Wow wow 12 yrs again just got caught up with yoiafter my husband's passing 21/2yrs.
As a kid i hated mexican music. i liked rock. after listening to Jaime Y Los Chamacos i became a die hard fan. The drummer beats made me listen to this song over & over. All I have to say is thank you & will support tejano music forever.

I lived down the street from the Deandas (the latin swing) and i remember these guys struggling to gain an audience against more tejano style bands....la mafia, la sombra and la fiebre. I would hear people say this was old people music but man could they jam.... I would check them out at matamoros ballroom with los dos gilbertos. Jaime is one of the best.....no doubt

My dad had a dance hall in Raymondville Texas. When he could book them it was a sold out show. Me being a metal head love to see them preform. Their music is awesome and show was great. I still have the lp they signed and gave me.
Are you talking about the old Toro? In Raymondville? In 85 or 86. That's when I saw this lineup. The best in my humble opinion. They rocked the joint. Jaime jumped on the tables and was jamming the accordion. I love this lineup. The best.

No disrespect to all past and future band members but for me there is NO perfecting the artistry that came out of this line up! Every member was a beast at their instrument and Jaime/Juan's voices blended too damn smoothly!!! I'm honored I got to see them perform when they came to Indio, CA back in 1988.
izasweta saw them in Raymondville, Texas at The Toro. Badass show. Jaime dancing and playing on top of the tables. Mexicans going wild! Awesome show. Been to several more but none matched their early show. Best lineup imho.

This is by far what I compare all other conjunto bands too....I know it sounds like yea bro what ever...but. ...this was the first cassette I ever bought that just rocked my world....Pinche Jaime y JP what a duo.... I played this over and over and over....en serio...the best.. I love classic conjunto like the 2 Gs and all that but this was a major change.

as a kid i hated mexican music and also tejano, i am now 37 and i love beto quintanilla and also tejano music. tejano i started listening to it cuz of my ex girlfriend, but i am glad i was introduced to it because it is what i love to dance the most. the beat is just amazing and guess what?? i am not even mexican or tex-mex.....I am from Ecuador (south america) lol sadly tejano is not the top music in houston as it was 20 years ago. there arent even any tejano stations in FM in houston
