      3 weeks ago my RV furnace broke down, it was -15°c
      I bought the model in between, N2T, $450cdn it's a new model since it wasn't in the brochure that came with it.
      I can't recommend this enough, solid build with great options. Super quiet and more than enough heat to keep my 33' RV warm👍
      LF knocked this one out of the park, where do I sign up for a free demo N2Pro unit?

    This review is spot on. I use the N2 to heat a 38 ft fifth wheel (3 slides). It is ducted into the rv's ducting system. I've been maintaining approximately 66 degrees overnight when temperatures are in the high 20's with it set at level 3.7; keep in mind there is plenty of flexibility to adjust the setting to as high as 5, which I haven't experimented with yet. The quality is very good and seems reliable to date. As indicated in the review, LF Bros does their own R & D and manufacturing in-house.
    Before my purchase, I did a lot of research and decided to spend more money on what I thought to be a better brand. So far the heater has worked flawlessly.

    Thanks for reviewing this heater! I purchased the N2 this fall to extend my season out a couple months in the interior of BC Canada. Selected the N2 over the upgraded model as the price was right and I’d doubtfully ever get to the elevation to require the upgrade.The unit has roughly 50 hours on it now and works as it did on day 1. Quiet, doesn’t leak and works as you’d want. On a side note I was missing a piece from mine and noticed well outside of the Amazon return window. C/S was easy to contact and looked after getting a replacement shipped out pretty quick. Thanks for your efforts as a creator, appreciated!

      @IndependenceOverland even if it did we are at a point right now that everything that is manufactured is really only being fine tuned for the most part. And everything we can get our hands on would allow one to live off grid or in a disaster pretty normal. With things like real portable water heaters/pumps, fridges heaters . You can practically live out of a tent and be just like living in a house.

    I picked up the N2 at the beginning of 2024 for backup house heat in case of a power outage. I did some testing with it when I initially got it and was very impressed, I even took the case off and took a look inside. There weren't many reviews on it at the time so I was taking a bit of a chance but I think it was well worth it! It was very quiet and was put together in a really nice package, it seemed to mitigate many of the complaints I read of other cheap heaters. I haven't had to rely on it to keep warm but it gives me peace of mind knowing its an option. We're supposed to get a cold snap next week so I should probably pull it out and make sure it is still in working order.

    I just got my Lf bros heater delivered yesterday. Accessory box says N2 on it. Didn't get the Accessory bag like the pro has, but the heater has the two plugs up front, control panel is not mounted on the heater, but is remote with the wire harness that plugs into the front. Price was N2 ,something like 250 bucks. Case is painted green. Did I get some sort of N2/pro hybrid?
    Also, I got the adapter so that I can plug it into 110 volt outlet. If I use that, and I get a power blink off, or complete power outage, which will most likely cause the heater to die instantly rather then go through it's cool down mode, will the heater be damaged?
    Thanks

    • @IndependenceOverland
      @IndependenceOverland  10 часов назад +1

      Yes, it will damage the heater. If you ever have a power failure and it just shuts off, get power back to it as quickly as you can and start it back up, and then you can even just power it off if you need to. It just needs to cool itself down with the fan.

    I feel like what they need is a more robust mounting plate if you want to do a permanent install. Something that has the flang that goes through the floor with the guard. And incorporates something to hold up the unit from the floor.... Because the brackets it comes with aren't very nice... I purchased one and just opened it today. Definitely nice build quality. But might need to build some type of 80/20 system for keeping off the floor that looks nicer...

    Thank you for making this review! I've been wanting to get a diesel heater for months and just cannot spend 1500 dollars on some of the custom built ones. Even the cheaper ones seem like a waste if they are going to die after a few uses. I was leaning towards the Pro but the time that I will use the heater, I'd never be above 6k feet. Too much snow above that where I like to camp. It's the 3500-5k foot range where it gets down into the 20's or 10's.

    I like the form factor of this cheap chinese diesel heater. Great review and insights specific to this unit. I watched Project Farm's test too, but I don't think it went into the Pro version, and that's what I'm more interested in. I know the Pro is a lot more, but if they're using more aluminum it's probably a buy once, cry once kinda thing.

    • @IndependenceOverland
      @IndependenceOverland  17 дней назад

      It’s quite noticeable side by side that the internal heater is a bulkier unit. And though the heat output is the same at 5kw, it’s interesting that the duct size is larger.
      Perhaps it’s to cool down the extra aluminum?
      Hard saying. But either way, you can’t go wrong for the price. Thanks for watching.

      I watched Project Farm's test too. It did not take into consideration the longevity and long term performance of each unit. Ultimately his conclusion came down to price.
      Most people will state that they can buy 3 cheap heaters for the price of one expensive heater. I'm with you when you say "buy once, cry once". There will be a lot less hassle in the long term.

Wish I could find that video to share with everyone, but maybe using Velit in the search would help people interested.

    Well, in my region and in my climate, a diesel heater sounds like a good idea, but I’m not sure I wanna waste. My heart earned me or income on something that may not work. A note on Chinese factories anybody can have their name slapped on a product made in any Chinese factory they want the Chinese factory will welcome them with open arms to come in and take pictures and do interviews that does not mean that they own the factory. I spent 20 years dealing with Chinese and Taiwanese factories in another industry. I’m very aware how this works; often times goods will leave out the back door, the factory faster than they’re leaving out the front door with a different label on the box.

  • @rono3045
    @rono3045 14 дней назад +9

    Do you own stock in LF bro's or something? The parts inside the LF bro's heater are made in China just like all the heaters you're insulting. The only difference is the LF Bros has a quiet pump. And all these heaters seem to work very well mainly the cheap $80 heaters that you're insulting, they're great

    • @IndependenceOverland
      @IndependenceOverland  13 дней назад +8

      lol, I do not own stock. Yes they are Chinese, that’s very obvious and mentioned in the video. But they have their own factory to produce and test these things. While lots of rebranded products exist that come out of the same factories, it doesn’t immediately mean that ALL similar looking products come out of the same factories. For instance, you can buy a Chinese built flat bed for your truck. Most of them have terrible quality. Companies like Dirtbox have their own factory over there, and build very high quality products.
      I don’t like the little cheap, leaky, shitbox heaters. Sorry if that offends you.

    You live in Colorado and don't think elevation matters? I agree we don't camp in the Winter at 12,000', but we do camp in the Winter at 9,000', or at least we would if our heaters worked that high. I think a heater to be used in Colorado needs to be evaluated at 10,000'. Thanks for all the great videos!

    • @IndependenceOverland
      @IndependenceOverland  16 дней назад

      No, because most trails in Colorado get closed down during the winter. Much of it isn't accessible, even some of the paved passes are closed around me this time of the year. That's why I mentioned that people who want to camp higher up should opt for the higher end unit. But for the majority of the country that don't live a mile about sea level, the N2 will do the trick, especially while used with kerosene. Thanks for watching Mark!

    As a firefighter I went for the most reputable brand with a great history, and that is Webasto. Sorry but the extra cost is cheap insurance. I bought the Webasto Air Top 2000 STC Gasoline 12v Heater, and I chose gasoline due the problems with diesel fuel in freezing temperature. Most diesel additives don't even work. Project Farm just did a review on then as well. Gasoline won't gel, freeze, cloud, etc. Gasoline is cleaner, works at much colder, diesel starts clouding at 15°F and gasoline starts to freeze around -100°F which nobody is going to be in ever lol.
