The showroom at the abandoned Montfort location is actually still intact. If you go to the cube glass windows on the side of the store, you can see the old studio c stage!
This is gonna be hype! About a month ago I did some Google-Fu and Google Earth scouring to find the original Showbiz location, found out it closed in 2002 or so and was demolished not much later....the location of the doorway is now part of a parking lot 😢 but I'm still looking forward to watching and learning more! Edit: my bad, by original Showbiz you meant the original *montfort tx* one! haha
I don’t know if he mentioned this, but the 32m bot was sent to the port orange, Florida Chuck E. Cheese’s. The store got destroyed due to hurricane Ian and. So was the bot.
The abandoned Montfort location was a staple of my childhood. One time I went there and one of the speakers that was hanging from the ceiling suddenly fell to the ground right in front of the stage. Didn’t injure anybody, although it could have. I’d completely forgotten about that till I watched this video.
Nice to see they're being a bit more lenient on not destroying everything too bad we can't say the same for all the other locations I sure hope they save atleast 1 of every type of animatronic show even if it were to just go into a museum and be put on display in a static no perform format im sure people would still go for the history and to see all the cool old stuff
If you ever wanna do a video on the history of past and current locations in the OKC area I'd love to help I know a lot about those locations as they are the ones i grew up going to like how the original showbiz in SW OKC burned down sometime around 2004 or 2005
Wonder if Dallas could become a pioneer once more as a retro store. Via the corporate owned Huntsville AL 3 Stage or something similar! Cant wait nonetheless!❤
Awesome video , would be awesome to have both you and Matt visit Chuck E. Cheese at Milwaukee Chase Ave again. Opened around 1981 and used to have a Chuck e Street zone and an underground crawl zone under the show also. The show walls are still in tact and still have animatronics also. A lot of history at that location, and rumored was they had a adult section in the far right with the King at one point
I didn't know there was more than one two story CEC lol. One of these days I'll figure out how to demo my idea for a 2.5 stage idea. It'll never happen but I really want to get the idea how there as a 'just in case' lol
Hey Chris I have a question have you seen a studio c stage that had the old camera to the blue room I know you don't see it anymore but it had this turning camera that you could switch to on the interact camera control
they got the Refresh version of 2.0 (2023 version), the ones earlier in the year reused the old furniture but all the ones that I've seen pics of recently have the 2.0 booths. (Montfort got 2.0 in May 2023)
Hey! Just thought I'd mention something 7:56 About the Canadian stores being Franchises, I'm not sure if this applies to stores outside of Ontario, however all Ontario CEC stores are Corp owned and we have no play places in any of our locations!! We have only 5 locations in the entirety of Ontario and all have removed their Skytubes and stuff during the pandemic I'm not really sure about the other Canadian stores personally since I haven't looked into em
@SetsStreetsEats The huge statue is located at the 2stage location in Willowdale/North York The location turns 40 yrs old today, actually! I'll have a little Anniversary video out for it lol

@@smokeyjoeproductions None unfurtunately since it's Target corporate work offices and they are strict about taking photos or video there.

It's actually not demolished. They just repurposed it into offices but it's still there and you'll get to see it in this video!
Do you mind sharing the exact address of old original location? I've been trying to look for it.
Awesome! I’m glad you met Matt once again!

actually, the bot was completely fine surprisingly! i don’t recall what happened to it after but it did infact survive
I know it survived when the store got damaged. I’m just saying, after that they demolished the store.
15:12 it was on top of a wall when you visited Travis
2 LEGENDS RIGHT HERE
Once again what amazing video Chris and especially with Matt the franchize again! 🤩
Ask him for the layout!!
That's so cool that you saw Matt again

I guess corporate stopped considering Irving a home base store once corporate relocated their offices.

Huntsvilles show was destroyed so that’s impossible.

I went to this CEC for the summer of fun Concert tour it's a pretty nice store
Dallas monfort always has been the place where they test stages like the prototype cu stage and the star stage and later the circle of lights
Super interesting with nice archives!🐭

All 3 locations in Hawaii have the skytubes still

you should go to cec headquarters that will be amazing

Probably the best 2.0 location, except for Northridge CA.
