Nahéma means "daughter of fire" and was the name of an oriental princess who existed in Scheherazade's nightly tales, thanks for that tribute to one of my top favorites perfumes now sadly discontinued XXXX
@@tahina9686 It is true, i bought a few months ago a vintage one and it is a little bit different. But i will also buy the "new" one. We should do it, otherwise the company will completely stop the production (if they not sell it).
Hi. I've been a subscriber for some time now but I don't comment all that much. And I'm sure someone down there mentioned these things already. "Nahema", (one of my all time favorite perfumes), is an Arabic female first name and it means sweetness or pleasure. The name "Samsara", (my all time favorite perfume), on the other hand, is connected to Hinduism / Buddhism and it refers to the cycle of death and rebirth to which all life on earth is bound. I think Guerlain named this scent perfectly because Samsara when you wear it does lasts forever and ever but its notes keep cycling and recycling and changing as you go. I just love all your videos, btw, but especially the ones on the classics because they are my preference in perfumery. Like the elegant Mr. Persolaise, I could watch and listen to you all day long!
I love the format: collection, history and all the information you share! 🥰🥰 Samsara was my first Guerlain perfume. I was wearing it in my mid twentiees, and many people were saying that it was „too grown up” scent for me 🙄 but. I didn’t care. It was my powerhouse scent and I loved how it made me feel: strong and independent 😎 thank you for this video Sam! 🌹🌹I will definitely check the entire collection! 🤗
You look beautiufl. Absolutely delightful and informative. Love your comment about Opening Your Eyes and Discovery When You Find that Fragrance that yes, Opens your eyes and heart. I just did! HELLO, I'M A ROSE GIRL- Loved this segment. I heard about Nahema from another reviewer and was so taken by his stellar comments that I blind-bought from the Guerlain site! It arrived today and WOW😍😍😍😍😍beautiful and ADDICTIVE!!!! Nahema may just be my Signature Scent. Now I'm definitely interested in smelling the other potions you mention yet think my bank account might not appreciate it! Wonderful reviews! Nahema is delicious-I'm smitten!
Sam you look so so beautiful, I loved this video from start to finish, happy to see my beautiful Insolence, I described it as my 'Love Fragrance' because I was wearing it when I met my Husband. Thank you for sharing the stories together with the fragrances ❤️
I LOVE Champs Elysee, it’s my mom’s signature scent! This and Poeme by Lancome are her signature scents♥️ I absolutely ADORE Champs Elysee, it’s so sophisticated and elegant and femininebut definetely for a mature woman, for a grown up woman who has all her s**t together and is in a good place in life. Yes, clearly for a woman entering different settings in a day✨
Love the history lesson and appreciate your perspective. I think the Eau de Colognes are still in the classic beehive bottles thankfully. The bottles are beautiful.
Guerlain is my favorite house. I’m trying to collect the ones I don’t have but they are getting hard to find and very expensive. Thank you for the review
You're so knowledgable about everything perfume related and I learn so much every time I watch any of your videos!! About the bottles - I don't know exactly when Guerlain started putting all of these fragrances in the beehive bottles, but I think I remember some people on Fragrantica complaining about them. And now they're being changed to the heart bottle!! I really prefer the bee bottle, but also I kind of wish Guerlain would just be ok with having a lot of different bottles in their whole collection. I love the look of the original Insolence, for example.
I’m sad about the bee bottles being phased out and love that you honored them through this video. Apres l’Ondee is next on my list of Guerlains… can’t wait. So many gems here. Also, and I rarely use this word as it can be so corny, but you look like an angel, Sam! Gorgeous look on you.
Thank you for another great video! I love the idea of starting the day with an uplifting fragrance and then transition into the evening with a more powerful one. Eau de Cologne Impèriale is on my wishlist now, Eugenia is my 3rd name and I feel I must have it :)
Love the classics! Love Guerlain. Love the way they flaunt complexity, maturity and unisex-ness or gender fluidity--or at least the way the male public has worn their fragrances intended for women, for themselves. Love, love, love L'heure Bleue and Jicky.
Loved the little journey in the history of these perfumes. I have recently got intrigued by Insolence reading the reviews, I also love violets. I’m waiting my bottle to arrive. Unfortunately, it’s no longer in a frosted bee bottle but a new one.
I have Insolence. It was a blind buy. Not that I love it, but whenever I use it people tell me that I smell so good. Roses are my favourite. I will buy Nahema after your review.
Perfect! 💚💜💛💙 Big fan of Samsara. Champs is also super evocative of Paris for me. My mum haaaates it though. 😆 It's funny. We have like polar opposite tastes. 🌹
Great video! Here's me thinking the "classics" are Charlie and White Diamonds and I'm not even young lol. I think it's because my mom wasn't a big perfume person outside of designer brands and she HATES sandalwood which makes me think do -I- hate sandalwood or have I just been told it's a bad thing lol. Curious about all these fragrances, I especially like the idea of switching fragrances throughout the day, that would have never occurred to me.
You're a definition of class and sophistication - what a nice change from the rest of RUclipsrs talking about perfume. Thank you for your work. Looking forward to more videos.
Thank you for lovely review on Guerlain, it’s one of favorites!! I wear Samsara, and remember when it first came out , that it was so mysterious and sensual. It still is, however; the sandlewood, seems to be lighter, and the orris root and amber a bit stronger. I loved your description of Nahema, and is now on my list. This off subject, but I love your blouse and I was wondering if you knew where you got it? I’ve been looking for one like that for a long time but not having any luck.🌹🌹🙏🙏
Vol de Nuit is so significant to me (because Exuperie crashed in the Egyptian desert and was saved by Coptic monks- my peeps- before writing The Little Prince..) and I received my bee bottle today. As taken as I am... As right as you all are... I can't believe I found her for less than 80 US. Kismet~
I so enjoyed getting an education on the history of these fragrances, beautiful! I’m pretty sure that nahema is a type of rose, I may be wrong but I believe so.
Great video! I have Insolence EDT and I *love* her. 💗 I’m wanting to try Samsara next. I’m also interested in Jicky, but have been a little gun-shy after hearing some people detect a more animalic civet note. Do you smell that?
Such a wonderful video! Your knowledge is impressive 😍 And why on earth did they change the bottles, they are so beautiful. So glad I own at least one (Insolence) one of my favourites as well 😊
Fantastic video. I’m very curious if you’ve been able to compare the new bottles to see if the formulations have changed or it’s just a new form of marketing. Also, I hope you can get your hands on Chamade. Absolutely fantastic and underrated imo. -Chris
Is it weird to say that I often wish I could smell you wearing a certain perfume? 😺 like some classics that are hard to get into might smell interesting on a cool person 😹 especially love the visuals of this video ✨
I can’t believe you didn’t mention Mitsouko because of the chronological order or maybe is because it doesn’t come in this particular bottle will you’ve explained it but I still needed to say it 😂
I love that you talk about the history of the scents and not just how they smell.
Thank you so much, Percy 🌹Xo Sam
