Higher FPS? Faster Rending? Better Performance? Does AMD's AutoOC Deliver?

- If you have an all AMD Ryzen and Radeon system, AMD has introduced an update to the AMD Chipset and Radeon Adrenaline Software that enables one-click auto overclocking for both the CPU and the GPU. This has long been the dream of some gamers but is it worth it? Does it produce a significant benefit?

It works but I dont like the idea of overclocking
it set EDC PPT and other power limits in my BIOS and cranked the scaler 10x with +200mhz offset. Made my system very unstable even after setting defaults it did not revert the changes it made in my BIOS so i was left having to reset my bios and DDU drivers in the end.
It's too heavy handed in that regard. I know AMD's engineers can design this to be more intelligent. Maybe they will get there.
Good work 👍
Thanks ✌️
Update: Issue fixed. Installed Windows Media Pack......
Will you look into the manual tuning/custom button or is that not available yet? What options does that have if so
My series on that starts here: ruclips.net/video/h8dKnhX1N8A/видео.html I cover all the auto options, the AMD profiles, and how to manually tune the GPU.
I'm also preparing a quick optimization video to cover just the numbers and how to set them for a 5000 series CPU and 6000 series GPU. The other videos are for folks who want more details or want to dial in even more.
Update on driver install. Clean installation of Win10, still the same....missing several .dll`s. The only difference i see on the amd downloadpage/release notes is that the driver i have installed 21.8.2 is (WHQL). The newest, 21.9.1 is not (WHQL). Guess i have to stick with this one for now.
Same issue here. And it conflicts with ryzen master dunno why, says the driver is not installed properly... if i uninstall radeon software then ryzen master works. But whatever... ill stick to the 21.8.2 as well.
I need that because my cpu is bottlenecking my rtx 4060 my cpu is ryzen 5 5500
i have 5900x but the option to auto oc are not coming up in radeon software after the update. is it because i already have pbo enabled in the bios?
Did you also update the chipset? Have to update both for them to appear. If you have PBO setup in the BIOS, I would recommend using that.
Same thing happend to me. I reverted back from w11 to win 10. installed new chipset drivers and then gpu drivers. Worked just fine after that
Is it safe to use this frequently?
How long does it take to reboot ?
Too bad i’m unable to install the drivers. I get errors saying missing mf.dll and several other dll’s. What could be the problem? By the way….keep up the good work. Best regards Bjørn
My recommendation would be to download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU), Boot into safe mode (hold shift > Start Menu > Power > Restart), run DDU and remove your old driver. Back to regular windows and try installing the driver again.
@@TheGrayingTech i already tried that twice yesterday. But maybe i should check my chipset drivers. Will keep you posted😉
auto feature failed to apply
Only my gpu shows up.. my ryzen9 5900x does not show here
but i use ryzen master anyway
You'll get better performance directly from Ryzen Master & BIOS anyways. Did you update both the Chipset & the GPU driver?
Is it safe?
but what if you enable PBO does this stack on top?
Not really. It overrides the PBO settings in the BIOS. At least that is what I found.
@@TheGrayingTech so wouldn't it be better to have overlooking set in bios then this software?
Stock on full load 65°C
Oc +0.2 on full load 90°C lmao
i do not see tuning
same im using vega 8
can you use this even if you dont have a radeon gpu?
It just enables AutoOC +200 in Ryzen Master. So you can use it there.
@@TheGrayingTech thanks so if I manually enabled PBO with +200 and my own curve optimizer, it's better!
Yes, very much so.
