I have owned every type of Firewire and Slater board construction. My newest board is the Revo with the iBolic construction. I absolutely love it. It feels like PU but stronger. It's a tough construction. I've wiped out on 6-7ft waves coming up thinking, "I've got a ding", but nothing. I like it better than the LFT. Cool to hear the rest of the board lineup will have ibolic.
Eps repair tips brilliant. 1.fresh water to wash salt off 2.dry 3.1st mix thin layer resin to seal 4.then repair with glass n resin as normal in second resin mix. Thankyou dude! :-)
The hype is real! Chuy's so amped on the hype that he seemed to miss the question by not letting the guy finish asking. Seems he was trying to ask how the floatation was compared to regular eps. Chuy blurts out it's the same, then rambles about the 2# density blank actually sitting lower because of the hi-density rails and deck skin etc. So, is it really the same if it sinks lower in the water? I'm signing off on it.
Just to provide detailed accuracy to this propaganda release, the official website states there is a "moderate" change in the rocker and minor changes to the concaves and fin placements. In addition... the diagram shows it is indeed 1.5 pound density eps for the core, NOT 2#. Overall, besides having a slightly wider nose and other changes over the FRK Round... a nice looking performance shortboard along the lines of the CI Pro, Pyzel Highline, and the Lost Driver 3. Cheers!
Would you recommend going a little thinner in the dimensions like an EPS/Epoxy board to compensate for the extra buoyancey of the materials? Or am I overthinking that? I usually only ride PU boards but am highly considering picking up one of these bad boys.
The board will float closer to a PU. Chuy made a mistake on the production model, (He does so much R&D sometimes it's easy to lose track) it's the same as the LFT. The foam according to the info we got it 1.5EPS so its the same as the LFT. I have a Sci-Fi in LFT I have seems pretty close to a poly, maybe just a tad more float but way more lively for sure. So I would stay closer to your regular poly dems/volume. After you ride on let me know how you like it - David
Hey will ibolic replace current lft boards like cymatic? My point is will FireWire replace every current LFT board with ibolic or will he remove the boards slowly and add new boards with the new construction? Ibolic scifi 2.0 would be crazy
YES totally agree the Scifi in Ibolic would be crazy. Currently they have Ibolic in FRK, FRK+, Revo in some sizes. The Cymatic we've been coming in the Volcanic construction it's pretty much the Helium with Volcanic skin, some guys have been stoked because for in the past they were asking for Helium version.

@@hawaiiansouthshoreHi. Thank you. I found out that the large Endorfins truster setup works great in head-height surf and the quad on small days. @@andreshenriquez3087 Mix matching your two different size Endorphin sets sounds great. I’m surprised at 150lbs you’d grab the large size set. I’m glad you said this, being about the same size, I figured there’d be a benefit to having a larger fin set and isn’t always about your weight. Thanks
@@johndibartolo5658 yes, I learned that from a friend a couple of years ago. But I wonder if tom would have made such epic and user friendly boards like the seaside? His ci boards are great but they don’t blow up as much I wonder if Tom made boards for FireWire, would they be fun boards or high performance like the black beauty
The FRK+ is perfect for waist hight to a couple feet overhead for sure. For the waist high days, I've been writing mine as a 2+1 with the T2's.
