definitely want to make sure you have at least 40k saved up for the end of the time progression, as thats your payments you need to make. after that, i would highly recommend getting a worker slave and an anvil, then getting them set up with a basic copper dagger or something, just to always have something being made. this helps with rep gain, which is just exp, and a small money income. once they have a good skill, you can set them up with a more profitable weapon, like a moraka spear or something, and they usually produce them at good enough qualities to make a good 10k. also, night time, while difficult to see in some areas, is infinite, so definitely take time to go mining and making stuff then. Speaking of mining, you can reenter the mining area to reset the ores to get more. this is really useful if you get the upgrade to let you store more ore at a time.
armor without the armorer. train a sl@ve to the very max of all 3 skills. give them a fast 1 handed sword. then save. then enter into the arena 1v1. the winner gets a piece of armor. it's mostly chosen by a wheel, but you choose when to stop the wheel. so you could cheese it for a full set of armor.
He uploaded a 5 hour live stream a few days ago. Where most of the story progression happened. But their are a few things he must of did between that and this. Not sure where all the books came from. I deleted my other comment cause I noticed he still has most of the weapons from the end of that live stream.
EDIT: I saw you read the book, but you didn't read up to the end so I still think you might mess up on the melting of the second ore xP ------------------------------------------------------------------------- cila needs to solidify, the furnace cannot melt the highest temp ore melt the gold first. increase temp to melt the cila. otherwise you don't mix the correct ratio because the ores melt at slightly different times. the book tells you that but it's a lot of readin i know...
This game needs to improve a lot of stuff but it does have the basic DNA for a good blacksmithing game. The first is the pacing. I've seen folks totally confused how they should progress in this game. Second would be basic QoL stuff like storage where you can store premade parts and other items/weapons, the ability to extract remaining melted ores into reusable ingots, better weapon designs, better flexibility in the order of doing the process (like being able to disassemble the hilt/handle if you forget to lathe the wood).
When creating an Alloy, always melt the required 2 or 3 identical Ores first, and add the 1 alternate Ore afterwards. If there are only 2 Ores, it doesn't matter. The Ore Quality % of the lower melting-point ore will degrade fast, but the entire ore type will change once the other Ore mixes in, resetting the Ore Quality % for the new Alloy.
Melt higher temp first then cool down in water just below next metal melting temp add next metal then reheat should work.

You totally need to get lightning potion and make Mjollnir - Thor's Hammer.. A definite must
Just earn 150k and buy work slave and anvil slave and you will rest like a king and the money flowing into your pocket
i recommend selling their weapons at 10- 20% of value so they sell fast, for more skill points.
