Maybe some health buffs could have helped it but for the most part, you could counter or excel with boxing and pluck in general if you knew what you were doing. Spin really just needed to be readjusted a bit to cost less skill points and have a reliable block breaker, which it did have in the early yba days. In fact, old hamon was pretty solid other than the fact that the block breaking move was slow. It was very simple to use. The new boxing and specs are fine ig, but the fact that the specs needed heavy nerfs due to massive damage combos that were nearly unstoppable is very telling on the fact that they never needed reworks in the first place. Only buffs and nerfs on the pre-existing ones.
