I am Somali, and I speak Somali and Arabic fluently. I am trying to make English the third language that I can speak fluently. I speak Arabic because, in Somalia, Arabic is the second language, and it is taught in schools. I encourage everyone to learn a second language because knowing Arabic and English has made my life more interesting, and it has given me a new personality that I never had before.
I fell in love with India almost 50 years ago and actually majored in South Asian Studies. I speak Hindi, Bangla and some Tamil. It is an adventure. My advice to anyone learning English: Don't give up. Mistakes are part of learning. Who knows, you may invent a new dialect!
Dutch was my first language. But we stopped speaking it at home when I was about 15.. But now I feel very sad that after 60 years, I have forgotten almost all of it.
I am a native English speaker but heard German from my grandparents and their relatives. Some of the family were immigrants from Russia yet spoke German predominantly. The reason is because they were Volga Germans. Czarina Katherine the Great had asked German farmers to move to Russia with the intention of having the Germans pass on their expertise in agriculture to the locals. It went well for quite a long time until Stalin and the Revolution. Since that population was deemed ‘not true Russians’ they were thrown out of the country. My relatives landed in Kansas in 1917. We would visit them from time to time. So interesting. Glad I learned German. I’m also an interpreter for the deaf, so I would say I know 3 languages : English, German and ASL.
It's really a cool idea to ask ppl about languages!! Eating for continuing! As to me, Russian is my native and I know English a bit ))) And I would like to know Chinese
I speak Arabic, Spanish, French, English, I can understand Portuguese, I've just started learning German.. One piece of advice that I can give to English learners is to immerse yourselves into English, do everything in English and you'll definitely improve step by step..
Do programming languages count? :D My native language is Dutch. Because of my job, English is my second language. I've also learned French and German and had a few classes of Latin.
Four languages! That's a lot! Good job. I really like the Arabic alphabet. Maybe one day I will learn an Asian language too. Maybe Korean or Chinese :)
Understandable English Awesome, I hope you'll be fluent in those languages as native speakers do. This year, I'll, in all likelihod, study abroad such as Korean that I really desired whole my life. I thought learning a foreign language could assist me a lot by now , so I always suggest everybody research it in my point of view.
My advice to those learning to speak English; DON'T learn from television newscasters! Their grammar is horrible! Ditto for social media. Every time someone tells me their grammar is good, I ask them how many parts of speech English has. Haven't had the right answer yet. I learned in 6th grade.
Obviously I speak in three languages, These are Kyrgyz(native), russian(Fluent) and English B2 level. Probably gonna say Japanese cause I love watch anime as a result I wish I can watch it in original dub. Thanks everybody!
Great video keep up the good work ❤ I speak Arabic natively because I'm from Algeria (It's more like the dialect but we learn MSA in schools and we read and understand it), English fluently I'm living in the USA I learnt it from school before moving and finally Spanish because I live in Texas and I want to learn it to fluency so I can find a job and stay here because I'm on a student visa.
That's great! Arabic is such a beautiful language. I would love to learn it but I don't know which dialect to choose yet :) I'm planning to visit Algeria one day!
I liked this saying at the end of interview "Every person should speak at least two language" I think each language is a whole world with own culture and mentality. And all of them are beautiful with their own way.
I speak English as my native language. I speak Estonian and Russian at a high level. I speak Spanish at an intermediate level. I speak Persian/Farsi at a basic level. My current targets are to get my Spanish to an advanced level and to improve my listening skills in Estonian.
In the USA, "you guys" is a very common way of saying "you" in the plural form. So, if I was talking to my mom and dad I might say: "What are you guys doing on Saturday?"

Why
Ben jij het echt vergeten? Or do a few Dutch words refresh your memory again? :D

The Volga Germans are quite interesting. I’ve met a few who were sent to Kazakhstan by Stalin.
