(Correct Lyrics from the CD booklet) "However love can help you We are all standing alone The terror's in our heads We don't control the controls I turn to face the sun We are still standing alone At last we'll sing of the terror It helps us hold the controls We'll sing in the sunshine We'll laugh every day We'll sing 'cause love will save us The sunshine every day Your voice says yes but I can't go on Your voice says yes but I can go More What gives judgement the final word When at once the sacred word Can't be heard"
This is amazing!! Why didn't they record and mix the record to sound this powerful and intense!?!?! The recorded version sounds so deflated and weak compared to this!! I love it!!
I just got back! It was so intense! I got pulled into the layers of their new album, all the different noises and instruments there are so many layers that I just got pulled into, I nearly just went unconscious because I practically left my body hahaha It was really good live. And It was a typical Wayne Coyne show, he put on a great show like the Flaming Lips are known for. If they come near you on this tour go see them. Its worth it!
you just don't feel the immense power force and passion from the album version. I am SOOOO excited to go see them live TONIGHT!!!! I wasn't sold on this new album until hearing them live in their videos! I hope its a whole other level live in person!
Here's to a DECADE of The Terror! I was at this show. Anything from this era up to Oczy was insane. A true watermark to show where the wave broke and the tides died down. Wayne Coyne is a genius artist. Mad Man of a person. Genius fuckin artist!!! Without the W.O.M.B. Gallery there's no Meow Wolf. Period!
My first time seeing a The Flaming Lips live performance and I'm left with goosebumps. That girl was trippin, I can't help but think it might have been an intentional move by the band to create an extra heap of intense emotion.
Was unsure of this song at first. Now that I've seen this video, I think I love this song that much more. Stuff like this is why I want to see them live...like...now :U
The universe holds us as mother earth weeps at it's feet. We are all connected. If we cannot find the fine balance between our own creativity and destruction we are doomed.
The thing with the baby and the lady crying seems to me a bit reminiscent of the baby snatching element in the movie Labyrinth or in the Sandman comics. And to a certain extent, Wayne has that feeling of Jareth/Morpheus but with an intergalactic touch. It's as if he were looking for the heir to his cosmic kingdom... anyway, that's my take
Some Flaming lips songs are well put together and have a beginning, middle and an end. See In a Priest Driven Ambulance or even See the Leaves more recently. Then some are like they just were practicing in the studio and someone hit record. Unfortunate really.
The Terror is BY FAR the best Lips album ever - I have not been able to stop listening since last Tuesday - and this particular track is one of the obvious highlights. Sitting on tix for the Pacific Amp show and can hardly wait! I do wish Ivins would grab a clue and take that disgraceful f'ing shirt off though... eh, "artists" --- psssh.
They've been signed to warner bros. for 22 years now. They have slowly become more abstract as the years go on. It was probably the song "shine on sweet jesus" that got WB's attention. It's almost a pop song, except for the fact that it also sounds like fucked up circus music.
They do have other music that sounds different than this... I get the implication you're just hearing of the Flaming Lips now in 2013. And this is coming from someone who liked a Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj music video.
it looks like the price for this concert was taking 1 more acid hit than the most youve taken before. somebody needs to give the crying chick a glass of water and take her home
it's cult btw. Also, much like Pink Floyd, they have many different periods and progressions. If you can't find anything in their catalogue you like then I feel sorry for you.
i'm proud to say that girl is my daughter. we love you honey. mommy is waiting at home with your favorite cookies. come home right after the show. ok sweetie :) ... LMAO
Nobody had a chance at "saving" that girl. Not even baby Jesus. I'm sure she came around eventually...eight to twelve hours later. Her brain will be altered for 8 to twelve years later. But she will come around...
oh noooooo Waynes eating baby dolls please somebody explain to him thats not a peanut butter & she uses jelly sandwich.. (ok lame attempt @ being witty or whitty)
Catching them live during this era was magical. The whole set was amazing. The Terror is and will be at the top of Flaming Lips albums.
Agreed
The guy who said "yeah" at the end needs an award.
I love that they never shy away from the weird darkness
One of the darkest and BEST albums by the Flaming Lips!!!
Sometimes people ask me what kind of music I like to listen to. I have no idea how to answer that question.
Ikr
good music
each of their live performances is a true experience
The flaming lips saved my LIFE!
My dad always said: "Be careful with the flaming lips, Eugene"
Great observation, so ture but in a good way.
lol that's great
LOL Set Your Controls For The Heart Of The... Flaming Lips.
Did he also tell you to be careful with that axe?
Yep PF and the lips
My favourite 😃
(Correct Lyrics from the CD booklet)
"However love can help you
We are all standing alone
The terror's in our heads
We don't control the controls
I turn to face the sun
We are still standing alone
At last we'll sing of the terror
It helps us hold the controls
We'll sing in the sunshine
We'll laugh every day
We'll sing 'cause love will save us
The sunshine every day
Your voice says yes but I can't go on
Your voice says yes but I can go
More
What gives judgement the final word
When at once the sacred word
Can't be heard"
This song (title song) explains the album's artwork. So cool.
She felt the terror
My god. I love where the Flaming Lips are going musically and visually with these shows. The Terror is album of the year material guys.
Does anyone feel like this album is only getting more relevant as time passes?
very underrated and way better than Oczy Mlody
you have predicted the future
My favourite album by them since it's been released.
This is amazing!! Why didn't they record and mix the record to sound this powerful and intense!?!?! The recorded version sounds so deflated and weak compared to this!! I love it!!

Loved it, thanks Wayne! Come back to Italy this summer, it was wonderful in Padova last year!
Much respect for bands NOT afraid to experiment. Much sadness for those unwilling to go along.
Great!!! Love this tune and the sound of the cymbals!
Really liking the visual s in the background.this song reminds me if the sea where all the sudden get sucked into the endless space!!!!!
these live video's are amazing!
This album is so mind blowing! And the live videos take it to a higher level! :-)
Here's to a DECADE of The Terror! I was at this show. Anything from this era up to Oczy was insane. A true watermark to show where the wave broke and the tides died down.

My first time seeing a The Flaming Lips live performance and I'm left with goosebumps. That girl was trippin, I can't help but think it might have been an intentional move by the band to create an extra heap of intense emotion.
Most likely, yeah.
Was unsure of this song at first. Now that I've seen this video, I think I love this song that much more. Stuff like this is why I want to see them live...like...now :U

Increible!!!

THIS MIX
HOLY FUCK
WHY CAN'T THE ALBUM SOUND LIKE THIS
exactly. the album sounds all hidden stuff.
I think that everytime i hear this. this sounds so much more "Rock", where as the album sounds very electronic
Art.
The universe holds us as mother earth weeps at it's feet. We are all connected. If we cannot find the fine balance between our own creativity and destruction we are doomed.
yes
We will sing always.

YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH *GASP*
The Flaming Lips should start playing "Charlie Manson Blues" at live shows again. It might fit.
çokiyi

Where did Wayne get little baby Cosma Shiva?

I really wanna be on one of these shows, don't even care bout doing drugs.
Wonder what Uwe Boll got inspired in for the cult in his film Postal

1. The Soft Bulletin
I wanna know the back story to this like what's with the baby and the woman crying? Still an amazing video though
better than the album version
begins like careful with that axe eugene....
uh...just by writing one of the most influencial albums ever which is still pretty often listed as one of the top 3 best records from the 90's ?
Yeah!!! A little bit awkward at the end but Yeah!!!
Im still kind of curious why that lady at the end was crying.
Guys, the crying woman is part of the show; just like the baby.
the baby is me can confirm
They do have other music that sounds different than this... I get the implication you're just hearing of the Flaming Lips now in 2013. And this is coming from someone who liked a Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj music video.
Death Stranding vibes
esa morra se ha de haber aventado un mal viajeee
do you realize the flaming lips have other songs?
I'm slipping into Charlie Manson blues.

it looks like the price for this concert was taking 1 more acid hit than the most youve taken before.
somebody needs to give the crying chick a glass of water and take her home
hahahahaha! Wicked.
Finally an updated schtick. Maybe they were tired of pulling confetti out of their bums : p
jfc
I think I'm on drugs

it's cult btw. Also, much like Pink Floyd, they have many different periods and progressions. If you can't find anything in their catalogue you like then I feel sorry for you.
i'm proud to say that girl is my daughter. we love you honey. mommy is waiting at home with your favorite cookies.
come home right after the show. ok sweetie :)
...
LMAO
.......why is she crying? I obviously missed something..
Probably LSD. It's emotional enough....I could only imagine the fear if you were frying.
Someone help that girl... Errr, guy? Help them.
Nobody had a chance at "saving" that girl. Not even baby Jesus. I'm sure she came around eventually...eight to twelve hours later. Her brain will be altered for 8 to twelve years later. But she will come around...
Dang, too much acid
LOL
I'd say just the right amount.
oh noooooo Waynes eating baby dolls please somebody explain to him thats not a peanut butter & she uses jelly sandwich.. (ok lame attempt @ being witty or whitty)
