@@tigrispanthera5496 Fiona lost everything and went on a spiral for a couple episodes (mind you… Lip and Ian and others had season or multiple season arcs where they went off the wall) which resulting in Lip blaming for her getting his sponsee drunk (someone she didn’t know or had even heard of previously) and the fact lip didn’t get to adopt this random girl (because he neglected to tell anyone DCFS was coming by and Fiona woke up and answered the door) so lip tried to kick her out, all the others talked shit on her, and she was painted as an out of control monster because she lost her property, investment, relationship, and everything she had spent a few seasons building up and in response to that she started drinking a lot and acting kinda like Frank (which Lip also did yet Fiona supported him). In the end, she wound up with 100,000 dollars from one of her investments and she still split half of it with her siblings before she left town.

Yeah, a lot of the people who still wanted her with him tended to forget how selfish a piece he was.
Tbf, yes, he went in being told that she was devoted to her siblings and tried to convince her it wasn't healthy for her to be taking care of all of them on her own without looking after herself.
But to then hear her legally making herself more than just a sister but their official guardian with all the responsibility that comes with it, that's putting any relationship and future plans on a distant backburner.
He was fully right to be upset about that, but not to blame her for it because it wasn't shocking that she made the choice. He chose to then try and still be with her, but couldn't even handle living a normal life or a normal job, and back to trying to make easy money, got in huge trouble, and then made it worse to the point that he got some guy killed and then he had to be taken away.
Even by the end he was still living a dishonest life, was willing to try to wreck Fiona's 'stability' (even though we know it was a ticking time bomb) just to get her back and to go with him leaving everything and everyone behind Again.

While she had every right to focus primarily on the Several children she not only raised but became legal care holders for, Jimmy was right in that his problems (however small) should matter to her as well, and she never really gave much attention to it because it really wasn't a big deal, but because he was as sheltered and odd as he was, having a gay dad was big for him.
However, nothing she did could rival the fuck up that Jimmy himself caused multiple times, and the lies he told from situations or circumstances he himself caused, and then still expecting her to leave her life behind while he was still lying in his last appearance.
Be hadn't changed, that was what we saw, and that was why he never would've worked for her.

To be fair, he wasn’t mad that she did it, he was mad that she didn’t ask him how he felt about it, he even responded thag if she asked he woulda said hell yeah. It wasn’t the fact that she made this huge life decision, it was the fact that she did it without so much as asking him, making him feel like they weren’t building a future together as a team and that she still considered herself alone despite everything he’d done up until that point to prove otherwise

    • @juliantapia1407

@@chadamwilson8268 While I agree with most of what you said, I think it’s more complex than that. Deep down, Frank does care about his kids in his own twisted way where he wants their respect despite how neglectful he’s been to them. But you’re also right, he doesn’t really care about them enough to be the kind of father they need him to be cause he would rather spend his time fulfilling his own happiness than putting his kids first and making sacrifices for them.
I think the other commenter makes a good point at how Frank continues his despicable behaviour, cause it’s too late for him to try and develop a relationship with his kids where he’s more of a father than just an awful human that’s their “sperm donor”
What I love so much about William H. Macy’s subtle acting is how layered he makes Frank. For the most part we hate Frank cause of how fast he’s willing to destroy everything he touches, but he also adds a sense of vulnerability to Frank where in another life maybe he could’ve been a good father if circumstances were different.

She knew if she didn’t take care of them she probably wouldn’t see them again if cps got involved yet he couldn’t find it in his heart to make it easier on her and when she finally got to leave and have a chance at life he couldn’t even admit to himself that she was the one who did it ALL. I worked in child welfare. It’s so difficult to terminate the parents rights, judges don’t tend to favor that route so kids could be in foster care for years and years. In my mind, you should be given 12 months to get it together, that’s a year your untreated addiction and mental health can affect your child. After that, termination and finding them a good home

      * SPOILER ALERT * This stuff comes in the later seasons where we find out that Monica slept with one of Frank’s brothers who actually ends up being Ian’s biological dad who’s wife makes him kick Ian and Lip out of the house when they try to find out the family history. Also the other brother looks almost identical to Frank plus/minus some facial hair, so it could be possible they don’t get along because Frank probably pulled a scam in his brothers’s name, got away with it and his brother ended up paying for it. Also, throughout the show, in the extended family scenes, there is mention of how many times Frank and Monica have tried to steal and scam from the family to buy drugs and alcohol and also the number of family occasions and gatherings that have been ruined by either one or both being inebriated.
So I think it’s safe to assume, the uncle kicked them out either because he thought they were pulling a scam, or because he realised Frank and Monica being such unreliable parents would add the burden of taking in so many kids for life and unwelcome drop ins from Frank and Monica for the rest of their lives

they seem all to be smart, but also like characters in a horror movie. just pure bad decisions from beginning til the end. especially Fiona and Lip. there are other dramas in life but the writers consistently want them to be fine for a minute and then devastatingly lose it all in the next, nothing new. It's really exhausting. I kinda understand why Emmy left the show.

She was tired. She took on raising them since she was 9 years old. By the time she left, they we’re basically all grown and acting wild anyway. Her staying wouldn’t have mad much of a difference. She did all she could. Debbie was out here being an unfit teenage mom, Lip threw his whole college education away and was walking around with nothing going on, Carl was causing chaos and Ian was also causing chaos along with Mickey. She had to take care of herself.
