I can't really believe the comments section , plenty of people are just like "she's rich and has resources and that's why she has achieved so much" , there are many indian American kids of same age as her , and same social status , many kids in India whose fathers are big businessmen and are rich , how many kids are doing the things she is doing? It's not always about money , the thought and attitude should be there too , she had her thoughts and ideas , and she chose to work on it...... I just found some handful of comments appreciating her and her achievements in such a young age , someone even said there's " nothing special" about her.... Just wow....great job girl , keep moving forward 👍👍
Nothing but admiration for this young lady! Absolutely amazing. I do have to wonder if this “Kid of the year” recognition is necessary though. I think there is already enough pressure on today’s youth to achieve a lot before they even understand what they want out of life. I hope no one is looking at this and thinking less of there accomplishments! Everyone’s journey is different and meaningful in its own way.
The problem is no one gets equal opportunity, guidance, direction like this girl got during her academics and in life. Important point here is to learn what is going around us rather comparing yourself with attributes of others. You are best in yourself n only you can change your situations now or never
Dont compare success with Religion,Race, country,..Its the outcome of their hardwork,i can see many people praising India for her success, but we should keep in mind that we all can do it if we carry the determination everytime along with us.We don't need to make our country proud, make yourself proud the world will automatically receive from your success 🙏🙏
What an amazing young woman. I'm happy for her. She sounds so motivated and inspired. I wish people would stop comparing themselves to her, and to others in general. The only person you should be comparing yourself to is yourself. Only you can believe in the person you want to become, and create that outcome.
Woah, this person was actually on a zoom call with our class a few months back! She had a friend or something in our class and they invited her over and she talked about the inventions she had made. It was actually a cool experience!
I see many people in the comments feeling intimidated by her. But tbh she had the resources , comes from a good background in short she is privileged. Many people don’t have access to education in many countries, no decent living conditions. So you’re doing your best always, don’t feel less happy after seeing this.

A change for the better is a change for the better. Maybe I won't ever change the world in a way that will be noticed by all its inhabitants, but I know I won't allow my life to be lived in vain. I'll leave the world a better place for having had me in it.

Finally someone who's deserving........not the one who jusss give speeches with a fake accent.....and shout everywhere claiming herself to be an activist........bruhhhhhh faking accent and dramatically shouting while speaking won't change the world
The difference between Indian Americans and Indians is innovation. The indian kids and Indian American kids both have similar brains, both are good at study, but the thing we lack innovation in India. Despite having IITs and some of the best educational institutions we still have to call foreigners when we're constructing bridges and tunnels.
Kudos to her by doing good for the society. But everyone of us can make changes in society. If we cant do something this big, we can definitely do some small good deeds everyday. Giving out food, visiting an orphanage or an old age home. Obviously these things wont get you A noble peace prize or get your face on the TIME's magazine but it will definitely make some difference. That's what we all want, isn't it...to make some difference in the society.

@@rifsvideoarchive I can see your point. Before I continue, I need to say that I'm not trying to argue with you, I just want to express my view on this topic (because if I don't say this, some people get the wrong idea and think I'm attacking them).
As much as your opinion makes sense, I personally think having these "Kid of the Year" videos isn't going to be a bad thing. It's an effective way to find out about the great things different people of our age are doing, and it helps their achievements become acknowledged. I wouldn't have known about Gitanjali's invention if it wasn't for this video.
As much as I wish I could improve the world like her, and as much as this video reminds me I haven't done that, I genuinely appreciate Gitanjali being recognized for her accomplishment. She absolutely deserves the praise for her contribution.
That said, I think there are a lot of other amazing young people out there who also deserve the praise. And I feel sympathy for the other unfortunate 4999 candidates who didn't get chosen, as well as those who didn't even make the list.
Therefore, I think it would be even better to have periodical videos of impressive kids instead of just one "Kid of the Year", because all those other people also deserve recognition for their achievements.

True
Sharmaji's title is officially in danger now!
Finally, someone who does not use their time for TikTok dances!

Hearing her speak is so inspiring. I'm only slightly older than she is, and of course I wish I could've accomplished as much, but at the same time I'm so so glad that someone out there in the world decided to make a change for the better, and it certainly didn't have to be me for me to celebrate it. A change for the better is a change for the better. Maybe I won't ever change the world in a way that will be noticed by all its inhabitants, but I know I won't allow my life to be lived in vain. I'll leave the world a better place for having had me in it.

The difference between Indian Americans and Indians is innovation. The indian kids and Indian American kids both have similar brains, both are good at study, but the thing we lack innovation in India.
