I think Blu was feeling the cooler weather. Turkeys are not very smart and I am sure that turkey did not learn his lesson. Early Thanksgiving dinner I see coming. Hey, Herc was protecting himself, those turkeys can really hurt. Glad to see Christina getting a little better, she is in good hands. Thank you for sharing, love watching.

It was like blue was taking a page out of spruces book and running around being silly. Herc hopefully may not be as bothered as much by the turkeys once he is finally neutered. Praying Christina heals soon.

Spruce has been watching Ellie the Golden on his tablet and wants to do a selfie with dad like Ellie does! Watching Heartland Docs on Disney + and they just made a brace for a rooster with an injured leg.

Maybe a trip to the vet could put some light on what's going on with Christina. They could x-ray her right leg and see if it might be a break or arthritis or etc. Have you given it some thought about maybe asking Grandpa Doss if he would want one of the male turkeys or maybe Chad would want one or both? Just trying to come up with some other way than processing them. Blue acted like she was having a lot of fun today. She didn't seem to butt anyone or be aggressive so I think she was acting like a person does when Spring comes around after a long winter. LOL

It was lovely visiting Shady Acres today. Will miss the antics of the toms but can see how they have to go.
All birds need protecting no matter what anyone says. Dogs are the number 1 predator of chickens, ducks, turkeys, guuneas, pheasants, etc. I am very glad all worked out❤

I loved the Nintendo pack of momma, lil Mario and Kuppa leading the birds down the hill. If you get cedar chips for the brooder it should help with the smell, it can also help with critters. Just thoughts for you. Please continue to keep us in the loop. God Bless

I think fall hit in full force , my high temp for the coming week is 59, I’ve brought all my plants in I over winter because night temps are in the low 30’s . But it’s Illinois , weather changes fast..
They can definitely fly over the fence. They can even roost in trees if they choose. My uncle used to raise 2500 meat turkeys at a time. Blue is enjoying the first burst of football weather...just as the first burst of spring each year. I am a softy and appreciate the special care you two dole out to all.❤
Hurk needs trained three commands, COME, STAY, and HEEL.
He should already know these commands. He runs off cuz he thinks he can and have no fear from his owners. Have be firm with these one word commands. Having him fixed is not going to train him. Give him loving when he does what you want him to do . Maybe get a book on his breed to help you.

I feel so sorry for Hercules. But trying to understand. I don’t think he will learn if he can’t be with them. Toms usually are aggressive as they get older. Praying one day they can all be together in peace.

Saw an old short this morning from Grandpa Doss Farms when Mario and Luigi were staying with Batman, P-Dub, and Fox. Four boys were huddled under one arch shelter while Luigi was alone in the next one. Certainly show his character even when he was younger he was a quiet loner at times. I think he's grown more sociable since Mario's strong personality is gone. I like seeing him gaining confidence. Enjoy your critters! Best wishes from northern Illinois.

Herc was being the protector that he should be and those turkeys were teasing him. Turkey for Thanksgiving sounds good. Our Thanksgiving is today (Oct.9th). Shannon, you're going to have to relabel any bottles that don't contain the original liquid. My husband either forgets or doesn't listen and I have to do that. Loved watching Blue having a good time.
