    Strip down to base layer to sleep, wear fresh dry socks to sleep, put a bottle of hot water in the foot of your sleeping bag, make sure your bladder is empty because you burn a lot of calories keeping urine warm. Stop drinking any fluids a couple hours before bed, so that means the Beer you remembered to pack this time has to be consumed earlier in the day, because you did remember the beer this time right??? I’ll watch the video now to make sure the beer gets packed.

    Greet video again! Have been watching your video’s couple of weeks/months now. I was wondering it could be interesting to start something like a forum or discord channel for assembling all those tips experiences etc that are commented in n your video’s? Since you frequently say to watch the comments for expert opinions and tips . I think it could be nice to bring that together in one place perhaps? Where further discussion, sharing of thoughts are possible? :)

    All you need is a thermal flask water bottle filled with ice water. Let it sit for an hour and drink the ice cold water. No need to go anywhere. I tried on that same jacket once but it was a size too large so I didn't buy it. It would be good.

    Hey Ted, we just got about 20" - 24" (50-60cm) of snow over the last two nights with more on the way so if you need some, you can have ours 😁 If I have to choose between taking advice from an AI who only knows as much as its program, the comment section who makes comments from their couch or from you, I will take your advice over the others any day. I am jealous of the jacket too, if you decide that it is just too warm, you can feel free to send it to me 🤣 Happy Holidays to you and your family my friend.

    One mistake I made was not opening the vents in my tent. The temp was pretty chilly at elevation and I had heavy condensation on the inside of the rain fly. I did have a towel to dry everything off. One goal of mine this winter is to try some winter camping and see how that turns out.

    Tip with water bottles- they freeze from the top of the water where it meets the air inside, so carry water bottles upside down. (Also reduces the chance of bottle frozen shut).
    If you live in an area where you need to use a water filter- keep it inside your jacket and warm at all times- frozen- breaks them.
    Glacier glasses or goggles in snow? Had snow blindness once- never again. Wearing contact lenses in sub zero can be challenging- soft lenses and goggles to stop spindrift. Keep lens pot and fluid in zip bag inside sleeping bag.

    How do the Keb pants hold up in the cold? Would you recommend going with a different pair?

    • @jaymichaelson17
      @jaymichaelson17 Год назад +2

      Depending on how cold it is, you might want to consider the Vida Pro pants. They don't have the stretch material like the Keb's. The stretch material can be pretty chilly. No wind blocking. And if you wax the Vida's, even more protection from wind/snow/rain.

    • @travist7573
      @travist7573 Год назад +2

      A good halfway are the vida ventilated, they have the stretchy groin but more wind resistant on the legs which is nice. Plus they have the zipper vents in the leg for high activity times. I’ve really been finding them a good all around pant with a wool base layer this winter 👍 I’ve been using them down to -20c for treks this winter and been comfortable.
