Darren’s room is a DREAM. So whimsical! Jenny’s room is giving fancy scandinavian prison cell 😐 Mostly because of the lack of softness and the tiny window.
Darren's room is an actual kids room, I love it! Jenny's room could be a college kids room, and it looks pretty boring. Chiara's room looks more like a guest room where a kid is temporarily staying rather than an actual kids room
Yeah, Chiara's room, particularly the colors, is beautiful, but not very "kid-like". Maybe kids that are extremely studious, but most kids would be bored and not particularly comfortable in there.

Darren never disappoints! I absolutely ADORE the little mermaid room. The wallpaper, the seahorse lamps, and basically EVERYTHING! I love how creative his designs are! Big thank you to AD for this series!
Darren's room is ingenious. The removable decorations are distinctly youthful but the architecture, wallpaper and light fixtures are classy and ageless. This way the room can grow with the child simply by changing the bright bedding for something more subdued. He also creatively interpreted the canopy bed and seamlessly used one of its drapes to curtain the partition.
Darren arbitrarily moved the window. I don't appreciate when a designer decides it's okay to ignore the architectural constraints provided in the assignment.
Darren 100%. Jenny's room looks like a psych ward. Lol. Chiara's room while beautiful, is simply not childlike. Darren's room is kid friendly and upscale at the same time. I love it.
Darren does it again! It's amazing how he can design for so many audiences. No matter what the challenge is, he always knocks it out of the park. Please keep making this series. It's the best!!
Notice that Darren is the only one having fun and seems excited I think that shines through in the way he’s the only one with an actual kids room and not a white collar asylum

I think the rendering didn't really do justice to Jenny's wallpaper, the shading made it look like tiles, and made the whole design feel a bit sterile and cold. Darren's ofc is a full fantasy, and I think Chiara's needed a bit more functionality and obviously storage.
Storage was a little bit of an issue for all of them, especially in a room so large. Tho Darren took better care of it than the others. Also Chiara’s design is the least gender neutral of them all..
Agreed about the wallpaper, I think the scale was off too? When she help up the sample it didn't make sense that the rectangles would be that big in the room
yes, I was looking for this comment! She wasnt my favorite, but still, that wall has nothing to do with the wallpaper she showed (with cobalt blue, some red, etc) The person that made the render just put a tile instead.
The assignment gave him a window that he didn't like, so he just decided to create a different window in a different location. How is that "understanding the assignment"? 🤔The one who really understood was Jenny, who created a harmonious space that was high on functionality and can also be easily accessorized/re-accessorized to meet the needs of the growing child.

Darren's room is amazing. The other two have very little imagination, and are completely impractical for kids. Hard to reach high shelves, desktops supported by chains, little floor space to play, dark or without much natural light, not enough storage, no whimsy or cheerful colors, etc.
I'm usually not a huge fan of Darren's designs as I look at them through whether if I could comfortably and practically live in them (they're creative and beautiful but often would be hard to live in on daily basis) but in this case, his style fits perfectly! the room is stunning and could make any younger child happy. it's also interesting that he actually made it more practical than many of his other designs, I wonder if on purpose with a child in mind or if it just happened to be like that.

I love Darrell‘s rendition of the child’s room. I think the imagination that he put into it, would even help the child’s imagination to grow to visualize so much more about the world.
Darren always understands the assignment. This is the perfect room for a kid. It's very whimsical, fun, colorful, and elegant. It feels comfortable and functional. I love this room so much: especially the seahorse lamps!
They were all great designs. Darren made an absolute dream themed kids bedroom, it was very accurate. Jenny's room was not perfect for kids, but was something pretty lovable as you grow up, but the lack of playfulness was felt. Chiara's room was thoughtful and practical but it could be more sophisticated with a lesser felt blank space.
I have loved every room Darren has designed in this series - if I suddenly came into a large sum of money he'd be designing my whole place for sure! I liked elements of the other rooms as well but not a huge fan of how they came together.
Darren hits the ball out of the park again! That room is packed full of fantasy just as a kids room should! I would have had all the princess tea parties in there!
Jenny: this just doesn’t look like a kid’s room imo. It’s so modern with muted tones. And what kid has a plant in their room?? Darren: we love a themed kid’s room lol. This looks great! It’s not too heavy on the underwater motif, but you can tell it’s for a kid who says they want toe a marine biologist when they grow up. And the curtains around the bed create the perfect ambience for telling scary stories at sleepovers. That rug is not gonna stay clean, tho. Chiara: thank you, Chiara for including fun activities like a swing and a climbing wall! I was waiting for one of them to do that bc what kid didn’t want to have those sorts of things in their bedroom but their parents wouldn’t let them??? Fantastic job. I also love her use of color. Kids typically don’t want to be surrounded by neutrals, they like saturated colors (looking at you, Jenny).
Darren's room is ACTUALLY a child's room! It's the only room that truly made me feel like an entire kid while he was designing it! I think the reef wallpaper and squiggly chair were GENIUS! Darren again for the win!!!!
unpopular opinion but i liked jenny's room. I can see my kid jumping in the bed and couch as well as dancing in the whole space. Everything is tidy, clean and organized and its more of a timeless design with a touch of trendy items. Plus i LOVE the big table with marble.
I've noticed that people give Jenny a hard time more than the other designers and I'm pretty sure it's because she looks like she doesn't wanna be here 😅😂. Noz (one of the previous designers) had the most impractical rooms I've ever seen and while people call her out for that they still love her because she's fun and passionate in explaining her designs, she really knows how to sell.
Every details darren's adds in his design has purpose! Really smart! I love that he said he is designing as if the "young darren" will use the room itself. As designers, we should always keep in mind to put ourselve's into our client's shoes to basically know what it feels like to live and to exprience our designs.
However, the "castle furniture" in darren's design is a concern for me for it has sharp points. As much as possible in my opinion we should avoid sharp edges for safety reasons
Chira's is comfy and homey (lots of curves and positive vibe) Darren's is imaginative and fun! Jenny's is neutral and lots of geometrical shapes (prison cell vibe)
they’re great designers but what I especially love about darren is he actually has a child in mind! Even if the child is himself I love how he considers what a child would love and enjoy. The room is not designed for a grown up it’s designed for a child and he did it in a way that’s so sophisticated.
I agree. It's very blocky and basic, shapes-wise. She's getting some heat in the comments but I think that room would be perfect for a certain kind of teen or young adult who likes order but still has a creative side.
Darren’s is a dream! I loved everything!!! Loved the comfy rug and throw pillows so the child has a place to play with their toys and have to beautiful closets to store them neatly in. I was a little surprised none of the designers included a dresser. I seriously can’t stop looking at Darren’s design though. The desk and chair are stunning and look like something a child would love (and an adult)
Genuinely confused why they keep bringing Jenny back... her room looks like padded walls of an insane asylum. Please feature more designers/decorators of color again, thanks!
It’s also difficult to listen to her talk. Likely not intentional but how she speaks comes across as so disinterested and disengaged. Like she haaaaaas ooooooother. Betteeeeeer. Things. To. Doooooo. With her. Tiiiiiiimeeee.

Where would they put their clothes, toys and other stuff? There’s no storage.
Darren Darren Darren, let me be a part of your world! LOVE it
Darren always makes me smile, his spaces are both inspiring and smart
Jenny's take on a teen scandinavian prision ... 10/10
Chira's is comfy and homey (lots of curves and positive vibe)
Darren's is imaginative and fun!
Jenny's is neutral and lots of geometrical shapes (prison cell vibe)
I wanted so much to like Chiara's design...but it's Darren's room that is absolutely alluring and whimsical. Love it.
they’re great designers but what I especially love about darren is he actually has a child in mind! Even if the child is himself I love how he considers what a child would love and enjoy. The room is not designed for a grown up it’s designed for a child and he did it in a way that’s so sophisticated.
I’ve been rewatching all videos featuring Darren for some time now.. Miss him so much in this series :”( AD please bring him back
Darren's designs are always surprising and full of high-quality ideas. This kid's room makes me want to have it too
Darren's room would be my dream room, for sure. All about the whimsy, creativity, play + sea. Just *love*!!
Darrens room is the only one that is a realistic kids room..
Loved watching these interior designers create a children’s room, an adults room, and a glorified office cubicle
Is it me or does Jenny's look like a university dorm?
Someone else said scandinavian prison cell...😅
it looks like a psych ward
More like a prison cell
A psych ward for the upper class.uhg.
I agree. It's very blocky and basic, shapes-wise. She's getting some heat in the comments but I think that room would be perfect for a certain kind of teen or young adult who likes order but still has a creative side.
Darren’s room is gorgeous. I want it! lol. Love the closet flanking the daybed.
Darren's bedroom is SOOOO ADORABLE. I love it!!!
Darren’s room is amazing. Truly.
I really like Jenny's room, that big couch look super comfortable
Me too
Darren‘s room is fabulous! Subtle fantasy if you ask me. I would live there in a heartbeat!
Darren wins me over EVERY time!!!!
Darren's design is gorgeous 🐟
I would have lost my ever loving mind if I had had Darren's room as a kid. I probably would never have moved out! hahah
I do always enjoy Darren's energy and passion
My favorite was Darren's - it was so fun and whimsical... I loved it!
Darren for the win. That Laura Ashley aesthetic needs to return back to its 1980's graveyard.
Darren's designs are always surprising and full of high-quality ideas. This kid's room makes me want to have it too!
Darren´s room is really nice, I like everything exept the chair, which seems hard ...the colours Harmonize and the design is soft and inviting...
Agreed!!!!
Your comment is point on
😁😂
i was just thinking it looks like the world's nicest prison cell!
