split too. I’m definitely overthinking this but I love unused stuff like this because it gets me thinking on what was the original plan for this part of the game.
Super interesting stuff on display here! Also, do you think any info can be gained from the IGN trailers? like can you tell if they were still using this "full" version of Kronos by that time, or had it already been scrapped. Keep in mind, the footage was confirmed to have been recorded in May 2022.
We have seen that by the time IGN First rolled around, the map was already split, as in no footage can you see the Pyramid's top, just like in the final game from Kronos. They've shown off combined Kronos back at TGA 2021, so with giving some recording time for that footage the split probably happened between November 2021 and May 2022. Very late in development...
This is really sad to see a wasted potential which game had in beta version... Imagine if we had at least 3 giant islands like Beta - Kronos. And a mission where Sonic went on a spaceship. And better The End boss fight. Much more soldiers and Guardians. Please i beg you Sega, give Sonic Team more money and time.
If Giganto was originally suppose to be in Ouranos, where was Supreme gonna be? It could’ve been in Rhea Island but if the unused Ancient Ark voice clips have anything to say, it could’ve been in space?
My theory is that they wanted to make another special island for the end, but due to some development issue they didn't make it, so that surely explains why they divided the island and saved the last portion of it for Supreme
The tutorial saying that enemies can shield up is likely a leftover from this set of enemies being used here. The purple ones here only appear in Ares in the final game.
we should have got all of the other 6 years that worked on forces will be worked on frontiers instead and forces wouldn't exist, if that happened sonic team would be worked almost 11-12 years on the game, and that would have made the game better than elden ring ever was lmao, I just hope the sonic team got enough time for these animations at least.
The cutscenes are at 60 fps. On pc I can only get 30. Also, they figured out no one would want to do Sonic stuff in the forest, so they added the pads to get folks out of those areas faster. Smart.
@@DeaThProj_HUN Well I was scrolling trough comments and found this dialog with Sage about ships. Maybe the final area was in space and then the end would be the moon from the beginning
I think you would leave Kronos (which would have the form of Ouranus) and after leaving Chaos Island, go back there where you would release the second part somehow, and that would be Rhea and Uranos (with the form of Kronos) together
Collision is bugged, presumably values such as grass have changed since this was made by Sonic Team so now it corresponds to something else and does this. Will have to be looked into.
Thats something interesting i've been thinking myself too... Kronos splited have 7 Ournaos have 9... So honestly i thing the original idea was to have like 20 stages in total... Its not demostrated (i think. Didnt see the full video still) but i theorized the actual stages got really compresed in the game... We have like 4 cyberspace levels next to each other really close in final build... I think about 1-3 and 1-4 in the rhea area + 3 more levels so yeah... 20 levels is my theory
The final split does Kronos - 7 Ares - 7 Chaos - 7 Ouranos - 9 Totalling out to 30 Cyber Space levels. There's the unused w9d01, which would have been an extra highway level. So 31 total. How the split would have looked like is hard to call, but this version has 10 portals in total.
@ĐeäTh okay defintly thats have more weight just because its an actual old version of the map So this just means the original concepr on the game was having 3 islands with 10 levels each one... (Or well.. Maybe 2 of this 9 portals are the big's fishing spots? So then there could still be 7 levels) Is strange to think about 2 different fishing spots on the same island haha All this splited island thing is always so interesting to think about haha i really want to see how the in game 2D map would looked with all the portals and chaos emeralds structures there and guardians locations etc...
@@vitexus6907 We know for certain that the game was meant to have 4 islands at first, because there's a commented entry for "w4r01" in the lua files of the game. Also pretty much everything ID'd for World 4 got recycled into Rhea and Ouranos or got entirely cut from the game.
Are we still missing object data? No rails or springs at all were going to be in the game? This split was the right call. First island would have been larger than Ares and Chaos Island combined. Not saying I love the final act of the game, but the first two acts are much stronger because of this split.
This specific version is not missing any object data but its different from the one I showed the other day (they use the same terrain but thats it). The other can still not be fully converted and I'll still be making a follow up to that when we can do it.
The collision of the map is buggy at the moment and I'm also taking it slow because it's meant to be a showcase. With the enemies I did indeed fuck up majorly tho lmao

Why does sega always fuck shit up I’m sure the potential on this game would have been even crazier with more team members and no time constraint. Im glad at the current set of writers they did a great job and sega should keep their corporate mouths shut and let the CURRENT writers develop a good AAA game without their interference. Pontac and dickbreath not being a part of this made the game 100x better
They really need to let the team cook. the game turned out great but still needed more time to let these great ideas come to life on average it takes the user around an hour to beat every island imagine how long and more fun it'll be to beat these! but nope instead sega decided they wanted that holiday money and forced the team to split the islands giving us an uncompleted ending, 2 different kronos islands and some pretty janky physics. SEGA just be L'ing all the damn time i feel so fucking bad for sonic team. If sega truley cared about the only brand giving them the most revenue they NEED TO GIVE THE DEVS MORE TIME!
@@mitch4672 👀 hou guessed it right
I think about these points:
- Nothing changed about Ares Island.
- Giganto could be in used Supreme area in Southern Kronos.
- Knight could be in used Giganto area in Central Kronos.
(I didn’t assume a scenario about how could Sonic move from Ares back to Kronos to fight him)
- Rhea Towers mission, Sage story, Supreme boss and The End pre-boss cutscene could be in chaos Island
(because it’s supposed to be the final island)
- Tails and Amy Stories could both take place in Kronos.
(because in the opening they lost in the same portal, then eventually Sonic and Amy landed in Kronos so maybe Tails and The Tornado landed there too, and we saw in the ending that The Tornado took off from Kronos as well)
Lol the leaked 2021 build has just confirmed this so you were on the money
The fact that giganto is in forest and in corner area of kronos island makes me think that it was supposed to be there and the first cg trailer showing this titan in sonic's eye reflection makes sense. Finally, first cg teaser trailer links to this old version of island in game.
It could be possible that Giganto was programed there to give Marza some references for marketing, but they forgot to scrub the code when all pre production was recorded
@@LoliconSamalik My question is why was he purple in the first trailer or is that a scrapped titan?
@@valtheemokid4005 That purple is maybe to indicate "The End" is in the titan. Like you can see that purple fog on Supreme titan in fight.
@@texel7645 I’ve watched the trailer many times and I can’t make out Giganto
considering that Giganto is in the forest, I think that was his earlier design that got into trailers
I think they swapped 1-2 with another level, maybe to play off Apotos 1 and 2 going back-to-back
So what I am getting from this is that the Kronos archipielago was meant to appear together, and you would have fought Giganto in the space of Supreme.
In the launch trailer, I think, it had the spider guardian in the Kronos area instead of Chaos. The split really does seem to be a very late decision.
Yup, Launch Trailer has CGI with Spider in Kronos. Spider also has concept art for its variants that are nowhere to be seen.
You also have to remember all the CGI and promotional material gets done well before a game's release. The split probably happened about a year/year and a half ago or so but was already too late to change up the animations for the promos with how late in developments those were. But depending on how you look at it even a year ago is pretty late in development.
It would have happened when they realized making an additional 2 islands weren’t possible
@Texel76 it started off as 3 islands

@@DeaThProj_HUN Ah, if people could manage to bring this idea to life and recreate those variants with what's still left over, that would be quite awesome. No, Rhea was never an island. It is just the other 2/3 of chronos that you can't access in the final game. Just look at the maps.

something nobodys pointed out yet, but you actually COLLECT all the chaos elmeralds here, where in the final game some are given through minigames. makes me wonder if the other islands wouldve had something similar, but were cut out for whatever reason. also explains why getting a few chaos emeralds feels random at times.
Well, you collect all the emeralds in the final game's Ouranos too, instead of minigames.
@@DeaThProj_HUN except for the last one. Eggman just gives it to you.
More than likely the case with Spider yeah, haven't really investigated the objects themselves though.
It's so cool that we are exploring "the past" in-game and in game files
Remember how the leak from a playtester said the first boss was a gigant tree in the middle of a forest? Well, Giganto looks nothing like a tree but this gives credence to that leak.
Been thinking that ever since discovering this object data. It's also very easy to imagine a thick fog covering that area, which was mentioned in the leaks too...
Well, I'm pretty sure that playtester must own a PC and be 25 years old
@@DeaThProj_HUN you can actually see fog load in at 43:06, right before the perspective change it wasn't visible, maybe this fog is supposed to be loaded in at all times but due to a scripting error it isn't?
Shit, now I want a tree titan bossfight, I wonder how that would play out
Giganto looks better in the final game
Imagine if somebody moded this entire map as a functionl area with puzzles, amy interactions in different places and working sonic quips,
Also a theory:
What if supreme was always intended and after finishing chaos island you have these pillars just like in the base game on rhea island but you're just back on kronos with the pillars appeared and later after the ,,my friends are my power" scene you would fight supreme where giganto is in the base game, it would make sense having this large arena and not having a boss there, while giganto was chilling in the forest.

I'm sure the CGI for that Giganto scene was already being made by the time the split decision was made
I noticed that Giganto seemed to be walking through the forest rather than standing idly in the actual game, was the battle AI already loaded(I assume that's how it works) or is it something different? I feel like that may add credibility to the idea that this was the intended arena cause the walking is actually working here(Or maybe I'm jumping too far, I don't know the first thing about game development 💀)
Nah, you are right, that is the battle variant already, there, as opposed to a doll (literally called that in the files) that's used in the final version of Kronos.
@@DeaThProj_HUN Ohhh I see, that's interesting then; and thanks for posting this, love the work being done cause all this is super interesting to me so big thanks for showing it off!
I like how all of the islands were going to be together to be a huuuge island
Giganto being in the forest lines up with the leak talking about his "final boss" being in a forest you couldn't access before
Giganto being a final boss doesn’t make sense
I think they just meant he’s the final boss of the first island
Jeez, even though this is unfinished, The complete island looks amazing.
13:10 this was most likely gonna be the base full black variant of the spider that got scrapped
So, in resume:
Early Kronos:
Kronos = Tutorial
Rhea and Ouranos = Actual playable part of the island
There’s something unsettling about all this when the map doesn’t reveal itself. It’s as if you’re somewhere you aren’t quite meant to be.
There’s also something comical about having the Spider Guardian constantly launch you into the air while it’s banger theme plays.
It’s also interesting to think that Tails WAS initially planned to be in Kronos rather than Amy. Makes you think what that jungly area featured would’ve or could’ve been had Sonic Team had more time to work on the game.
3:19 I think how it original was going be like u were supposed to see all lv1 enemies and a noticeable amount of lv2 and maybe a few lv3 enemies and it will go up when the player goes to the next island
+ i wish this(22:31) was still a thing

34:05 someone compare the leaked 2021 trailer to this screenshot. Please!
34:04 This part looks much more like the video leaked a few months ago
Yeah, just missing the fog and spaceship that was cut
I can't imagine only this being part of the first area of the game, maybe the split and don't having enough time was for the best, I wonder if it would have hurt the pacing and if we would get bored af from the green plains for hours
It certainly isn't a complete look at the first area, however, without having dates on files, and with how barren it is, this could go way back, and be just an early draft for the first area.
36:57 The foggy forest, colossus fight...
I really wonder how it was for the testers to play that part
The missions don't drop seeds or spawn ancient rails after you complete them. Also, there's no floating platforms. This early version of Kronos is more representative of what all beta testers played, according to many Sonic Rangers leaks from 4chan.
I really wish kronos wasn’t split as I love the way the giganto fight cutscenes look compared to the final location
In the final game one thing I didn’t get is that in rhea island, we see Tails in the beginning cutscene before we take out the towers but we never got to talk to him. What was the point of putting him in that cutscene if we never see him again until Sonic’s corruption takes over him?

The End has some data files of it being an actual super sonic boss fight, but ig they didn't manage to make it in time so they scrapped it
Never heard of a tree titan, interesting that.

I think Giganto would've been a great final boss if they trailers didn't spoil him. My little idea for supreme would be all the titans formed together hence the name SUPREME.
The Giganto battle takes place in the final boss... in the final game Supreme is literally white Giganto...
I managed to get this working and I have to admit it was interesting to see, but I'm totally waiting on a mod to finish this cause it'd be cool to get this working as intended

do you know if there's any data containing giganto's model size? i've had a theory for a while about the 4chan leak calling giganto a tree which made me think he was supposed to be a lot bigger in earlier builds. it would have been harder to make out his body type if that were the case. also it might be a perspectives thing but he looked bigger in the initial trailer where he tries to stomp on sonic.
w9d01 would have used the street cyberspace theme. If you try to check on the music files for cyberspace you'll notice that they're named a certain way depending on the stage theme they're used for.
w6 - Green Hill
w7 - Chemical Plant
w8 - Sky Sanctuary
w9 - Eternal Highway (aka the street theme). This one has names going from w9d02 to w9d07. Other themes start from wXd01.
Any way of getting up those weird things that are up high in the sky? They look like testing grounds, but also kinda don't.
Editing Sonic's Position is a way, but not much point to it. They are just the structures from Chaos Island, for some reason.
@@DeaThProj_HUN Huh, okay
@@JaniacTheHedgehog can you give a source for where you found that information?
I’m honestly so confused as to why they cut so much content out of this game. I understand it was due to timing but they could’ve at least kept a few of these assets such as the different towers in the final product.
Pre release images showed Amy and Tails on Ares island, I wonder what that was about considering that never happened in Game.
Where i can see that?
Do you have any source on those images?
@@DeaThProj_HUN Never mind, apparently I looked at them wrong and never double checked. She was in Kronos so Tails must’ve been in Chaos
It’s interesting that some special effect are not present in the full game
say on what did ya play to have this fluidity on the game?
How i can play this in my computer?
Tbh seeing this now makes me understand as to why the playtesters found the game boring, most likely this early kronos would have platforming sections and stuff but playing it like this makes you get bored in about 20 or 30 minutes
Or maybe not, bc based from the leaks it seems sonic team did originally wanted to make a fully open world sonic game, and i guess it was cut bc it would leave alot of space for some parts
Could be the case? But then again it was still a complaint how island 4 and 5 looked liked Kronos so? Either way, something definitely happened in development
@@Banana807 True
This is super interesting.
The fact Rhea island has stages from Ouranos island got me thinking Rhea and Ouranos was combined after they made the decision to split up Kronos island, which obviously the lead into the combined Rhea and Ouranos to be split too. I’m definitely overthinking this but I love unused stuff like this because it gets me thinking on what was the original plan for this part of the game.
Here's what should've been: Ouranos being the first island, followed by Ares and Chaos as usual, then we go all the way to Kronos/Rhea put together.
@@DeaThProj_HUN perhaps that's why the map looked so empty in the IGN footage then? Maybe they just got done porting over the new map.
@@grimpaper IGN First footage looks comparable to final to me.
Let's go more stuff to look at
Is it actually possible to get to the other side of Kronos (Rhea Island) early in the actual game with no mods?
yep
Could you tell me how did you manage to do this? I'd love to explore this by myself
6:37 holy shit it's just like they said before
If Giganto was originally suppose to be in Ouranos, where was Supreme gonna be?
It could’ve been in Rhea Island but if the unused Ancient Ark voice clips have anything to say, it could’ve been in space?
It’s possible supreme was a last minute addition but it’s hard to say as well atm
My theory is that they wanted to make another special island for the end, but due to some development issue they didn't make it, so that surely explains why they divided the island and saved the last portion of it for Supreme
I believe that Kronos Island would be the last one and Supreme would be in Giganto's Arena
3:12 Maybe the block is the shield? Maybe
The tutorial saying that enemies can shield up is likely a leftover from this set of enemies being used here. The purple ones here only appear in Ares in the final game.
I want to say. They shouldve kept it for deluxe edition or dlc. Because there is no point to buy deluxe for just 1 outfit and a starterpack
we should have got all of the other 6 years that worked on forces will be worked on frontiers instead and forces wouldn't exist, if that happened sonic team would be worked almost 11-12 years on the game, and that would have made the game better than elden ring ever was lmao, I just hope the sonic team got enough time for these animations at least.
Why does sega always good updates but scrap them just why?!
The cutscenes are at 60 fps. On pc I can only get 30. Also, they figured out no one would want to do Sonic stuff in the forest, so they added the pads to get folks out of those areas faster. Smart.
The 60 fps cutscenes are an effect of the "Disable Framerate Limiter (experimental)" code found in HedgeModManager.
100% cool
Someone needs to make this a mod
how do i go to the earlier version of kronos without moding.
you cant
@@toollaglazer2003 dang. now i can never play that version of kronos again
You showed a lot of speed running tricks i don’t see even world record players using. Are these only possible on this early map?
So they were planning on making 3 huge islands at first? 🤔
4. There's a reference to a world 4 in the game's files and every cutscene and voice line used in Rhea/Ouranos is ID'd for world 4.
@@DeaThProj_HUN I wonder what 4th island would be
That we will sadly more than likely never know.
@@DeaThProj_HUN Well I was scrolling trough comments and found this dialog with Sage about ships. Maybe the final area was in space and then the end would be the moon from the beginning
I think you would leave Kronos (which would have the form of Ouranus) and after leaving Chaos Island, go back there where you would release the second part somehow, and that would be Rhea and Uranos (with the form of Kronos) together
why does Sonic keep doing that backflip that stops his movement
Collision is bugged, presumably values such as grass have changed since this was made by Sonic Team so now it corresponds to something else and does this. Will have to be looked into.
@@DeaThProj_HUN Yeah, I think that happens in Rhea island alot in the final game. Just goes to show how unfinished it is.
Do you know how many cyberspace stages would have been intended for this one massive island?
Thats something interesting i've been thinking myself too...
Kronos splited have 7
Ournaos have 9...
The final split does
Kronos - 7
Ares - 7
Chaos - 7
Ouranos - 9
Totalling out to 30 Cyber Space levels. There's the unused w9d01, which would have been an extra highway level. So 31 total. How the split would have looked like is hard to call, but this version has 10 portals in total.
@ĐeäTh okay defintly thats have more weight just because its an actual old version of the map
So this just means the original concepr on the game was having 3 islands with 10 levels each one...
(Or well.. Maybe 2 of this 9 portals are the big's fishing spots? So then there could still be 7 levels)
Is strange to think about 2 different fishing spots on the same island haha
All this splited island thing is always so interesting to think about haha i really want to see how the in game 2D map would looked with all the portals and chaos emeralds structures there and guardians locations etc...
9:31a.m. 11/27/2022
I think onderos being a separate island is better considering how big it is
The collision is so bad too😂
5 HOURS LATE SQUAD WHERE YOU AT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
11:45 that level design 💀
You do realise I did a video cut there, right? 🤔
Top tier level design
Jk yeah it’s cut
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
DLC? I never played this game I will buy game soon?
The DLC will be free though GG
I’m not sure if it’s the map but you play like an ign employee
The collision of the map is buggy at the moment and I'm also taking it slow because it's meant to be a showcase.
With the enemies I did indeed fuck up majorly tho lmao
@@DeaThProj_HUN Don't even sweat it, anyone who played like 30 minutes of the game and is not a douche can see you're clearly hitting invisible stuff all the time there.
(But yeah, you did get beat up by that one tower tho haha)
Wow I thought sega was doing better but I’m just now hearing about time constraints and only 60 members?
