We just bought our house on Madeira this month. The mild climate and natural beauty - even in mid winter - is inspiring. We also look forward to exploring the continent. Madeira is safe and still a crazy bargain when comparing coastal properties anywhere in the world - particularly in the Ponta Do Pargo area where we are. The views are like Ireland but with much better weather. Also worth noting the investment in roads and infrastructure in this area. Golf course and hotels on the way. Oh and the new large university hospital in Funchal will have a big impact on medical tourism.
I live in Vilamoura, Algarve and I’m in Lisboa for the holidays. It was cool to see the skating ring which reminded me of my native Boston. I guess I can have it all, can’t I?
The death of the DHR was the door closing on my initial plans to move to Portugal. But! THe GOLD lining is that I am hopping to France in May 2025. Hope to meet y'all some day! Love your vids!
Bom dia! Another excellent video. We enjoyed our week in Lisbon. Now we are in Marseille. Next week Toulon, then Perpignan. We are still deciding where to go for February to June. Maybe Spain then Montenegro. Or the UK? Merci! Boas Festas! Dean & Cindy
Funny when people say all you need is a “steady income” if steady income is what government pays as “retirement payout” after a life working, you will be eating grass and living under a bridge no matter witch country you go to
Question. Once you qualify & get the Portuguese pass port, you will have to give up your US passport right?. If you do renounce your citizenship wont you lose your social security which is one of the significant source of income. Have you thought about the Pros and Cons of that scenario.
Olá Cookmaster, We will be able to have both passports. It is important that when you choose your country that you pick one that will allows a dual citizenship with your original country. In our case the USA. For example most USA will not qualify for dual citizenship in Spain. But most countries in Europe allow a dual citizenship with the USA. So no issues and we would not have ti renounce. Some people do choose to renounce but I think it's a small number. Hope this helps.

I think they mean the income is the requirement needed to get the VISA.

??? What are you talking about I have both passports

Many people don't know that you can have dual citizenships.
Poor countries are rich people's playgrounds...
Then they become rich countries! Score!
Ha! A blood oath, huh?
I knew you would be the one to comment in it! I made it for you!
