UNBELIEVABLE Catch out of TINY CREEK | Upstate New York Fishing (How is this possible?)

- Exploring small water always seems to pay off. While I was up near Lake Ontario and the great lakes, I decided to scope out this tributary that was no more than 20 feet wide; a spot most anglers would overlook. I didn't know what to expect going right off the bat but I had a feeling there had to be some lake run fish. Steelhead, browns, and King Salmon were all possibilities. First look at the creek had me second guessing myself since some of the runs were only inches deep and I couldn't picture any large fish being able to traverse upstream very far. After wading up for 5 minutes I spot the first river monster. A 20-25 lb king salmon is just chilling right under the bank of the river. I tied on a moon-eye jig head and a grub, started exploring more upstream and the rest is history. I got one of the craziest reaction strikes I've ever seen from a fish of this caliber and the fight was even crazier. Battling this 25-30 lb female Chinook salmon is something I'll never forget. Small water, giant fish, tight lines. And #neverendthesend

So cool Man! Good for you for scoping out the big fish in the small waters! Can't believe people are asking you where you were.
Opening segment at 0:29 looks very much like the deep pool in Keg Creek just off the highway..east of Olcott, NY. That is a beautiful stream. Very often you can see fish stacked up in that pool.
Great video brother. I like the way you approach the water and your enthusiasm. Beauty king from the creek. Nicely done👌
When I was in drum I fished everywhere I could north of pulaski. Great video man you should fish lake champlain some time!
Sick video bud! I love getting them in the small creeks
Oh yeah! No feeling beats it!
Congrats! That was awesome 👍
SKYE I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS MAN. I REALLY WANT TO MEET YOU ONE DAY
So great to see a NY creek like that so healthy; when so many only 30 yrs ago weren't. Just a question: Ever hear of the Solunar Tables?
Got yourself a sub! Sweet videos man. I live in NY.
11 maybe 12 lb salmon ….sheesh
Caught my first king in a tiny creek just like this. 20lbs. Couldn’t believe a fish that big was in there .
That’s like a 12 pound king no where near 25
What a handsome fisherman
Hello, this creek is so beautiful. I wanted to visit. Where is this exactly? Especially from New York City? thanks. Beautiful video!
One of the Great Lakes tribs! Thank you!!!
Nicely done, both catch and video. Not in most of the creeks around ROC with mud bottoms
Catching spawning fish off redds. Thank god this is on the GLs
Although I think you may have been confusing weight with inches. Thats a great fish! You’re heart must have been pounding.
you might try " Montana Creek " in the Mat-Su valley ALASKA , IF u DO GO DOWNSTREAM WHERE THE CREEK MEETS THE BIG SUSITNA RIVER a friend yrs ago Josh battled a 30 lb'er w/ a 5 wt rod nreel took him about 45 mins., to land it and many a 100 yard runs going up river and back ,guees technique played in this outcome 🦈
Very interesting video 😃
If there's a creek attached to Ontario chances are there will be some salmon in it in the fall.
Couldn’t have said it better myself
Looks like Orwell
where was this
Catch and release? That's not what my stomach is growling about. Fish and chips!!!!!
Just out of curiosity, what lb test line do you use I may be going up to ny some time around New Years for steelhead and I don’t really know were to start
Get yourself a nice long rod, 9 feet or longer. Medium or medium light action. Rods that are rated from 6 to 12 lb line are the most common for steelhead here. Good place to start is 10lb main line, 6 or 8 lb leaders. Now, if you're going for salmon, you will need to step it up a bit. Probably a medium rod, rated to about 20 lb line. I use 12 lb line on my salmon rod
Wow!!!!!!!!#neverendthesend
nice video~~
I been recently looking for new fishin spots up here around ontario and sodus, got any suggestions?
All the tribs are good to be honest. Just depends on the time of year. In September all the creeks have kings!
Bro can u plz drop the location of this great place ? 😊
I’ve had resident browns fight way harder than that
They're half dead at this point. Nothing like catching them trolling out on the lake. 20-40 minute battles are not uncommon.
Spawning fish that make it to the small creek tributaries deserve to procreate and die in peace. Banging redds is just wrong…
What creek is this? I live by sandy creek not sure if this is up the creek more looks familiar
One of the Lake Ontario tribs! All of them have nice fish if I’m being honest
Ur nuts bro 😂
What rod are you using bud?
Hey bro wanted to know what's the best month to catch salmon in these creeks! And what are the best creeks to hit in upstate New York? I want to fish in something similar to this and shallow:)

Only august - October or November for the kings tho

If you actually watched the video you would see that he released it. He also says "let it get on it's way to spawning"...."catch and release is what it's all about".
What creek is this?
A Great Lake trib!
